Has anyone else expeirienced this? After I got and read FRED I noticed that when I watched a TV show or a movie, I'd be unconciously building the characters, vehicles, monsters, in my head. I watched X-2 for example and found my self building the power Prof. X used to freeze the humans at the mueseum.

Re: newbie - thinkin of getting these rules I can assure you that HERO is not really that hard to learn, in dact I picked up the 4th Edition, read it, made a few practice characters and then ran my own campaign for three years, straight. I love HERO and its the only system for me!

Re: Devious Idea that may work once....once... Or do what I did, make the design make sense to an alien mind but not a human mind. For instance when they board the alien vessel and somehow manage to get it to guide them to the bridge. A strand of light appears on the wall and it moves back and forth. Chances are they'll follow it the direction its headed and not the direction it came from. The blinking red light on the alien beam weapon just came on after a heavy bout of firing? They'll assume its overheating and normaly toss it, when in fact its just recharging. They pressed a button on the bridge and the ship starts speaking and displaying what looks to be a countdown? Nine times out of ten they evacuate right then, when all its doing is asking for the passcode.

Re: The Force--Need Help! prestidigitator has it right. Its the intent of the person using the power that determines if its light or dark. If the intent is to harm someone, or to bring yourself power then you're using a Dark side power, no matter what it is. Think of it like this. In a New Hope Obi-wan Kenobi uses the jedi mind trick to avoid a fight with the stormtroopers, a Light side use of the jedi mind trick. If he had used it to get more money when Luke sold his speeder to the Jawas or to get Han to charge less for passage then that would be a Dark side use or the Jedi mind trick.

I'm looking for a way to build a possesion power. Where you enter a person's body and control it completely. I'm just about ready to create my own power, Body Control.

Re: Spiderman Vs. Firelord I'm just poping in to clearify the suit Spidey was wearing. It was a black suit, it was made of cloth. Durring the Secret Wars it was damaged too badly to wear so Spider-Man used some of the alien machines to make a new one, THAT one was the symbiote.

Re: Damage Healing? Buy a good amount of Absorption, place a limitation on it so it only works against your chosen element. Then buy a Force Field which provides the same amount of defense (Pd or Ed which ever your chosen element would go against) then link it to your Absorption and apply the limitation 'Only Up To Amount Rolled on Absorption Dice (-1/2). Viola!

This time he botches it and instead of being recharged he is drained and left with a seemingly insatiable need for magic power to keep himself alive. Unfortuantly the only way for him to absorb this power is to eat what ever it is contained within. And even worse the closest source of magic power is the local super hero group's mage! Can Mystic's hunger be satiated? Will the PCs beable to save both him and their magic using college? Re: Deathstroke Just a note on Slade's regeneration power. Its actualy pretty damn slow. I have one comic where he failed to assassinate the president and was killed. In the next issue, a day or so later he finaly returns to life just as he's being cut open for his autopsy.

Re: Mental Martial Arts Both of those are sort of what I ment and sort of not. Lets say I know Karate and I have TK. Would you allow me to buy a weapon element for TK and then allow me to use my Karate with it? Just WE: Telekinesis, not Telekinesis and blades or some such. Basicly would you allow a player to use TK with normal martial arts if they bought a weapon element for it?

Re: Mental Martial Arts Heres a question thats only slightly on topic. Would you allow a character with TK and a martial art to buy a weapon element to let them use their MA with their TK? If not like that how would you allow it?

Re: Who is your campaigns "Bad Guy they love to hate" I've got on that my FTF players loved to hate. He was a 700 year old Vampire lord named Grivalos. He was orginaly hired by a mob boss to take out one member of their team. When he first popped up they fought against him, lost and ran to one of the PCs' church (one of the PCs was a priest). They managed to beat him and he slunk away only to reapear three game years later to rob a mansion. It took him a while but he assembled a magical device that blocked the sun out over the entire state of New York. He was eventualy defeated (it took them a while as he had an army of vampires). Shortly after he was defeated a half vampire on their team, who had been sired by Grivalos became evil and started raising her own army and the strongest hero in the game was in love with her and protected her from the rest of the group! To stop her they had to bring Grivalos back to life and keep him alive in a manner that left him no chance to escape. They bought a ton (literaly) of sliver formed some of it into a collar, a waist cuff, wrist cuffs, and ankle cuffs. Put him in those and welded it to the rest of the ton of silver. Then they took it twenty miles out to see and pushed it over board.

Re: Entangle that stops Hearing Maybe but you don't build a Darkness silence field to block taste/smell you build it to affect hearing. So does it go the same way with entangles?

If I buy an entangle that stops hearing does it prevent the entangled character from using powers that require incantations?
