  1. Re: Thor's Hammer, Mjöllnir Mjonlir strikes me as the very epitome of Physical Manifestation- only as a rare plot device can it be kept from Thor. Of course, it's also unbreakable presumably. So there's that hoary chestnut. But it shouldn't be a difference in Limitation value.
  2. If one buys 20 points of unadvantaged KA, is it 1 1/2 D6 KA, or 2D6-1 KA?
  3. Re: Help with a power Great suggestions, all. OK, Trigger seems more appropriate. Can I put the teleport and the attack in the same slot of a multipower?
  4. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States Red Stick is simply delicious. Everything is thematically great. Powers-wise, I don't think a staple through clothing is a 10/10 Entangle- maybe more like a 1/3, on account of the target can rend his own garments to escape. I'm also iffy on the limited SPD. But these are such minor things... I love his weapons elements, his danger sense, his interesting detects, his quotes, his martial maneuvers. He's great!
  5. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States a 50-member supervillain group, with all those egos and psychoses... it doesn't seem like it would work (even in the world of superhero and supervillain teams). I think their enemies should be a loose confederation at best, working in small teams as the jobs require. But, you know, it is superheroes and supervillains. Stranger things have happened than a 50 member supervillain team reaving and pillaging the countryside. Maybe an evil alien race, like the Skrulls?
  6. I have a teleporter I'm working on, that has a bionic/cybernetic implant that controls a teleportation cape he wears. So far, I've got his movement powers done, as well as an XDM and Clairsentience that are SFX Teleportation. But there is one attack power I'm having trouble with. This is what it should do: The characater will teleport up to an adjacent hex/same hex as his target and slice through the target, teleporting a piece out for some small, but hard-to-stop damage. The movement and the attack are easy to contruct as two seperate powers, but there is a lag time between the move and the attack- I want to make this a single, half-phase attack. Any ideas?
  7. Re: Overcome Psy Limits: Wisdom of Elders Wisdom of the Elders: +10 EGO, OAF Sword (-1). This means that the Elders provide a measure of defense against Mental powers, and generally keep him focused. (20 Active, 10 Real) Wisdom of the Elders II: Contact: Own Ancestors, Extremely Useful resources (firsthand experience of the remote past and various combat, professional and knowledge skills, knowledge of the afterlife, GM Option), Good Relationship, Organizational, 11- OAF Sword (-1). (21 Active, 10 Real) total cost: 20 real I love the idea of the sword being a conduit to real people who have passed on to the afterworld. Conversely, I don't see why the EGO granted should be limited to certain applications, since it could theoretically be applied to anything that you could apply normal EGO to.
  8. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States GA Empire is fun! I love how he's got all these powerful alien mind control powers... and then he's got all this alien technology. The sort of loose origin suits a Golden Age character. They were all over the map. The costume I'm not 100% thrilled with, but I can't put my finger on what's wrong- whether it's something particular to me or if there is a specific flaw in it. Super work as usual EDIT: Aha! I got it. He should have curly hair, like Jake "the Snake" Roberts, or else short hair and a high collar. In addition- is it possible to accentuate his hands? Make them bigger, or put big gauntlets on them? Additionally, consider making his leggings all blue, or giving him bare legs under his short blue trunks. Sort of a carnival muscle-man or pro prestler. And I just noticed his susceptability to oil-based skin treatments. Genius! Reminds me of Martian Manhunter's fear of fire and fascination with Oreos.
  9. A supervillain has the lower extremities of a snake. He can move along the ground with facility and speed, but the tail does not give him any particular combat advantage, such as a pair of extra arms or a Scorpion-style tail might. My first throught is that this is Extra Limbs (5) as well as a 10-point Physical Lim (since he is still ambulatory but cannot ride a motorcycle or drive a car). Of course, in addition to Distinctive Features and whatever else. What say you?
  10. If an Amercian supervillain's real identity is known by the Australian authorities, but nobody in America necessarily knows that, is that a Secret ID or a Public ID?
  11. Re: When he bleeds, he bleeds vermin Sean, you are so terribly English. In the good and interesting way. Nobody from any other country could have possibly come up with such a story.
  12. Re: Age of Heroes: Game on Lost Coast Gaming Love it love it Roth, would love to see the PCs and NPCs and hear about your stories
  13. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Heavenly. Thanks, Doc! Ordeal. I don't have the patience to draw in the bird in a silhouette he wears as a chest device.
  14. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Can I have a link to the software you're using please? I can't find it in the thread.
  15. Re: Help: Hey Diddle Dillinger yep, getaway vehicle, and a power based upon The Wizard's antigravity disks... work for carrying the loot, flight, and getting rid of pesky nonflying opposition. Also, laughing gas. You know, because of the Little Dog. It's a tough one to get a unified SFX for.
  16. Re: I need help with a Magic System I made a magician once who used variable limitations, which included focus, incantations of either duration, side effects, RSR and gestures. And... it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. But it was workable to some extent.
  17. I built a supervillainess named Hey Diddle Dillinger. She's got a Prohibition-Era gangster motif, and I've tried to give her powers to match- a great Tommygun style RKA, a gang and a bulletproof hovervan, and so forth. But matching her powers to the Hey Diddle Diddle nursery rhyme is hard. Have you any suggestions? Re-imagine away. I have no particular attachment to the gangster theme.
  18. Re: Campaign Reboot An Elseworlds tale where their current minds are shifted into their younger selves might be enjoyable, too. Year One and Year Two stories are in some ways the most rewarding ones told. I've never had the opportunity with one group to play the same group of toons for more than a couple years. I don't have a particular longing to, per se, but I would certainly relish the opportunity to play with the same people with the same characters, since it would mean that things were going very well indeed.
  19. Re: superuseless superpowers razor-sharp shoulder blades 1d6 HKA, Inaccurate (-1), Side Effects: 2d6 HKA (always happens, -1)
  20. Re: Character regrets g-a, how does he deal dmage? 6 DC seems paltry, although I've made similar characters. They just don't do much damage in combat, but are excellent in other areas.
  21. Re: One HELL of a poker game... Paint them on velvet.
  22. Re: Character regrets sooo, Ghost Angel? Can we see them? lol And This Space Reverved for Future Posting of a PC that Never Was
  23. Re: How to Simulate: Martial Arts Masters NND attacks? Between Killing Strike, Nerve Strike and Choke Hold, you have alll kinds of ways to get a little damage around most defenses. Martial Arts, even those maneuvers listed in FRED, seems adequate.
  24. Re: Picking a codename that, like, a million other characters haven't already used. I kind of like Pig Iron, even though I am sure there has been at least one DC hero by that name
