WWYCD: The Destruction Of The Conqueror

(This is primarily for those running a universe with atleast some similarities to the standard CU, otherwise just substitute Tyrannon with the closest analog you have in your world)

For some time now, your world has been plagued by Tyrannon the Conqueror and his minions...until just recently. There has been an unusually long lull in the attacks from his forces; not so much as one of his Emissaries has set foot in your realm. Upon mustering up the courage to crossover into Tyronnon's home dimension to investigate, you are soon shocked to find the lifeless husk that was once Tyrannon's most powerful form, the mighty Tree Throne. Asking around, you find out that Tyrannon in his supreme arrogance recently invaded the domain of another dimension lord, someone nobody's seen or heard of previously, and was handed a humiliating defeat. Tyrannon's lesser forms and his flunkies are now either dead, imprisoned, or have fled to parts unknown. As you might expect, no one seems too broken up about what happened to Tyrannon, and indeed, some openly say he got what he deserved. Still little is known about this new dimension lord who defeated him. WWYCD?

Terminus would go to the new dimension lord's plane, and politely thank him for eliminating a threat to our dimension, at the same time checking whether this new guy looks like a threat himself. Oh, an take the opportunity to try to open diplomatic relations.

Microman II: ( assuming this is after Tyrannon made himself known ) While this would normally be considered good news, Microman can think of at least two problems. The obvious is that whoever ganked Tyrannon isn't necessarily benign, and is a complete unknown. Given that Tyrannon is pretty much the most powerful dimensional lord, this might hint whatever killed him wasn't simply another dimension lord.

Secondly, Tyrannon had two main rivals- Skarn and Istvatha. Both are now down one enemy. That means, among other things, more resources available for attacking Earth. Time to man the bulwarks. . .

( Microman II doesn't have extensive knowledge of d-lords as such, but assuming an extended conflict with Tyrannon, he'd end up learning, and memorizing, such from applicable knowledge sources )

Hermes: No real direct analogues to Tyrannon are known ( at least well enough to run as parallel ), so might as well just assume Tyrannon found the place and attacked. The kneejerk assumption would be "Apophis might be back," which means investigation is the order of the day. As an aside, this would definitely shift Hermes' research focus from time to dimensional travel, at least for the moment. . .

Y'know, I've always found it interesting that the option being there and potentially easier, you guys have never cared to look into dimensional travel.

Mostly because, at least from Hermes' limited perspective, it seems the mechanical issues are fundamentally similar, its a matter of navigation. Of course, he could be wrong. . .

( besides, we've had lots of time travellers, and time controllers, to crib experimental data off of :P )

Wormhole: If the new guy is a significant threat, hunker down in the ol' pocket dimension until it's all clear (Wormhole's not suicidal enough to mess with someone who can ice Tyrannon). Otherwise, assuming the Tree Throne was in its pine tree form when it was killed, get out the lights and ornaments.

(What? 'tis the season )

Thing is, every player who's familiar with comic book conventions knows that when the Big Bad is greased by someone even worse, it always foretells extremely bad news for the home front. Always.

Diplomatic missions may be a prudent step, but digging in preparatory to the Apocalypse is even more prudent.

Aquatic: Probably forced to just report to his superiors.

Comet: Is way out of his league in this, but when he finds out what a threat Tyrannon was, he'd probably smile, inform any heroes with him that it was time to go party.

Dr. Sanguine: The Doctor would try to round up witinesses to the battle, learn all he could about the situation, and then, depending on what he heard, either pay a polite visit, or start shoring up mystic defenses by sharing his information with other earth mystics.

Gaze: He's busy enough with helping protect Vegas.

Mole: He'd turn to Hannah to ask what the heck was with the huge dead tree ;)

Olorin might be able to trace where the attack came from and go there to find out what gives - however - good ol' dectective work would occur first and that would mean Black Tiger would get to shine. Depending on what gives Olorin would either A: Find the entity and thank him, set up diplomacy etc. or B: Go "Yee-stak hru!" (his favorite curse in his own language. - don't ask) and try to set up defenses - a warning perimeter in particular. He'd really like to get back to his home dimension (can't get there right now), pick up weapons - and allies, including some gods (Read very high level power beings - propbably each not being quite as powerful as the baddie, but numbers help.) Sigh. Being a powerful mage is not what it's cracked up to be.

Re: WWYCD: The Destruction Of The Conqueror

Deuce would be suspicious. Very suspicious. How does he know that this Tyrannon fellow is now a dead "Tree Throne"? There's enough oddness in this world. Did he just metamorphose, like a butterfly? Did he fake his own death? Is there something else that would become a "Tree Throne" if killed- another being like Tyrannon, as terrifying as that might be?

And who is this other Dimension Lord- a rival for power perhaps, in the way Mob families sometimes rub each other out. And if Tyrannon is that powerful, would not someone more powerful- and thus possibly more ruthless- be even more of a threat to the planet?

It would require a lot of questions answered. And Deuce would ask them- even if he did not like the answers.
