  1. Healing (regeneration) w/resurrection. resurrection obliges you to define a possibility for your character to die no matter what : here it's : "delete the recipient of my soul". You can also build the soul as a spirit (I.A.) and give it a lto of "affects real world" powers to simulate a body. it was done this way in the old Horror Hero source book for the 4th Edition. other possibility is duplication : one duplicate of the character is a regular PC. the other is a computer; the computer has healing w/resurrection "only to heal duplicate" and eventually ranged, BOECV. finally XD Travel; the character is permanently in another dimension and has clairsentience (transdimensional) to real world and TK transdimensional to real world to simulate the real body. thus he can only be affected by attacks transdimensional (to soul dimension) the thing that holds the life force becomes a susceptibility or a physical limitation. there's probably other possibilities.
  2. why not let the kitten have fun with the villain now he is mouse-sized ? my characters : Copycat (shapeshifter) : kill the kitten herself then shapeshift to a feline humanoid and rip the villain into pieces. Doctor (rastafrian pot-smoking biokinesist) : "try to move your finger now, brotha ... i control your hand, your arm and your gun ... i could play with your fing.. *BANG* oops, errr ... You did it !!! , brotha, you killed the cat !!!. oh maaann !!"
  3. there's several ways to do that : - power : summon - power : duplication - perk : follower as chuckg suggests : Summon automaton (with the mandatory "slavishly loyal" advantage) questions to ask : - if the armor is destroyed; can the PC call another one at once ? - each time the armor is summoned;is the armor fully repaired from previous damage ? if yes, it's definitively summon Limitation : the summon armor will be under GM's control, not player's As Austen Andrews suggests : Duplication (with the advantage "altered duplicate: 100%") The armor and the girl are under player's control Questions to ask : - is the PC suffering any effect from damage done to the armor, because when the two will recombinate their body points will be reajusted - if the armor is destroyed, will the PC lose it forever ? Limitation : the active point cost is disgusting Follower (an automaton): You will have to give the armor a mind link (bond, any distance, any dimension) to the PC and some teleportation XD Travel to the armor but it can be done that way. Questions to ask : - is it the PC "calling" the armor or is it the armor replying to the PC ? - if the armor is destroyed, will the PC lose it forever ? Limitation : you cannot have a follower based on more points that the main character. Question: what's the title of this anime ?; i'm interested
  4. have you included the tanuki ?
  5. by town, i guess you're refering to the lottery : The Lottery by Shirley Jackson (1948) in 1899, Mata-Hari is 23 years old also. You can also take the story of "the horla" by Guy de Maupassant and make the horla a true incubus (the horla (extract) Depending on the level of supernatural in your campaign, you could also take Gaston Leroux's "Phantom of the Opera" (the full book is easy to find in text version on the net)

What do you feel you can offer (Both in Super heroic powers/gifts and your knowledges) to the Power Brigade team? - shape shifting abities (humanoïds) with a good experience - adaptative physiology: can work in various environments, can adapt abilities to situation - broad range of skills ( almost 100 years of profesional experience) - cool and quiet (i know how to stay cool and work with a cortical bomb in my skull) Question 3. Why do you wish to join our team, and what do you hope for if you join? - i wish to join the team - i hope to get a probation by doing some "community work" crap as director Glenn said. Question 4. Have you ever been on a super hero team before? If so, which one(s) and why are you no longer a member? - err, not exactly super hero ... 1915 : brief association with a girl "mata-hairi, mata-harry" something like that 1938-1945 : member of the R.A.F. (nazis were the bad guys so i guess it counts as "super hero" stuff, no ?). 1991 - 1994 : member of the Arsenal organisation. moved away with their cash, they're currently hunting me. 2002 - 2003 : member of UNICORN, secret UNO team for covert operations along with other crim... err agents. ended when program cancelled Question 5. YOU WERE RECORDING THAT !!!! Question 6. How often will you be availible to fight crime and save the world? What schedule would be best for you? well, i don't need to sleep but i must register at Stronghold every evening. location can be negociated with director Glenn Question 7: Do you have some disability, ailment, or other situation (Occasional Demonic possession, intense allergy to space rocks, etc) that our scientists, doctors, and mystics should take into account? Only fractional memories prior to 1920 no memories prior to 1887. as i got no memories of my early years and as my physiology is really adaptative; i don't know if i'm male or female; i suffer form regular shifts of behavior (i.e. i act sometimes as a man, sometimes as a woman). this tends to disturb other team members. Question 8. To what degree do you comply with the law? Are you registered? i'm registered ... somehow ... Question 9. Will you be able to provide your own transporation to and from the Power Brigade HQ? Stronghold will provide a cellular van to transport me to your HQs Question 10. How may we contact you should we be interested in having you join? (Phone, mystic mirror, large signal, etc) Ask for director Glenn, Stronghold state prison, case "probation of inmate 45DF985". Please include any additional notes about yourself you feel are relevant below: Thank you for your interest in the Power Brigade. All aplications will be reviewed, if no response in 4-6 weeks, it is likely the team is currently filled.
