  1. Are you the Victor Von Doom of the palladium boards? If you would like to get tones of write ups for how to build character types then you could also look at the Book Conquerors Killers & Crooks. It has Doom like characters "Doctor Destroyer" and literally a dozen other power suit type characters. I would post a few but I think that could put me in violation of some copyright law. However I think I am allowed to post part of a character so I will post a power example. This is a Mech Based Characters Powers that I made as a anti hero using Mechassassin from CKC as a base he is one of those heroes who brakes the rules so the players don’t want to kill him only apprehend him. Aeries Player: Val Char Cost 25 STR 5 23 DEX 24 25 CON 10 10 BODY 0 20 INT 10 13 EGO 6 20 PRE 10 14 COM 2 20 PD 2 20 ED 2 5 SPD 12 6 REC 0 30 END 0 30 STUN 4 6" RUN02" SWIM012" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 87 Cost Power END Armored Exoskeloton, all slots: OIF (-1/2) 5 1) Enhanced Strength: +10 STR (10 Active Points); No Figured Characteristics (-1/2) 1 7 2) Enhanced Dexterity: +5 DEX (15 Active Points); No Figured Characteristics (-1/2) 10 3) Enhanced Constitution: +10 CON (20 Active Points); No Figured Characteristics (-1/2) 7 4) Enhanced Speed: +1 SPD (10 Active Points) 56 Electric Pistol: Multipower, 75-point reserve, all slots: 64 Charges (+1/2) (112 Active Points); OAF (-1) 4u 1) Standard Setting: Energy Blast 10d6 (vs. ED), Armor Piercing (+1/2) (75 Active Points) 2u 2) Boosted Gain Setting: Killing Attack - Ranged 3d6 (vs. ED), Penetrating (+1/2) (67 Active Points); Requires 3 Charges Per Use (-3/4) 50 Armor Weapon Systems: Multipower, 75-point reserve, all slots: (75 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 4u 1) Right Gauntlet Tanglecoil Launcer: Entangle 6d6, 6 DEF, 16 Charges (+0) (60 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 2u 2) Concussor Grenade: Energy Blast 10d6 (vs. PD), Explosion (+1/2) (75 Active Points); 3 Charges (-1 1/4), OAF (-1) 2u 3) Trang Gas Grenade: Energy Blast 5d6 (vs. PD), Area Of Effect (5" Radius; +1), No Normal Defense (Self-Contained Breathing) Standard (+1) (75 Active Points); 3 Charges (-1 1/4), OAF (-1) 3u 4) Enhanced Smoke Grenade: Darkness to Sight , Radio and Mental Groups 5" radius, Personal Immunity (+1/4) (75 Active Points); OAF (-1), 3 Continuing Charges lasting 1 Turn each (-3/4) 3u 5) Vibro Blades: Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 3d6 (plus STR) (vs. PD) (45 Active Points) 4 30 Armor: Armor (15 PD/15 ED) (45 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 7 Air Supply & Rebreather: Life Support , Self-Contained Breathing (10 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 5 Jet Boots: Leaping +7" (12" forward, 6" upward) (7 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) 1 6 Built in communicator: High Range Radio Perception (12 Active Points); Sense Affected As Sight And Hearing Group As Well As Radio Group (-1/2), OIF (-1/2) 3 NightVision: Ultraviolet Perception (5 Active Points); OIF (-1/2) Powers Cost: 206 Cost Martial Arts Maneuver Commando Training 4 1) Boxing Cross: 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +2 DCV, STR +4d6 Strike 4 2) Escape: 1/2 Phase, +0 OCV, +0 DCV, +25 STR vs. Grabs 4 3) Hold: 1/2 Phase, -1 OCV, -1 DCV, Grab Three Limbs, +10 STR for holding on 4 4) Judo Disarm: 1/2 Phase, -1 OCV, +1 DCV, Disarm; +20 STR to Disarm roll 8 5) +2 HTH Damage Class(es) Martial Arts Cost: 24 Cost Skill 15 +3 with Ranged Combat 3 Breakfall 14- 3 Bribery 13- 3 Bugging 13- 3 Combat Piloting 14- 3 Interrogation 13- 2 AK: Europe 11- 3 KS: The Military/Mercenary/Terrorist World 12- 3 KS: The Superhuman World 12- 3 Security Systems 13- 3 Tactics 13- 3 Teamwork 14- Skills Cost: 47 Cost Perk 5 Money: Well Off Perks Cost: 5 Total Character Cost: 369
  2. UMA has a limitation section covering this topic on page 186 and 187 however it dies not give limitations it only says what certian armors would cover. Fred also goes over this on pages 181 under activation and page 334 under armor coverage/activation table. Your example should read as the following power. Cost Power END 18 Her Partial Coverage: (Total: 36 Active Cost, 18 Real Cost) Full Body Tards: Armor (4 PD/4 ED) (12 Active Points); Activation Roll: Hit Locations 9-18 12- (-3/4) (Real Cost: 7) plus That suit she wears: Armor (8 PD/8 ED) (24 Active Points); Activation Roll: Hit Locations 10-13 10- (-1 1/4) (Real Cost: 11) Powers Cost: 18
  3. The way he has it would be correct he was including the actual cost of the recovery. So to recover 1 Bod per a month does cost you 2 points P.S.: I like but I also do not have a problem with the current system.
