BigJackBrass reacted to HeroGM in Decoder request
Mr. Long was gracious enough to have sent me this and it arrived on the mail today.
Thank you again.

BigJackBrass got a reaction from Opal in Premade Campaign Poll
That certainly surprises me, but then the popularity of child and teen protagonists was something I was baffled by even as a child and a teen 😁

BigJackBrass reacted to GestaltBennie in [New Product] Champions Complete
Re: [New Product] Champions Complete
We've needed a "Your First Champions Adventure" for the longest time. A really good tutorial to get player groups and GMs started fast.

BigJackBrass reacted to Ninja-Bear in Hero Games 2021 Update
Also could Street level Supers get some love? There is scant little of it mentioned in various books/editions. More though of how to blend true Super powers (though not that super) into a Street level game. Here specifically I’m thinking of Luke Cage type guy.

BigJackBrass reacted to Tech in Champions Campaign 40th Anniversary
It's hard for me to believe I'm saying this but come this June, our campaign will be 40 years old, along with the 40th Anniversary of the game Champions. It's actually mind-boggling to me, that any campaign could be that long. The campaign is older than my friend's marriage as well as some people in the campaign. I'm planning on buying some plastic award medals that you can put your own emblem inside of and giving them out in June. By the way, this is the same continuous campaign - never stopped or retconned. It's gone through changes over the decades and has seen players & characters come and go, but the core players are still playing some of the same characters that the campaign started with.
So along with saying it's been 40 years, I also want to say that it is the Champions game that is so durable and flexible that made this happen. My hat off to you, Hero Games and more specifically, to Champions.

BigJackBrass got a reaction from Word Sensei 515 in IS this still avallable?
I imagine this was due to his actions as part of the "Sad Puppies" fiasco targeting the Hugo Awards in 2014.

BigJackBrass reacted to Duke Bushido in Adventurers Club (and other stuff)
For those who don't subscribe, the BOH went up today with the Adventurers Club and a lot of other material!
I don't know what it looks like yet: I only did the scanning; clean-up was left to other volunteers. Still, it's the cheapest way there is to read the old stuff!

BigJackBrass reacted to Simon in HERO System 6th Edition Rules Questions: Heads Up
Just a quick heads-up for folks: the rules questions forum has been changed a bit, given Steve's schedule and general lack of time to jump in and answer questions these days.
The forum is now an open question and answer forum. Threads should stick to similar themes as previously (rules questions pertaining to 6E). Anyone can respond now...and folks can vote/rate answers. The highest rated answer is listed first...and the original poster can select a best-answer (which will be pinned to the top of the list).
I'm treating this as something of an experiment for now -- we'll see how it works over time and adjust as needed.

BigJackBrass reacted to Brian Stanfield in Product Checklist
Duke has a link in his signature for what you are looking for. He'd point you that way, but since he's unavailable right now I'll add it right here for you: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BYuTpC3Xg3xWgFQXEvIJC__QLHojYkvsP8IHCW1_4qI/edit#gid=0

BigJackBrass reacted to Duke Bushido in Duke's scans
Hello, HERO people!
I have had some spine problems today, making it impossible to sit down or stand up more than just a few minutes, and the constant up-and-down of the humidity with the rain trying and failing to come together isn't helping.
At any rate, I have gotten #13 done, though it took about four times as long as it should have. I'd like to say that it was "the last of the easy ones," but at one-hundred-plus pages, it wasn't particularly light-weight, either.
At any rate, the magazine was reformatted after this one, and I can not lay a complete leaf upon my scanner (I really miss the Super Scanner.... ). That means the rest will go a bit slower, as even de-bound, I will only be able to scan one page at a time. I have no intention of cutting the leaves (I intend to put the books back together when this is all done), so there's going to be a minute or two of flipping, folding, and turning with each page. And of course, alignment will have to be one page at a time instead of two.
Stil, things are looking pretty good. With one-through-thirteen done, _and_ #26 done, we _can_ say that one-half of the books are scanned! Yay!
The rest will be slower, I'm afraid, but will be approached with the same level of tenacity that got this much done. Then-- onto a flash drive and on to Jason!

BigJackBrass got a reaction from pinecone in Lucha Libre HERO: Designing a wrestling ape...
There's Mil Máscaras, of course, but weirdly everyone knows who he is even when he changes masks. He's the master of disguising himself as Mil Máscaras!

BigJackBrass reacted to Duke Bushido in From The Management: Hero Games History Question
By this time tomorrow night, Jason should have scans of issue one-- and hopefully issue two-- in his hands.
Guys: I am not doing the cleanup on these scans; I don't know who is. I can't vouch for the final results of the project, but I will be sending 1200dpi scans to allow the best possible start to this project!

BigJackBrass got a reaction from Khas in Updating the crunch for 5th edition books
This may have been discussed before but, since nothing came up when I searched, here's something I've been pondering:
At this point I think it's fair to say that we are not going to see 6E versions of, say, Lucha Libre Hero or Dark Champions. The economics clearly aren't in favour. In many cases, though, the parts of the 5E books requiring an update are not the bulk of the volume, so they still work as excellent sourcebooks if you don't mind doing a bit of work on the numbers.
With that in mind, what about producing update PDFs for older books specifically to bring them in line with the current edition? There's no rewriting, reformatting and reprinting of the originals involved, simply a downloadable document providing updated stats etc. I can't think of an easier way to make old stock relevant again and to open up earlier material for people who aren't really in a position to rejig everything themselves.
Does that sound like a reasonable idea, something worth pursuing?

BigJackBrass reacted to pinecone in Lucha Libre HERO: Designing a wrestling ape...
I would have no problem with this. If you wanted buy a super disguise power into the mask, and make that part of the character. I don't think I've ever heard of a Lucha-master of disguise!

BigJackBrass reacted to Ninja-Bear in Lucha Libre HERO: Designing a wrestling ape...
FWIW Bigjackbrass I believe in Bestiary 4th has an Orangutan write up. Iirc Orangutan means man of the hills. And DC: TAS has a villain named Missing Link. A man born so hairy and ape like he’s mistaken as an ape.

BigJackBrass reacted to Brian Stanfield in Lucha Libre HERO: Designing a wrestling ape...
I encourage you to at least look at the first paragraph about Kayfabe. Not only is it fascinating as a sociological study, it fits perfectly into a wrestling hero. The audience and fellow wrestlers actively suspend disbelief in the interest of better drama. They’re all participating in mutually gaming the game.
Seems to fit into the spirit of your game here.
