UPDATE 2: For those of you that have abilities that let you look back in time: The Superbeings disappeared like they were holograms being broadcast and they were disrupted and flickered and disappeared in a static flash. Like the Hologram in Ultraviolet after they shot the car and cell phone.

  6. After a mission in space lasting several weeks, You (and your team) return to good ol Earth. When you getback, you pick up nothing on the radio about superheroes or supervillians. NOTHING. When you return to your base, it has been mothballed for about a week. About an hour after you arrive there, your government liaison drives up. She(he) looks very surprised to see you. She asks you "Do you know when all the other superbeings will be returning?" Upon noticing your confused looks, She says "You don't know what happened do you? All of the world's superbeings vanished 3 weeks ago." This places it about 2 days after you left the planet. None of earth's remaining top scientists have been able to determine how they disappeared or where they went. The number of scientists and millionaires that turned out to be superbeings is mind-boggling The economy of the world was severely damaged. it is just now starting to recover. The governments of the world are starting to caught up on repairing the damage super-fights have caused because no more are going on. Even the super agencies have lost there best trained and altered members. Viper has not raised its head the whole time the superbeings have been gone. What would You do?

  12. Re: Rifter's Campaign Steal...Steal....Steal....Steal....Steal....Steal....Steal....Steal. I am stealing this for my sci-fi campaign. With a few minor modifications to fit my campaign. The reason no-one remembers where Earth is located at, is the Insanity plague that happened when the old Terran empire fell. A group of religious fanatics, believing God brought the plague to punish mankind for its sins, erased any record of earth from every database they could find. Then formed the Religion that is followed in your campaign. Fifth dimensional space/reality is something the human mind can't comprehend. This space/reality leaking into our space/time is what caused the 'plague'. An 'antidote' has been discovered. It is not widespread exactly what it really is. It is a nano-matrix that protects the human mind from 5th dim S/R caused insanity. The Rifter campaign makes a great new sector/ adversary for my campaign. Different tech survived, like the original hyperdrive. Which is different than the hyperdrive in the Terran sector, which is more like the old Traveller Jump drive. Engage and you are cut off from the universe for a week. I have no interstellar radio. All interstellar communications are done by Hypertorp. Which take 3 days to get to its destination, each way.

  15. Re: Fire portals Actually, I am planning to go the multiform route. Each element has its own personality. Fire is hot tempered. Air is flighty. Water is very laid back. Earth is very Stalwart, and serious. Each will have some unique power just for them. Like only earth will have entangle. I like the idea that I would need that element available to jump-start my power. call -1/4 Also This gives me an Idea. Instead of an Activation roll How about a De-activation roll? If he misses it the portal gets wider and something start trying to get thru. Like a fire demon maybe?
  16. I am trying to create a character and have run into a problem. Too high a cost. Mainly because I can't seem to come up with a good set of limitations for the character. Here is what I am trying to do: The character is a living portal between our world and the elemental planes. However, he can only consciously access one them at a time. SO if he access the elemental plane of fire all of his powers are based on fire. for example he has fire jet. Rka defined as Hellfire Flight as rocket power. He can teleport. Missile deflection defined as opening a small portal and sending the attack to the elemental plane. And force field defined as dimensional shunt. Suppress vs fire would not weaken him because if you try, you are trying to suppress the entire plane of fire. Good Luck. However suppressing dimensional based powers will affect him normally. In fact, hes is vulnerable to trans-dimensional powers. The way his powers work is based on the principal that nature hates a vacuum. Open a portal and the element comes shooting out like a jet. He has enough control to form it into the form he needs such as a jet or flight. Teleport is done by moving himself thru the portal to the elemental plane. Yes He does have e-dim movement but only to the elemental planes, based on what element he is using. So if he is using air, He can't go the elemental plane of water or fire. Only to the plane of air. I need a good set of limitations. Suggestions please?

  19. Re: Speedster Tactics having read all of this i have this to say: Quit letting your opponent choose the battleground. You choose the battle ground. You are a speedster. Use it have a running battle. Spread them out. hit them from different directions. Be unpredictable. Don't let them group up on you. If they start to, spend a couple of phases getting away from them.. and cause them to spread out again. And above all: KEEP MOVING!!!!
  20. Re: Entangling giants Another thing that hasn't been brought up is entangles making walls. There are rules about how much volume an entangle covers when making walls out of it instead of entangling someone. Just use these rules for entangling large characters. If the entangle, as a wall, will cover the same amount of space as the giant is tall, then it will entangle him normally. If it doesn't cover the space, it doesn't entangle the giant.
  21. Re: Foxbat: A place in your campaign? In my campaign his best friend is just a much a comic book loon as he is. His friend: STARMITE, the Ultimate superfan. He is an autograph hound. will do nearly anything to get an autograph. He also believes he is the greatest superhero ever. And yes he does believe he is living in a comic book: STARMITE the Ultimate Superhero. He knows more about superbeings and their powers and secrets then they do themselves. He and Foxbat play Champions Live Action Roleplay. The problem is they don't tell anybody else this is what they are doing. hilarity follows. p.s. STARMITE was given a powersuit by Strike Force after they had to rescue his butt one time too many. This was like throwing gasoline on fire. it may put the fire out at first but when that gas evaporates and becomes fumes, you have a conflagration of an explosion.
