Steve
Lady Blue has a new idea to help the needy, and she needs your help. She is currently assembling an all-female team of supervillains and will publicly declare a challenge to the local superteam. Her target is the famed McGuffin Emerald, currently held in a high-security vault underneath the stately manor of Scrooge McGuffin, well-known billionaire philanthropist. If her team of female miscreants can successfully defeat the heroes and escape with their prize, not only will Scrooge McGuffin let them keep the emerald and not press charges, but he will also then donate an amount equal to its value to the charity causes selected by those on Lady Blue's team. However, even if her team is unable to win against the heroes, each of them will still get a significant cash prize and no charges will be pressed, and the famed philanthropist will even use his resources to get them pardoned for their crimes. (This is why Code Versus Killing types are being selected.) Good publicity also doesn't hurt in the case of any future crimes they may commit. If the hero team is victorious, they will be the ones allowed to direct the donations to their favorite charitable causes. Camera crews will be on hand to record the entire event from start to finish, and they are everywhere on the grounds. Win or lose, this is for charity. Lady Blue will only be populating her roster with women who have a Code Versus Killing. Who do you think should be on Lady Blue's team out of those listed? Please select a maximum of four. Steve
Black Diamond and Signal Ghost are current leaders. Interesting. I didn't realize BD had so many fans.
ghost-angel
Howler & Photon are loony bins... with big "Warning: Bat Sh-- Crazy" labels... I'd avoid at all costs. I always thought we never see enough of Signal Ghost & Vixen and they'd make a great team.
Amorkca
I'd have picked Blue Jay... but no go... I went with Alchemica, Photon, Smoke & Mirrors! Can we look forward to an adventure with the group chosen??
Steve
I'm considering running this for my current gaming group. I went through the villains and picked out a selection with CvK, but I couldn't narrow my list and thought I'd try it out as a poll. It was surprising how many villains in the books have it, even one of the master villains in Book 1 (Tesseract).

Steve
Black Diamond and Signal Ghost are surprisingly popular. I had no idea they were liked so much. It looks like my team of villainous femmes will be: Lady Blue (team leader) Arachne (9 votes) Black Diamond (12 votes) Signal Ghost (10 votes) Zephyr (9 votes) Does anyone have any suggestions on tactics this team should employ in their heist and escape? Tech
Have a few ice cream trucks nearby and give away free ice cream to anyone (especially the kiddies). Have some clowns on stits and balloons everywhere to create a large group of distractions. Wait, this sounds more like Foxbat's modus operand i. wcw43921
Foxbat would take it a step further, with a big sign saying, "Free Ice Cream To Superheroes!" Their ice cream, of course, would be laced with knockout drops--and if they take the bait, he steals their gadgets and leaves a note-- NO ONE ESCAPES THE MASTER PLAN! NO ONE!!! Of course, the heroes may see the clowns and balloons and think--"Black Harlequin!" and go to high alert and pre-emptive property damage to be on the safe side. For myself, I picked Arachne, Signal Ghost and Vixen. I figure they'd be more likely to stay on mission and not risk success to grab a few more pieces of precious gems and metals. At least I hope so. Tech
(Not to derail this but...) If it's Foxbat, he'd probably plan that and find out he left the knockout drops at home, or end up accidentally putting in gumdrops instead. With no one falling asleep, the notes would leave everyone baffled what the Master Plan was.... which Foxbat would then claim was the goal all along - to baffle them. I do like Lady Blue as a character. In my campaign I GM, I've used her for many years and she's leaving behind the villain scene because she got engaged to a player hero. However, her past keeps coming back - in the form of villain showing up that she ripped off a long time ago.
bigdamnhero
Alchemica seems too selfish & greedy to take part in something so altruistic. Ditto for Riptide. Howler is similarly selfish & greedy, and she’s nuts to boot. Black Diamond would seem to be a natural fit, but the whole “impulsive & careless” thing might disqualify her in Lady Blue’s eyes. Photon is an amoral mercenary, and not too stable either. Technocrat is a superhero, not a villain (at least in her mind). Vixen maybe, but I think she’d see it as a distraction from her war against VIPER, not to mention an invitation for VIPER to crash the party. (Which could be a ton of fun actually…) Zephyr’s hatred of superheroes, cops & authority figures would seem to make her a poor candidate. So I went with Arachne, Signal Ghost, and Smoke & Mirrors. Happily, that also gives you a good mix of power sets. No Bluejay or Hummingbird?
bigdamnhero
Does anyone have any suggestions on tactics this team should employ in their heist and escape? I can see Zephyr using her wind TK to throw Black Diamond at the heroes for a fastball special; as a bonus, BD Absorbs any damage she takes from the Move Through. Arachne attacks from ambush to Entangle one Hero. Zephyr then uses her AOE wind to knock multiple heroes around and distract them so the heavy hitters can gang up on whoever's still standing. Lady Blue plays force projector until some hero forgets about her Strength augmentation and martial arts enough to close with her. Black Diamond just slugs it out with the team Brick, getting stronger with every punch she absorbs. Meanwhile... Signal Ghost phases up from below ground and makes off with the prize while the heroes are busy fighting out front.
Durzan Malakim
I don't know if Steve is going to report on this event as a GM, but as a player I can say it was quite fun to try and thwart these ladies. The points I spent in Knowledge Skill: Super villains actually paid off for about half of the crew by providing us some information about their power sets and tactics. Others in the group had previously fought Black Diamond and Shrinker and they quickly became primary targets. What worked well: Having our mentalist mind control Black Diamond was effective but "bad optics". Did I mention the whole event was broadcast live? Having our own shrinking character helped (briefly) acquire the MacGuffin gem. Using leadership and force fields to buff others. What didn't work so well: Having our shrinker suffer from foot-in-mouth disease on camera. Having more villains show up to seek retribution on our shrinker. Having our shrinker not-so-heroically continue to damage downed foes... on camera... Having to confront my fellow "heroes" about their actions. Having Microverse Nazis show up to claim a defeated Shrinker. End Result: Lady Blue and crew escaped with the MacGuffin, earned money for charity, and earned themselves pardons. We get to deal with Microverse Nazis and bad publicity of our actions.
bigdamnhero
We get to deal with Microverse Nazis and bad publicity of our actions. Damn I love RPGs! Not just for statements like this, but let's face it any day you get to utter that sentence is a good day!(Glad the rest of the game was fun too.)