  4. I like the gradual effect thing I wonder if I can pull it of with the points I have?
  5. Change Environment would be to poweful of an effect after all his impresiveness should take a moment or two to take effect. Perhaps with some limitations I could get it looking the correct way.
  6. I do like your version of the story. although I am not sure I will use it. The Idea that he is in the US originaly was that he wanted to be far away from home however I like the idea of him trying to work with the law to squash crime as an Ops member. From my perspective if I go with your background he will need to have a lot more skills as real world law enforment trains there people I think super law enforcment would train them even better.
  7. Re: Re: We are excited Ndreare. Of all the mistakes people make while spelling (including my self) you chose this one. (A correct spelling to notice.) After all how else would you spell reek
  8. Well the way I see it is that a ship can easly get out of hand if you are not carefull I do however think that that is were multiples of crew become required so that others can "Hold" basicly catching the slack were one man could not do it all.
  9. I like the idea of the veritigo being bought as a dex drain instead of high presence. As for more info on the V.P.P. I limited his V.P.P. to the powers listed in the USPD under diminsional and cosmic energy powers I simply did not think that that was enough to merit a limitation. Na he is not a lawer he only read and studied law in prison. A for the lack of skills that is part of the idea most of the time a person would spend builing skills he spent doing nothing or lifting weights. He was built to be a suport chraracter more so than a primary hero. As he is posted is a rough draft from some ideas I was talking to a friend about. So he will be finished and fleshed out. Wyrm Ouroboros: His background ... leaves much to be desired, and has several flaws of logic (both real and game-world) that I itch to correct... What corrections would you make? Afetr all to just say "This is bad" but not give reasons or ideas to fix it is not constructive. But I think you are correct in that he could use more skills. However something to consider is are these skills you think he need things that a person would have learned in his situation? Alot of people could have ten to twenty skills but I believe more would only have the barest of skills out side their profesion.
  10. Game stor owners can also destroy a market. Here in Burlington the owner of the local game stor speeks ill of HERO and only has one HERO book on his shelf the Champions Source book. So I imagine that the sales here will suck. While in Musoula Montana I found a game store owner who liked the game and as such recamended books to people and things like that.
  11. If he is then that is one skilled rules runner.
  12. A second way of doing things would be Cost Power END 41 GET IN MY BELLY: Entangle 6d6, 6 DEF (Stops A Given Sense Group: Sight Group, Stops A Given Sense: Normal Touch), Movable area (+1/2) (112 Active Points); Feed Back: Refer to Force Wall (-1), No Range (-1/2), Cannot Form Barriers (-1/4) 11 Powers Cost: 41
  13. I would build this as an EDM "My Belly" UAA with the fX sayingthe characters may return to normal buy "Breaking Free" witch would be done by a contested STR Body roll. Then you could buy STR with a -3/4 limitation only for holding people in by belly. The reason I don't believe that escape by contested str roll would be worth points is because all UAA must have a reasonably common way to avoid them and as a GM I think I would allow this one for at least a test run.