  7. Here are some ideas but frankly your people really like complicated issues !! #1 : wasp-oïd inspirations : real world ichneumon. Wings : wasp wings Tail : articulated tail with venomous sting (HKA) animal form : giant wasp entangle : paralyzing poison injected through sting. (common way for the real world wasps to paralyze a prey before laying an egg inside) #2 : moth inspirations : real world silkworm/silk moth Wings : butterfly wings Tail : worm tail, can be used as a third foot (knockback resistance) animal form : giant butterfly entangle : silk cocoon #3 : worm-oïd inspirations : caterpillars, sea cucumber, some kind of weird african worm i once saw in a documentary, a kind of missing link between worm and insects Wings : ? Tail : prehensile tail with suction cups (clinging) animal form : giant worm/caterpillar entangle : project a sticky goo from its mouth, sea cucumber alternative : projects some parts of its internal organs (intestines) on the target to entangle it (yes, it's disgusting) #4 : reptiloid inspirations : real world indonesian flying dragon, cobra, stegosaurus, ankylosaurus Wings : retractable gliding membrane (see flying dragon) Tail : "spiked mace" tail (a la stegosaurus/ankylosaurus : HKA or HTH) animal form : giant lizard-like creature entangle : hypnotic gaze (entangle w/LOS and need eye contact, use EGO instead of strength ) #5 : eeloid inspirations : electric eel, exocet (flying fish) Wings : exocet "wings" Tail : fish tail or a flipper (swimming) animal form : giant eel entangle : paralyzing electrical shock (entangle w/no range) #6 : batoid inspirations : bats, marsupials Wings : bat wings Tail : short bat tail (levels of manoeuvrability in flight ?) animal form : giant bat entangle : wraps its opponent in its wings (entangle w/ backlash and no range) #7 : squirreloid inspirations : flying squirrel, skunk Wings : patagium (gliding membrane) Tail : squirrel tail (COM ??) animal form : flying skunk entangle : paralyzing toxic spray (see slunk spray, but paralyzing AND stinky) #8 : spider-oïd Based on real world spiders and scorpions Wings : errr ... i knew there was a problem; maybe beetle wings ? Tail : scorpion tail ? animal form : giant spider entangle : spider web.
  8. Personals See you on Sunday night robbery at CalTech Factory. You: cute red haired fire-wielding villainess. Call the magazine Ref : #1254833B Rent sharing Single alien organism, recently relocated seek people, good-looking, non-smoking, preferently single w/paid activity for symbiosis, common activities and body sharing. please send DNA samples before applying.
  9. another bug : "shape alteration powers" link is pointing to "size alteration powers" page.
  10. IMHO it's legal but a summoned being is under the GM's control not the player's
  11. From the Hero FAQ : now your point : yep, a "linked" lmimitation at -1/4 on one of the power or, better, the "cannot recombine" limitation (-0) on duplication should do the trick (as : form A multiforms to form B. as form B has duplication with the "cannot recombine" lim; B automatically splits into B1 and B2 (0 phase action; would i even say). first, i think i made a error : i'm unsure Dispel would work since it must be used at the very moment the targeted power is used but let's go with Drain or Suppress. Personally, i'd say that if the character is not affected by the Suppression unless he's in the right conditions (original form and duplicate in adjacent hexes) but that would be a weird situation : character A has duplication (the regular, without advantages) character B has duplication with "ranged recombination". B is actually more vulnerable to Suppress and drain than A since he only has to be in LOS of his duplicate to be affected ??? (some might object that, as B has more active points in his duplication, he's actually less vulnerable; that's also a point). I think "inherent" should be a mandatory advantage fro duplication in this case. another solution for harsh GMs : if the original form and his duplicate cannot recombine while affected by a drain/suppress then the duplicate *dies*.
