One of Lady P's oldest friends is in the hospital with COVID-19. He's been there for several days, and a couple of days ago he went on a ventilator. He has pneumonia and may be developing blood clots. He's strong, but the prognosis isn't good.
 
For the curious, yes, he's a COVID/vaccine conspiracy theorist.
 
His wife abandoned him and their four kids a couple of years ago because she didn't want to be a mother and wife anymore. If he doesn't make it, those kids are going to be stuck with an egg donor (I won't call her a Mom) who has already made it clear that she doesn't want them.

I'm so sorry your wife has to watch her friend going through this, Pariah. That is the worst part of COVID denial. People may take risks with their own lives, but those who love them also pay the price.

It's a bit extravagant I know, but it was his birthday and he looks great in a Tuxedo.

Slice of tomato, mustard, lettuce (prefer a whole folded leaf of iceberg), sliced bread-and-butter pickle.

Sometimes instead of hamburgers I’ll do up a skillet of Sloppy Joe’s. 
Break up two BIG burgers worth of meat per person and start that to frying up. Then chop up some onion (red, white or some of both) mushrooms and some green peppers and add all that.  Drain off any excess fat/grease.  Then a few splashes of either Worcestershire or soy sauce and take what ever spices you enjoy. (I prefer Mrs. Dash & garlic powder) Now add one beaten egg and mix in well. When that’s all done to a nice crispness finish it off with equal amounts of Ketchup and B-B-Q sauce.
   Either scoop over two two toasted buns or put in a bowl and top with shredded cheese.  All amounts are to taste.

Rather hyperbolic. The anti-vaccine protests are real and problematic, but not nearly as numerous as this article implies. Protest crowds have been pretty small, nowhere close to what's been seen in parts of the United States. And they didn't "spawn" a far-right resurgence. That was already underway, the anti-vax movement was just co-opted by them, or the opposite. Again, far below the extent we're seeing in America and other countries.
