SKJAM! Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! As is perhaps appropriate for a group named The Interruption, it was launched before the previous group was finished. (And could we get some more info on the Rigger--which hero or heroes he's seeking revenge on, and what sort of traps he specializes in?) So one more member of the Revenge Squad: Repulse: Once Reed White was a normal member of a right wing hate group, until he and his buddies got overly violent at a rally in Washington DC. Naturally, the local heroes interfered, and Reed found himself merged with a wheelchair-bound black lesbian thanks to the power of Melting Pot. That experience moderated his political views somewhat, but Reed found himself ostracized by his friends and colleagues because he was now "contaminated" and "unpure." He grew to resent Melting Pot's actions, and volunteered for underworld experiments to give him powers to seek revenge. Repulse now has the ability to repel any solid or liquid object, forcing them away from him. He's working on ungrading to gases, and hopes someday to be able to repel energy, which he believes will make him truly invincible. In the meantime, he's with the Revenge Squad, who can cover for his vulnerabilities. Quote
Matt Holck Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Rigger's traps tend to be mechanical A circus tent that enfolds around a heavy object dropped on it. When a heavy object from a great height is dropped on the big top, the hero goes to catch it and gets entangled in the bag the big top canvas makes as it collapses. A train car with a giant fly wheel that accelerates and decelerates quickly leaving the heroes in a tunnel that caves in. A well aimed anchor on pulleys was dropped on Orca (flying brick sea hero). Orca used that same object to sink Rigger's ship. on with the music The Drummer sets the rhythm. He has a 6 speed and always goes on on segment 2,4,6,8,10,12 The other members of the team have learned to work with the beat and thus all gain a 6 speed when the drummer is present Any character that does not act on the segments of the drummer is "offbeat" and surfers a -2 penalty to dexterity rolls and OCV. BoloOfEarth Posted June 27, 2010 Author Report Posted June 27, 2010 Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Matt: could we have a name for this music-themed group? Following Legatus' lead, I'm going to introduce another instrument-themed member: Steven Vargus threw down the paper in disgust. How can the Times employ such an obviously tin-eared moron? "Benson!" At Vargus' cry, his butler stepped into the room. "Contact my accountant and have him buy the Times! And then have that music critic fired!" Vargus stewed as he picked up his violin and started to play while his butler talked to the accountant on the phone. "He said my preformance was uninspired! I'll show him uninspired!" As he ran the bow across one of the finest musical instruments money can buy, he continued stewing over the review of his performance. Why, he had paid good money to rent the music hall, as well as to pack the seats with friends, relatives, and frankly, people off the streets. And then he specifically invited the music critic! You'd think the ingrate could show a little appreciation! "And then, to imply that everyone at the concert hall fell asleep during my last piece! The nerve of him!" He switched songs, going into the Mozart piece that had been his final number that night. "How could he say that people fell asleep during this?" A thump made Vargus look over at Benson, and was shocked to find his butler had fallen to the floor, snoring uncontrollably. That was Vargus' first clue that he had a power of some sort (though one he's not entirely happy with). Playing certain songs on his violin allow him to put others to sleep or, if he plays exceedingly well, may even be able to induce a hypnotic state that leaves everybody within earshot highly susceptible to suggestion. Now, as Stradivarius, he has decided to show the world that he is not an "uninspired hack." While he initially didn't need the money from the group's thefts and other crimes, his lack of business sense combined with an extravagant lifestyle has led Vargus to blow through most of his father's inheritance. Stradivarius is a spoiled rich kid with an over-inflated sense of self, someone who never accepts responsibility for his own mistakes. He also fancies himself leader of the team, though his teammates know better and rarely listen to his "direction" in the field. Quote

Swift as the wind. Silent as a shadow. They'll find the target -- they always do. Hunt them down. Flush them out. Run them to ground. Tear them to shreds if that's the mission... All of the Master of Hounds' Powers are actually psionic in nature. His Mind Scan has very visible effects (the hounds) and sometimes takes a while to get results. Once he has "locked on" to a target, the Master of Hounds can attack through that Mind Link with a Killing Attack BOECV, Does Body. Then . . . things get sort of messy. Quote

