Re: Musings on Random Musings

"One abiding thing that Hitch and I shared was a passionate hatred of the Christmas season. He rightly saw it as a fascistic enterprise to insist that your mood be in sync with everyone else. And that your mood also be happy. F@$% that."

Andrew Sullivan, on Christopher Hitchens

@Mr Sullivan, Yeah, nothing like communal happiness that makes everyone happy.

Yeah, nothing like emotional and social blackmail to enforce conformity with the community standards.

Re: Musings on Random Musings

News flash! Numerology is bogus!

Nothing special happend at 11 seconds past 11:11* on November 11, in the year 1111** (i.e., on 1111/11/11 11:11:11)!

*Which 'special' time zone are we talking about, or did this nothing happen 24 times? And is that AM or PM?

**Naturally, only the Julian/Gregorian calendar can be used in Date/Time Numerology.

hahahahahhahahahhaaha

I can only fantasize about what Martin Gardner might have done with all this calendric numerology nonsense.

Knock 'em dead' date=' Chad![/quote']

Interview One is done.

They want to schedule a second one for the first week of the year.

I think I'm a good fit, know I can do the work.

There's some minuses (notably part time = no bennies) but...they're willing to pay me at least as much as I was making full time before. So I could continue my education...and it's in my field. Basically I'd be the help desk so the other two IT guys could work at other projects.

But we'll see. I think I did fine, didn't hit it out of the park...but they've had the opening for a while and interviewed a few people already.
