Unfortunately, they do have eyelids, so they have to blink and that means they can miss things easily. (I can see people saying: "Whaaaat?!?" Gimme a minute.) So as to have an unblinking view of chickens' enemies, as well as vast numbers of minions, enormous and poorly-known personal powers, and an already militarized country to use as a power base, and generally be the dreaded enemy of all unfeathered bipeds, we choose something to make Chickenman the Dark Meat Lord, the Chicken with the Lidless Eye ... we draft Sauron the Great. No-one suspects that a frail old dignitary like Warfa could be the 8-foot warrior she becomes. Hey, you know whose gimmick is a lot like She-Ra already?