  12. Okayyyyyy Yes, i confused you JmOz : sorry !! i agree on your point a last note, Memorax; to get different abilities for each duplicate you will have to take the advantage "altered duplicates" (see "Duplication" in the Powers section) on duplication (whoever takes it)
  13. Yup!! Something i never allow in my game since potentially abusive. that's why i forgot this point thanx. or eventually a "linked" limitation. I think i miss your point. i don't really understand : you mean you have to have duplication and multiform on the same sheet ? Honestly i fail to see why : A is merged form B1 and B2 are the duplicates. case 1) concept : merged form is base form. form A has multiform to B form B has duplication to B1 and B2 A is the merged form so when un-merging, - A transforms into B. - B duplicates into B1 and B2. "Suppress" Multiform while the PC is duplicated makes him revert back to the merged form "Suppress" Multiform while the PC is merged has no effect case 2) concept : duplicated form is base form. form B has multiform to A form B has duplication to B1 and B2 A is the merged form so when un-merging, - A revert back to B. - B duplicates into B1 and B2. "Suppress" Multiform while the PC is duplicated has no effect "Suppress" Multiform while the PC is merged makes him revert back to the duplicated form
  14. Re: Merge Ability i think this has been discussed before and the subject is also mentioned in the Ultimate Vehicle (in the MECH chapter) it's a combination of multiform and duplication : the character has two forms (multiform) : one -the un-merged form- has duplication (eventually with the limitation "cannot recombine") the other -the merged form- doesn't have duplication thus the duplicates must morph together to the merged form. which form buy the multiform on is up to you. buying duplication and multiform on the same sheet make (comparatively) weaker duplicates and stronger merged form buying duplication on one sheet and multiform on the other balances the two aspects (the un-merged form will have roughtly the same level of power than the merged one)
  15. yep but you can be affected by a nerve gas or any other aggressive environmental effect when you're outside of your suit. secondly, while in suit, you cannot be affected by toxic gases or aerial poisons thus you've got 20 points of immunity for free : true and false. A villain could perfectly put toxines in your air supply ... If you're the target of a bacteriological attack while in suit : no problem; but you will have to go through the full decontamination program before being able to remove safely the suit. All things you would not have to do with a natural immunity. if "Focus" is taken as a limitation then the GM has to play it from time to time. ita missa est
  16. oops, once again, i tape an answer too fast. i wondered where i took this certainty. please accept all my excuses
  17. i don't agree myself with my players about this. but the fact is : i don't see why i should force them to dress in uniforms if they dont want to. Actually their inspirations are coming more from the recent "super-heroes" movies where costumes are not really the norm ( X-Men I & II, Blade I & II, Batman) where actually dark leather suits is more important than colorful clothing it's in the "Vigilante" attitude (so they say). And the campaign world is very dark and grim, evry different from the C.U. but closer to the 4ed Dark Champions game. i just propose them to define the game world as they would like to have it and they came with the idea that shining oufits were out of topic. considering that the PCs are non-citizens, hunted by police or members of secret US Army cells ... err the nod-to-the-law thing ... ya see ... judging their choice as "SILLY" is maybe a bit harsh. people (and especially gamers) have got very different tastes. Secondly; i'm preparing for these same players a supervillain campaign in the Champions Universe (first time i will really use the setting BTW). they're already designing their outfits for it. (i must see the first drafts tomorrow night)
  18. Which makes think, Starlord, i still wonder how your avatar's costume can stay in place with all this bouncy-bouncy thing ? My players, although in a Vigilante campaign came with the idea that only drag-queens and Spiderman could wear spandex bodysuits. So the team : Blade (based on W. Snipes' character) : same as in the movie Urban (based on Authority's Jack Hawksmoor) : regular suit. Rico (south-amercian super-soldier) : military fatigues and gear Blast (based on X-Man Bishop) : reinforced normal clothes, trenchcoat. Full Moon (werewolf) :normal clothes in human ID, naked in "crinos" form.
  19. Re: Balanced Enemy Party Wrong !! re-read the Duplication power in FREd : "each duplicate has to pay for the power" so Elisabeth spends 50 points for the power and so do Wendy !!
