Re: Traveller HERO: end is approaching

I've got them and I can say that they are really good. Although I am biased in that Traveller is one of my favorite settings.

The jury isn't in yet though in my opinon on Mongoose's Traveller which is why Hero is loosing the licence from what I've heard. Don't know if I'll get it or not.

Re: Traveller HERO: end is approaching

I just picked up the Golden Age Starships series and the Special Supplement series (which, as far as I can tell, are the other products beyond the core books with HERO-specific content). Thanks for all the great work, and for contributing to the Hero legacy, gang!

Re: Traveller HERO: end is approaching

Other than the two core books, what is there to buy?

A dozen, I say, good man, I'll take a dozen!!!

There are several Starship PDFs that have builds in them, and some other supplements in the HERO Line. Their new website does a much better job than the old of dividing out and presenting the HERO stuff.

Re: Traveller HERO: end is approaching

And although the Traveller licensing for Traveller HERO is going away, we are not losing the HERO license. So we (myself, Shadowcat, and others) will continue to turn out Star Hero stuff. I'm planning on finishing my Star Hero Adventures, as well as settings and various other things for the ComStar Star Hero universe. Much of it should be transplantable to a Traveller Hero or other Star Hero campaigns. So a time of transition - the end of one thing  and the start of something else. :)

I'd try contacting Darren Watts directly.

There's a fair amount of information regarding licenses on this webpage, http://www.herogames.com/policies.htm . Scroll down the page to "V. SELLING HERO GAMES MATERIALS - LICENSING."

Sadly, I find their store hard to navigate and easy to misunderstand. It's not the most clear setup I've encountered.

But the products kick butt, so it's all cool in my book. :D
