  1. Re: First Round TKO This was one reason we went to the x3 mod for Killing attacks. Too many times of an opening round in combat taking out a PC. Though that's what the comics were for...
  2. Re: Wondering what happened. http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=641674
  3. Re: Battle of Detroit Well, most of the people at that combat were part of the group that played daily so we were very quick. No way I could do it as quickly now. (It's been a long time since I could do 1000 dice/rnd) And your game went very smoothly. Good use of abstraction.
  4. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist Hmm. I'm noticing some headers have "../../index/sstuff.css" and some have "../../../index/sstuff.css" for style sheet locations.
  5. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist I think it's the style sheet. If I save a complete page with Firefox, I'm picking up the surbrook style sheet. Not sure why Konq is having a problem getting it though I'm noticing some odd characters at the very end of the file when saved via Konq.
  6. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist So if I save a complete page from the Hero site, no problems with either browser. Grrr. Though I'm wondering if part of the problem is the style sheet, since at least here we won't be able to load it. href="../index/sstuff.css" I also noticed if I ran the complete page thru tidy from W3C that it complains about an empty iframe. Not sure why, looked fine, but I'll check more. And since Oddhat is seeing it from your site, I'll check via there. That way I can eliminate V-Bulletin as a culprit.
  7. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist Yep. Konqueror starts with "Graduating, William was pleased to be hired on as a research assistant by a major chemical and pharmaceutical company." I'm curious so I'm going to do a little digging.
  8. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist And I'm using Firefox on Linux (v 1.01) Ok: Just checked with Konquoror and that shows only starts in the middle of history. It could be there's an unmatched tag somewhere? And Safari & Firefox are being helpful.
  9. Re: The cranky thread Gah. So I'm on the phone about something that I don't want to get into here, but part of the conversation "Can we verify your mailing address?" "blah blah street, Portland, Oregon" "Ah, capital of Oregon" "No, that's Salem" "Well, Portland is the capitol of Maine" "No, that's Augusta" "I am sure it is Portland, I used to live in Massachusetts" "It's Augusta" "I used to go to Portland all the time, I'm sure" Ok. I didn't want to be on the phone with this person and now I'm arguing with a geographically disabled person.
  10. Re: Absorbtion Burst So you could do +50 STR, x10 End (-4), from End Reserve, 10 points 50 End Reserve, 5 points Absorption into End Reserve That would give you the powerful burst. Now you could split the absorption into End & just STR.
  11. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Nice Post over in the Western Hero thread
  12. Re: All your bases our belong to me!
  13. Re: William Dixon, Golden Age scientist Are you seeing the scroll bar? I've got a full character sheet. And I like the Science! suggestion Michael.
  14. Re: Absorbtion Burst One way I've done this in the past is have the power bought at whatever scale needed. It feeds off a End Reserve that is only fed by absorption. Of course, this is rather expensive. Another way is have an absorption that actually builds the power and the power can then be limited by whatever controls you want on it.
  15. Re: All your bases our belong to me! SF Bay Area. No writeups available, but I've run a few games and played a few games based there. A few locations: Top of Mt. Tam in the old Air Force base, Treasure Island, Alcatraz, and in one of the old Nike missile bases on the coast. p.s. My character insisted on the giant lucite map in the justice squad base.
  16. Re: Taking Characters from books and making them your own... And we still over analyze the comics trying to get clues! Actually, we were just digging for Rogue's name.
  17. Re: [4color] Why do you dislike the Iron Age style? (No flames, ok?) Sal's OK. Herb Trimpe I recall as just being dull and lifeless. Still better than man breast boy.
  18. Re: Nomenclature Hmm. Finally wandering by the thread. I've actually had the same thought on Power Defense and kind of like it being "Special Defense". Oddhat makes a good point, but there are cases where I think there should be a off the wall defense. Though I hardly ever go for the really odd attacks as a GM...
  19. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat A shiny new penny!
  20. Re: Rounding for nbkbruce Go with the second thought. Sounds better from a marketing point of view.
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings This artist reads NGD apparently Two Lumps edit: Seems to have broken. Just getting a white space now though other days are fine.
  22. Hunting for some other info, came across this: Altiverse Some interesting ideas in here, well goofy at least. We got Dynamite Vest Man for instance.
  23. Re: Looking for Spidery names ... sort of. So I look around a bit and find this: http://www.eyrie.org/superguy/altiverse/heroes/spider.html Not the same guy that used to have a theme for Trap Door Spiderman.
