  1. Re: CU team study: Eurostar Both great ideas! Procter & Gamble is based here. God knows what would happen if Fiacho got a hold of our floating soap technology. Museums are always a good hook too.
  2. My campaign world, like myself, takes place in Cincinnati, Ohio. Just 250 miles south of Millennium City, we have a lot of activity for a small-to-mid sized midwestern city. Sadly, I could never think of a good reason for Eurostar to be here so their use was always limited to the battle royal on the Rosie's Diner street map. Stealing things always seemed below them. That's what GRAB is for. My players loved to fight these guys too.
  3. Re: Champions Universe: Character studies Ogre's writeup in the Ultimate Brick is pretty nasty (about 395 points). Mostly brick tricks.
  4. Re: Champions Universe: Character studies This thread made me pull out my old Classic Enemies. The subjects were originally Ray (but you can call him Ray Jay), Radium and Armadillo.
  5. Re: Champions Universe: Character studies The Project Sunburst from Champions Universe (5th ed) says it took place in 1994 and the goal of the program was to measure the effects of nuclear war. I'm ok with this, I guess but nuclear war seemed to be a more common theme in the late 80's when the program was first discussed in the Enemies book(s). I think if I were to run a Project Sunburst-themed campaign I would go full-on super soldier program.
  6. Re: Champions Universe: Character studies Speaking of super-soldiers in CU, I would pay good money for a Project Sunburst book.
  7. Re: Any reviews coming for the various Champions Villains books? Now that all three villain books are released (featuring many villains I have bought as many as 3 times previously ), I wonder if there will be a bundle deal for buying the trifecta.
  8. Re: Update On The Conversion... What genre did you play?
  9. Re: Hero Games Now On Twitter Awesome! I have one followee
  10. Re: Just what is Luck to you? TheQuestionMan has a pretty cool homegrown Luck house rule. Do a search for Champions of Vancouver. i think he described it in a campaign log.
  11. Re: Which older modules should I get next? My vote is Hero System Almanac 2 or even Dark Champions 4th ed. The fact I am selling these so I could get the new villains book(s) has nothing to do with my suggestion
  12. Re: CU Character Study: Vanguard Vanguard has never been officially written up, has he? I like that too. He was awesome, that is all you need to know
  13. Re: CU Character Study: Vanguard Repped!
  14. I am a big fan of the Champions Universe. My campaign world has taken place in the CU since the beginning (with some minor fitting of course). In the vein of the WWYCD and Campaign:XXX threads, I would like to pick the collective brains of Herodome Assembled to explore some of our favorite CU characters further. Start a new thread entitled: "CU Character Study #X: character name." We can discuss how you've used the character, your favorite illustration(s), changes you've made to fit them into your campaigns etc. I've read the user-submitted "from little plot seeds mighty games..." threads and I think these threads could be a lot of fun!
  15. Re: New Product: Champions Villains Volume One: Master Villains I can't help but notice Panda has been snubbed again as a master villain. Start ruing, world!!
  16. I am a big fan of the Marvel arc Age of Apocalypse and would love to know how it would play out in the CU. Has anyone run (or played in) such a campaign? If you were to run such a game, how would you set the stage, involve the heroes and who are the big bads?
  17. Re: 6th ed updates for Mechanon and Dr Destroyer? Well, I bought Enemies, Enemies 2, Enemies 3, Classic Enemies and Conquerors Killers and Crooks. I suppose I need to make some room on that shelf
  18. Re: 6th ed updates for Mechanon and Dr Destroyer? I don't expect HD to convert. That's ok. I can do that. What I was hoping was the HD packs available in the store would include 6th ed versions. Oh well.
  19. I bought The Book of the Machine at GenCon last year to console myself for going home without a hard copy of 6th ed. I loved it. I finally got my 6th ed books and started the laborious task of updating my characters to 6th. Ok, I'll admit. I actually enjoyed the process. My campaign world and it's denizens have gotten a reboot with every edition. I recently bought Book of the Destroyer and have enjoyed it immensely. The problem is, my "new" sourcebooks were outdated before I even bought them. Are there any sources for 6th ed updates? Are the HD packs for Books of the Machine & Destroyer updated or are they still in 5th ed? I haven't upgraded my Hero Designer to 6th yet but I gladly would if it would ease my conversion load. I'm not complaining about this and would appreciate if responders would follow suit. Does any one have any ideas on the best way to proceed to have 6th ed updated character sheets from these two wonderful books?
  20. I'm in the market for an awesome McGuffin. An item of power that, if evidence of it's whereabouts became known, would send many of the denizens of the Champions Universe scrambling to find it. I could home-grow one but the CU is full of McGuffinny goodness. The Mandragalore, Serpent Lantern and Basilisk Orb are good candidates, I think. Have any of these actually been written up in or at least been described as to what they do? The writeup(s) would be cool but not necessary. I would just like to know what a character or organization would gain by possessing it/them. Are there other grand Mcguffins in the CU? Do any of your have any interesting home-growns to share?
  21. Re: Champions movie Oh my God, I am an old, old man. The reference was from 1983. Sorry about that. I should have suggested Witchcraft be some young hottie like Jane Wyman or Goldie Hawn. James Watt was talking about his staff and said "..no one could argue with our selection...I have a black, a woman, two Jews and a cripple. And we have talent".
  22. Re: Champions movie James Watt would approve
  23. Re: Champions movie The CKC illo of Menton reminds me of Tom Cruise in Magnolia. Say what you will about Mr Cruise's off-screen persona but he would knock Menton out of the park.
  24. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Seventy Sevens - Ping Pong over the Abyss. Ah, the eighties.