  20. yup Three Crowns for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for the Mortal Men doomed to die, And, for the Snake Crown : One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne (...) One Crown to rule them all, One Crown to find them, One Crown to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
  21. As Jeff said : there's little tradition about pure kinetic force. the concept is rather recent (the XIXth century probably). the closest i can think of for the Gold Crown would be in the european fairy tales : there's countless stories of the devil building bridges/walls/castles in one night/day. (but it's an possible USE of the crown and not an origin as you asked it) Krim actually forged the crown with the gold coins given to Charon by the damned crossing the Styx (in the middle ages, it became 30 denarii for the devil). its first bearer was an demon who loved to pass for the Devil and actually built the catles with his own telekinetic powers (the crown only enhanced them). Unfortunately he actually angered the real Old Scratch who destroys it. The crown fell on earth during the battle. the very essence of this demon (and his powers)are still inside maybe ... nobody came yet with a story for the snake crown. for the additional crowns; i like the idea of the emerald crown and the "forest crown". i was thinking myself about a "crystal crown" or "diamond crown" for ice powers and a "moon(stone) crown" for illusions/images
  22. Re: Desolidifcation i would charge it a -0 limitation IIRC the description of the power precises that the PC must be vulnerable to some attacks it depends of the limitation above but i would accept a -1/4 or -1/2 limitation if the class of attacks affecting the PC is really broad (considering that the limitation "do not protect from damage" is -1) i'm unsure of of your question : if the PC is desolid and affected by fire/radiation can he be vulnerbale to fire/radiation at the same time ? I would do that as a side effect Side effect (major): vulnerable to fire/radiation: -1/2 or a plain disadvantage. Vulnerable to fire (common) (20 points) - only when desolid : -1/2 ==> 13 points disadv. i would say yes but its the GM's discretion and YOU are the GM.
  23. Gold crown : it made me think of the death of the roman Crassus : "And the Parthians, as some say, poured molten gold into his mouth in mockery; for though a man of vast wealth, he had set so great store by money as to pity those who could not support an enrolled legion from their own means, regarding them as poor men" (XL.27)." (Plutarch) Actually, the parthians unknowingly reproduced the old unholy ritual used for the creation of the gold crown. The gold crown has been forged with gold poured in the mouth of seven vanquished kings (and remolten each time of course). (why seven; it's mystical; that's why) edit : i also found this was a way for some indians to execute spagniards during the 1590's in Latin America. edit 2: i remember somehow there's a hell where the avaricious and greedy have molten gold poured in their mouth; i thought it was Dante's Inferno but i cannot find the reference. Otherwise : Aside the six official crowns (iron, gold, blood, stone, shadow, snake) anyone has ideas for new crowns ?
  24. Re: A Morbane Redeemed? several possibilities : As Siberian Tiger pointed it "see the light", "born again" - While summoning a demon, the morbane accidently draw the attention of a powerful angelic being. The angel easliy destroys the morbane's demon and shines its light upon the morbane; the morbane is transfigured (spiritual transform in game terms). - variant : the morbane forces a white magician to summon an angel so the morbane would destroy it and gain prestige. The morbane loses the fight ... the angel shows him the light. Sanctity and hilarity ensue. - variant : the morbane has been possessed by an angel (liturgic radiation incident) and is "corrupted" by its purity. - variant : the morbane is bitten by a radioactive angel. the prupose of the plot: conversion by a "angel/holy spirit/white lighter/etc..." the opposite "see the true darkness" The morbane came to see what really happens to the damned (suffering and so on) and realized he will doomed at the end (literally) no matter how mucj power he gains in his life. By fear of damnation, he tries to redeem himself. the purpose of the plot : give the morbane a fear deep enough to have him realize what it is to be damned. "fight fire with (hell)fire" The morbane actually always seeked to fight evil but he tried to fight it with its own weapons, infiltrated DEMON ... and get corrupted by its philosophy. he came to his mind again and, desperate about his failure tries to redeem himself. the purpose of the plot : The morbane has to realize he's in DEMON (self-hypnotized maybe) to actually fight the organization. "no more evil in me" The morbane X has tried to merge with a demon (see Morningstar in CKC). the ritual went bad and the other morbanes had to un-merge the two beings (demon and morbane X) but doing so, they took off all the evil from the morbane's soul (which goes to the demon' "soul"). The morbane cannot think of evil anymore The purpose of the plot : the morbane has been "amputated" of his evil. i'm sure there's plenty of other ideas
  25. Re: Your Meta-Plot. i usually center my metaplots on the PC's story sometimes in the world history. Campaign 1 : my very first Champions campaign; set in the Marvel Universe, 20 years after Onslaught (but without Heroes return). no magic, no extra-terrestrials (although extra-dimensional beings were allowed). The team : mutants on the run; a kind of X-Force Almasty : russian ex-soldier; were-"nasty hairy thing with big claws and bad temper" (like Sasquatch or Wendigo) Eclipse : Teleporting ninja formerly member of the Hand Lift : TK Scan : Telepath, twin sister of Lift. Metaplot : The twin sisters were not twin sisters but "simili-clones" actually Mr Sinister bio-engineered them and implant them into women through in-vitro fecondation. Throughout the campaig; the PCs discovered the others clones (a pyrokinetic nun, a girl with astral projection, another with cyberkinetics) rand uncovered Sinister plot : all the clones were genetic alterations of Jean Grey.