Sir Thomas Nigel Baskerville had spent his life hunting all kinds of animals throughout the world. But, eventually by his 35th birthday he had grown bored with animals. He decided on the ultimate hunt, humans (and other sentients). He finds supers especially fascinating to hunt. A crackshot with virtually any weapon he uses, he'd be a perfect sniper if the job would suit him (and sometimes missions call for it). Also a master tracker from all those safaris. He also generally carries special weaponry designed to fight against possible supers he might encounter on the mission. Not to mention the Baskerville fortune is at his disposal. His only fear? Well, those Master of hounds pets make him a bit nervous. He claims a mysterious devil hound kills the male members of his family. Though these hounds seem to pay absolutely no attention to him......or do they? Note: I've always wanted to do a Baskerville heir (SHerlock Holmes story) and the Master of Hounds gave me inspiration. 2nd Note: No code name, his ego and pride in the family name wouldnt allow it. And a family fortune is good for buying your way out of the rare times he gets in trouble. Quote

Tictoc the Crocodile Man The jury is still out on whether Tictoc is a deformed mutant or the actual result of human/crocodile interbreeding; he won't say. All the clues to his origin he'll give is that he comes from an island "to the right" and that the temperature was much hotter than here. Tictoc hunts by taste; once he has tasted something, he will always be able to track it down, even years later. His primary obstacle to becoming a professional killer was learning to leave enough of the corpse to be identifiable. Fortunately for potential victims, Tictoc's reptilian physiology is cold-blooded, giving him some weaknesses. Quote
BoloOfEarth Posted June 28, 2010 Author Report Posted June 28, 2010 Re: Create a Villain Theme Team! Penny Pruitt, aka Profiler, is the information gatherer of the Wild Hunt. She is an expert at learning all there is to know about a target - habits, friends, resources, etc. and compiling a target profile for her teammates to use. This is especially necessary when the WH is hired to take down a super, since knowledge of a weakness to exploit can mean the key to success. If a target super has a Susceptibility or Vulnerability that *somebody* has discovered, chances are good that Profiler will know about it. (She keeps extensive files on all supers, even those the Wild Hunt has not yet been hired to target, so short notice on a job isn't often a problem for her.) She isn't one of the public faces of the Hunt, though she does typically participate on the periphery, watching the progress of the job and making tactical and strategic suggestions, most often by secure radio. Penny doesn't really work hard at hiding her criminal identity, so any super being targeted by the Hunt can likely learn that Penny's husband, a cop in Washington D.C., was killed when caught in the middle of a battle between Grond and a superhero team. Because of this, there is no love lost between Profiler and nearly any super (hero or villain). The only slightly-silver lining involved with Profiler is that she does all she can to mitigate danger that non-super bystanders might encounter due to a Wild Hunt operation. Quote

Nightjar prides herself in being the one the Wild Hunt turns to when the job requires stealing something, especially valuable foci. Her battlesuit is capable of flight, augments her speed and heightens her vision for telescopic range, x-ray, infrared and night detail as needed. Though the suit also wields armor-shredding claws, it also packs a wide variety of non-lethal restraints (electrical-charged nets and bolas, flash-bang grenades, super-hardening foam packs, sedative-laced darts and close-ranged knockout gas blast). Needless to say, she made herself immune to those last two just in case. Quote

The Punnishment Society are a group of seven quasi-vigilantes who go out delivering lethal "justice" to other criminals. They generally go out against regular organized crime, though they occasionally also get other supervillains. They fund their activities by "confiscating" their victims' assets, fencing and/or laundering as needed. They were created by an already-wealthy scientific genius with a macabre sense of humor. He kidnapped a bunch of people who were already either independent criminals or active vigilantes and altered their bodies, making them either cyborgs or genetic freaks, in each case the embodiment of a really horrible play on words. By the time they were done with him, his wife and children had been killed in an auto "accident", his best friends had been alienated by carefully-planted lies, and trumped-up charges dragged his good name through the mud until he had nothing left. With the whole world apparently turned against him, he decided that if he couldn't have his dreams, neither could anybody else. He sought help from a discredited scientist who put him through an untested procedure that granted him psionic powers. Now known as the villain Tormenter, he searches through peoples' psyches to find their hopes and wishes... and destroys them. He especially likes doing this to the rich and powerful -- those that aren't in VIPER's pocket were more than happy to kick him to the curb instead of standing by him in his hour of need. Quote
