  1. Generally speaking, no. However, a GM could certainly allow it if he wanted to, or perhaps charge the character some lesser Advantage than the +1 Altered Duplicates to allow it.
  2. Unless the GM's specifically willing to permit it, I'd generally consider that illegal. What you're looking for sounds to me more like a form of Desolidification, perhaps with some Limitations.
  3. Yes, provided the GM considers all the attacks “related.” If the GM has any doubts or concerns about game balance, he should err on the side of caution and not allow this.
  4. He is alive, with -8 BODY. He does not start “bleeding to death”; the Resurrection effect is considered to have “stabilized” him just like any other form of healing successfully applied.
  5. No defense is automatically Hardened. If you want it, ya gotta pay for it. If you meant to ask about Mental Defense being Resistant, see 5E 129.
  6. Unless your GM forbids it for some reason, absolutely it's allowed.
  7. I think this is something related to the changeover that's gradually getting taken care of, but I'll make sure Ben sees your message.
  8. The text on 5E 213 addresses this in the last paragraph on the left.
  9. As always, the minimum cost for something is 1 point. A character can't get points back for having a Perk, or buy a Perk for 0 points. For Reputation, the minimum a character has to spend on each increment is 1 point.
  10. The text on 5E 145 should answer all your questions, including the use of Continuous. Take a look at it, and if you still have questions, post a follow-up.
  11. Folx, please let's keep this thread on-track. If you want to discuss "how I solved X problem in my FH game," please do -- in a separate thread. Let's keep this focused on the contents of the future FH book. "Please address this problem in FH" is all I need to see here.
  12. Generally not a real huge part -- I don't want to inhibit the usefulness of the book, or bulk up its size, by adding a lot of "flavor text" that's of marginal usefulness to many readers. However, we do want to give the book some "color," so here's what we're doing. First, the illustrations will have a dandy little stylized border by Keith Curtis that resembles an UNTIL computer frame, or something like that. Second, where possible, I'm going to include sidebars that accompany each illo. Some will be "excerpts" from the Database itself, but others will be agents' field notes, scientist's notes, and so on. Should be a lot of fun, and it will include some form of "power ranking" system. It won't be the same as the Alpha-Beta-Delta-Omega system in CKC, though -- that's a Department of Defense method for ranking the overall threat posed by a villain, whereas this is an UNTIL ranking for specific powers.
  13. A Dispel or Adjustment Power bought specifically to affect Desolidification, or which can affect a special effect upon which a given Desolidification power is based, can affect a target even if he’s currently Desolidified.
  14. Hmmm. I'm not sure what you're talking about. To my knowledge, there have never been critical hit rules for the HERO System in any edition. Are you perhaps thinking of the Hit Location rules, which are on 5E 276?
  15. It's 5 BODY, with a minimum of 1 BODY getting through.
  16. Take the cost of the Automaton. Buy him as a Follower per the standard rules. Take the cost of the Computer. Divide by 5 per the rules/Rules FAQ, and pay that cost. Thus, cost = Automaton + Computer. If you want four of this combo, apply the +5 = x2 rule to both the Automaton and the Computer.
  17. Well, maybe she's undergone a power upgrade -- Whirlwind to Hurricane.
  18. A short example at the back... hmmm. That I might be able to do. Thanx for the suggestions, guys -- keep 'em comin'! I'll have further word on my progress on the book in this Friday's update. It'll be good to get home and really dig into it.
  19. A quick note 'fore I hop on a plane and head for home.... DunDraCon was, as always, a blast. Hero was well-received; we sold about three-fourths of the copies of The Ultimate Vehicle that we brought, along with lots of other books, so we walked away with some money in our pockets to boot. The Hero party on Saturday night was a great time to sit down, relax, and talk about gaming. I'm already looking forward to next year's version. As Keith mentions, Derek's game was great. Anytime I have the chance to give Sinestro a Batarang lobotomy, I'm havin' fun.
  20. Thanx for calling in, BW. We here at WHRO always like to hear from our listeners. That's legal. It's specifically described on page 5E 207.
  21. A Computer is generally not bought as a Follower. You'd buy the two separately, unless the GM prefers otherwise.
  22. See the Rules FAQ under "Presence" re: Presence Attacks. See 5E 81 re: Mental Powers.
  23. No, the recovery time is based on the rules for those Powers.
  24. Generally, yes, he'd already be Duplicated. As always, the GM can change that outcome if it doesn't make sense or causes game balance problems.