  14. Hey all I just wanted to post a character to get your opinions. Would you allow him in a game of yours? If so what would you change? If not what would you change?P.S.: I know his CV is low but that represents his lack of experience with his powers & if you’re a person who just plain out laws V.P.P. then on that particular thing I will admit that I am not compromising as in our games they are encouraged as about the only way to simulate what most comic characters do with their powers.JerichoPlayer: Robert Towell Val Char Cost 12 STR 2 18 DEX 24 20 CON 20 12 BODY 4 13 INT 3 19 EGO 18 30 PRE 20 16 COM 3 5/15 PD 3 5/15 ED 1 4 SPD 12 10 REC 8 40 END 0 28 STUN 0 6" RUN02" SWIM02" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 118Cost Power END 32 Dimensional Awareness : Spatial Awareness (Refer to FAQ) (Analyze, Discriminatory) 17 Cosmic Energy Containment: Endurance Reserve (150 END, 5 REC) Reserve: (20 Active Points) REC: (5 Active Points); Slow Recovery 5 Minutes (-1), Not In Heroic Identity (-1/4) [Notes: While in Hero ID All things come from reserve] 40 Dimensional Form: Force Field (10 PD/10 ED), Cost END per Minute (+1/2), Hardened (x2; +1/2) (40 Active Points) (uses END Reserve) 4 120 Dimensional / Cosmic Energy Control: Variable Power Pool (Restricted to powers from USPDB (-0)), 65 base + 55 control cost, Cosmic (+2) (162 Active Points); Costs Endurance To Change (-1/2), Linked to Dimensional Form (-1/4) Powers Cost: 209Cost Skill 3 Bureaucratics 15- 2 PS: Atorney 11- 3 Creative Power Use (INT-based) 12- 3 Computer Programming 12- 3 High Society 15- 0 Language: English (Idiomatic, native accent; Native Language) 3 Language: French (fluent conversation; literate) 0 CK: Ontario 8- 3 Scholar 1 1) KS: Law (2 Active Points) 11- 1 2) KS: Parahuman Law (2 Active Points) 11- 1 3) KS: The Superhuman World (2 Active Points) 11- Skills Cost: 23Val Disadvantages 5 Distinctive Features: Heavily Publicized Face (Easily Concealed; Noticed and Recognizable; Detectable By Commonly-Used Senses) 15 Hunted: Media Outlets 14- (Less Pow; Watching; Extensive Non-Combat Influence; PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find) 25 Hunted: Para Human Control Agencies 14- (Mo Pow; Watching; Extensive Non-Combat Influence; PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find) 25 Hunted: VIPER 8- (Occasionally), More Powerful, Capture, Extensive Non-Combat Influence, PC has a Public ID or is otherwise very easy to find 5 Money: Poor 20 Psychological Limitation: Guilt (Common; Total) 25 Psychological Limitation: Must be a HERO (Very Common; Total) 10 Reputation: Jericho the man who used his powers to kill 8- (Extreme) 15 Social Limitation: Very Public ID (Very Frequently; Minor) 10 Social Limitation: Convicted Felon (Others don't understand he was pardoned) (Occasionally; Major) 10 Vulnerability: 2 x Effect Pre Attacks From Women (Uncommon) Disadvantage Points: 165Base Points: 185Experience Required: 0Total Experience Available: 9Experience Unspent: 9Total Character Cost: 350 Height: 5' 9" Hair: Raven Weight: 165 lbs Eyes: Brown Appearance: As Jericho he is a well built man of middle height in his early 20?s with raven black hair, brown eyes and a demeanor that screams limitless. Almost always dressed in modest clothes Jericho has no money for good clothes and as such the only nice things he owns are illusions or manifestations of his powers. While in his hero form Jericho surrounds himself in a force field that only adds to his already boundless presence. Looking at him for two long can be disorienting as the corona that surrounds him fluctuates with time. Personality: Guilt stricken Jericho spends all of his spare time trouble shooting and looking to help others. This manifest in such a powerful manner he will go out of his way to help any one even people he sees as bad. (This does not protect super villains as he sees every one of them as nothing more than bullies picking on the week to gain a foot hold.)Quote:"I won't let them down, I have already failed once and I can?t do it again."Background: Jericho was born it Saudi Arabia to a wealthy Canadian oil tycoon. Growing up he had it all, money, education, culture and even sex. Then it all came crashing down during the second gulf war the Actinmyers lost a fortune followed by a hostile take over of the company. suddenly this 16 year old who's every wish was made real found that he could not order so much as a hamburger with out having to prove he had money first. The stress was too much he cracked. In the accident that followed as his powers manifested 2 people were killed and 24 were seriously injured. Jericho was guilt stricken he pled guilty to manslaughter and haply went to prison expecting to die there. Then he was pardoned. You see a young parole officer named Kathy Nashfinder had found his case to be a gross mistake and brought it to the attention of her father in law "Dwayne Jacobson" the Prime minister of Canada at the time so he pardoned Jericho Actinmyer. Jericho fought the pardoned convinced he was a danger to every one and every thing around him. However the law was clear once pardoned of a crime the defendant could no longer be held on that charge and so it is that Jericho decided to move to "America" and become a "Superhero" to this day Jericho still feels guilty and tries everything is his power to gain redemption not knowing the only true redemption is inside of himself.Powers/Tactics: Jericho?s powers seem to be primarily some from of illusion/manipulation powers and the UNTIL scientist spend alot of time having him do stunts for them. As yet they are primarily under developed and unfocused. As he grows, more definition and new ceilings will be discovered.Campaign Use:
