1. Re: Art to concept previous entries pre vote thread The lich would be General Bones, wouldn't it? I think Jonathan Wyke (Dr. Destiny) was going to do him up. If so, maybe the General can be replaced with Agent Wu, or some other idea I've given.
2. Re: Weird Animal Species for Your Games This octopus looks like a probable evolutionary ancestor of the squibbon.
3. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Some of your bast work so far.

5. Re: The Cape - What do you think of it so far? I actually am quite impressed with what they're doing. It's still early, and the show's still getting its "legs" on what the world is like. Unlike many older shows, it didn't have a pilot that just established everything and then left everything static until a cast change; information is given a little at a time, characters continue to develop with each episode, and we learn more about the world bit by bit. Orwell appeared at first to be very Oracle-like, but she's quickly developed into something much more so that the resemblance is mostly superficial. (And I strongly disagree about her being written in as a love interest for Vince. Maybe for Rollo.) I think Summer Glau is probably glad to have a TV role that's "mentally normal" (after River Tam, Tess Doerner, and Cameron Phillips), and I hope the show lasts a long time, if only for her sake. I do think the producers went into their "Create Your Own Villain" contest a bit prematurely. Only four episodes aired before the deadline, and nearly half the entries I've looked at on the list don't really fit the show's concept and milieu (not that very many of those submitters seem to have read the rules, with the "no superpowers" part being fairly explicit). We needed more time to get the feel of the thing. Still, they probably could populate the entire second season's villains from those fan submissions.

7. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Se7en Brides for Slevin's Brothers
8. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Update: The submissions for villains on The Cape has now closed, with a total of 980 submissions. I've found Silencer at 949; I haven't been able to find Payload (I used the first pic).
9. Re: Tropes Revisited: Beautiful Female Martial Artist. Ideas sought My clown suggestion was mostly facetious, but this one wasn't: And what Ranxerox posted could possibly be combined with my first post.
10. Re: Undead Labor: why not? Given that much of the discussion has been using zombies as food-handlers, this would probably be more like "wokking" dead.
11. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I found the old (2009) Fabrica, and did up another submission for "The Cape." This one is Silencer, a Hindi-American woman who specializes in supremely concealed weapons. Her hairpins have poison-tipped needles; her stiletto heels have real stilettos; and her favorite weapon is her belt, which becomes an urumi.
12. Re: Tropes Revisited: Beautiful Female Martial Artist. Ideas sought That depends on how tight the dress is.
13. Re: Tropes Revisited: Beautiful Female Martial Artist. Ideas sought One more model for a beautiful female martial artist just came to my mind: a clown, using slapstick martial arts (aka Stooge-Fu). Put her in the big floppy shoes, a frilly pink dress with purple polka dots, white gloves, makeup, and a bright green mullet wig, ready to Do Her Thing with a rubber chicken in each hand.
14. Re: Tropes Revisited: Beautiful Female Martial Artist. Ideas sought I'm looking forward to this. Is the plan to let the candidates on the vote thread be determined by the agree/disagree consensus?
15. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Storn, whatever you post in the way of art is always welcome around here. You could do a portrait of Osiris and it would be Teh Awesome.
16. Re: New Look for Defender I agree with the comments posted here. This look is powered armor; the other one is, at best, gadgeteer-esque.
17. Re: Undead Labor: why not? Of course there's still the issue of what to do about lunch breaks.
18. Re: Estimated date for affordable and portable Augmented Reality? I'd say a bit longer than that. Maybe in ten years certain types of professional will use them on the job, but it'll be a while before they're useful for everyone. The professionals that come right to mind for me are soldiers, Secret Service agents, police (mainly SWAT and fugitive retrieval), firefighters, security guards, surgeons, miners, sports referees, and ghost hunters. These are the types that may need information on their situation requiring either constant monitoring or immediate attention.
19. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine The TV show The Cape is running a villain creation contest, and I'm thinking to enter. My main problem is that entries have to be accompanied by an illo, and I'm a rather poor sketch artist. So I went and used a couple of the online character creators (and feeling frustrated because the English menus were taken off Fabrica). The character is Payload, a man with both acromegaly and myostatin-based muscular hypertrophy. The combination makes him HUGE, not to mention massively strong. He's a gentle giant (as are most people with either of those two conditions), coerced into crime by the show's main villain. These are the two pictures I was able to work up, and I'd like opinions on which represents the character better. (Or maybe someone can use Fabrica, or even your own hands, to do something even better than this.)
20. Re: Heromachine and similar applications Bumping for exposure.
21. Re: Side effects of eating alien fauna and flora? I figure you can just listen to the side-effects disclaimer in any TV commercial for a prescription drug and pick from that list. "Side effects may include memory loss, itchy rashes, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, memory loss, episodes of walking or driving while sleeping and not remembering the event afterward, confusion, increased blood pressure, memory loss... uh... did I mention memory loss? Oh, and consult your physician if you have an erection lasting more than-- wait a minute! Oh, dear God...."
22. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I'm guessing, from his necktie, that if he doesn't like you he'll just pound you.
23. Re: 10 weirdest new animals of 2010 I'm disappointed that I missed this when it was first posted. I find it fascinating.
