Re: The cranky thread

I was supposed to get a permanent crown in my tooth today. Guess what? The crown they made wasn't done correctly, so they had to put in another temporary crown. This means I was in the dentist's chair longer and experienced more pain. :thumbdown:mad:

At least I wasn't charged for this visit.

You should've keyed his car on the way out.

Gah! I hate chronic headaches! I've had this muther since yesterday afternoon. I took 4 tylenol this morning' date=' and it ain't done squat.[/quote']

Ow. Though watch the tylenol, that can damage the liver. Especially if mixed with alchohol. Though IIRC, you don't drink. Or am I thinking someone else.

Re: The cranky thread

Ok. Not only am I loopy, I'm now f***ing cranky. Show up at a friend's surprise birthday party. Another person there informs me that the two cats he's got have gotten loose since Sat morning. These two cats were two of my favorites at the shelter. it doesn't help that they're actually his girlfriend's cats. She's staying with us and the only reason we didn't take the two cats was because we're boarding another cat this weekend.

So, I left the party early and went over and we caught one of the cats. The one I'm worried about though hasn't been seen since the escape. :(

I set a humane trap in a likely spot and am crossing my fingers. But right now, I just want to hit something.

Nope. That avatar offended someone, so I stopped usin' it. :)

What you do with your monitor in the privacy of your own home is nobody's business but yours. ;)

Do all portal servers suck like this? Hours of installation and patching' date=' hours of intricate configuration, outdated documentation, and then it all doesn't work?[/quote']

No.

There are some very good hosting services out there.

Re: The cranky thread

I was using IBM Websphere, but I've found that it doesn't come with enough features built in. So now I'm working on Sun Java Enterprise System Portal Server, which might be okay by itself but it kind of requires that you install a lot of the other bits of Sun Java Enterprise System. The documentation for both of these is less than stellar.

Part of the problem is that I'm kind of trying to do this in my spare time, of which there is very little, so I'm constantly being interrupted and rushed, and it's the kind of intricate process that requires long spans of undivided attention.

Damn near got run off the road again tonight by some old lady who couldn't be bothered to check her blind spot or flip her turn signal. I don't have that many pet peeves when driving, but putting your car on a collision course with mine is definitely one of them.