  15. Naked Advantage Uncontroled+1/2, Trigger +1/4, Limitations of Focus and whatever else you want and you are good to go. IMHO
  16. Actualy YES they will be fighting demigods and things like that. The players are all given 50 points in perks at the begginnning of the game also so they are now 400 total at play. The game seems likeit will be so much fun the first game will be tomarro and I hope to get the players very excited and thinking hard. The game will actualy be very political believe it or not. Ther mane goal will be to protect there Subject from invaders and maintane hold of their lands

Although not as good as the Hulk this movie totaly rocked. Every character with a name is a character from clasic literature. They are all but kicking characters of some sort or another running around in the latter part of the 1800's. (I have already started making them using 350 as a base. And remember Allen was more than just a skilled normal. I would place both him and Thom at the end of Luck. As for Allen he also has the Blessings of africa so he cannot die which I would consider a significant power.)
  18. I would say the complete instant out nature of this power would mean no cost would be to much as a GM. Going with the continuos mind control set effect -1 plus requires ego +30 level -1/2 would be reasonable.
  19. I personally love the art. I am to often stuck with people who have one narrow view of what fantasy gamming is and covers like this as well as all art, is were the flavor for a game originates. After that it is up to the game master to make it bigger and better, but the root is always in the art. The cover has many aspects from fantasy in along with that little edge of magic/power saying these are people above and beyond. I would not have asked for more. I could have though it would have been nice to have a fully holographic cover depicting the beginning and ending of the confrontation. But they probably wont be doing that till well after smell-ovision and tactile-ovision becomes a popular & common technolagy.
  20. Hello I have been getting ready to run a 350 point fantasy game were the players all play the roles of the top thousand or so people on the planet, demi-gods, Arch Wizards and Dukes, The game uses all the standard “Super Heroic†combat and the “Heroic†rules for advancement and spoils. So far the players are excited and I am excited. Has any one else here started a 350 game as Fantasy? If so what did you do in your game, my theme is that the players are all members of the same court and they have roles to play out as the try to defend their people and advance the state. (We have a Knight Martial, a Life Wizard, and a Middle Nobility.)
  21. I have always done sleep as a END Drain I even feel the return rate represents the groggyness that would come afterwards. So to get some one to sleep for a week I would use the extended retern rate then put a -1/4 limitation on it saying all points return at once. (I meen after all how limiting would it be?) Plus putting some one to sleep is basicly the same as defeating them anyways so you might want to OK this power with a GM.
  22. Emergencies baa I would start using this as my standard attack power think of the crime control aspect when villains learn if you even here of them committing a crime you will hunt them down and KILL them out rite.
  23. Is their a way Rules legal to get Missile Deflection for melee attacks. A look at the post “This is Really Frustrating Me†would give you an idea of the original topic. Trying to keep it simple so as not to burn to much of your time. (Keep writing that grimore)
  24. As a game master I would consider it a viable option to allow the character to buy Missle Deflection and ad a +0 Modifier “Meleeâ€. I think this is an interesting topic I have not put much thought in to before. Although I have worked with the martial maneuver “Reversalâ€. That was easy as I used predefined abilities from the book. P.S.: I wonder if Steve has time to reply to this with an idea of his or to put an answer in “Herophiles†in the next DH. As lowly gamers I imagine if we ask him he may respond so I will ask.
  25. How dare you start this blasphemy. To even sigest some one touch someone elses die is akin to asking to break their leg for them... it is just plain wrong. (All the luck would instantly fade and go to the offenders die of course.)
