Perhaps, but I think new questions about the gods would arise. Assuming the deity in question didn't just spill the beans directly and entirely, I can see his most faithful clergy looking for locations of manifestations (Was their deity 'born' anywhere in the world of men, did he shed tears that fell to the earth, etc) and trying to make connections. Theologial studies could be quite an exciting field if you end up on dungeon runs just to find where visions of the god were said to have been granted.
Then there's also the option that the gods might not draw their strength from faith, but if you are using a system where each god has a porfolio (God of War, Goddess of Love, etc) then maybe their speciality feeds them far more than faith ever could. A god of war might really feel his oats on a battlefield, and proverbial Goddess of Love might get a happy buzz when her priests prevent the local Romeo and Juliet from dying too soon. etc.
