I was thinking about an attack with the SFX of jabbing someone in the eye. A spitting cobra's venom could be defined that way, too. Perhaps Combined with a more standard Flash attack.
I agree, rare SFX, but with the right justification and balancing Limitations I might allow it.
Yeah, I was going to mention the killing attack Flash attack which depending on genre (of course I’m thinking Martial Arts) would be appropriate. But how how about someone with searing flames? Or so Hideous your eyes melt? 😁

@Duke Bushido, one minor thing is that the Backgrounds are priced as a group. So Influencer that I bought, (because hey, why not?) is priced at 10 points whereas others could be price at 15 pts upto I think one is 40 pts. Those are listed out as separate point costs though that won’t be hard to figure out. I thought he would’ve had them more or less the same cost then perhaps suggested adders but that’s just me.

He reminds me of Yosemite Sam when he’s dressed as a knight. 😁

On a different note, what are your favorite rpg blogs? I occasionally get emails from Johnn Four
I haven’t found any one blog to follow. The Alexandrian does have some good articles but sorting through seems to be tough (for me). I enjoyed and agreed to his article on solid rules allow for good rulings.

@Duke Bushido, Heroes in a Hurry does have everything in point Blocks. The nice thing is when I wrote up Mr. Malleable I wanted to keep him at 300 pts. I was able to do it. The malleable option is 150 pts. Now I wanted to trim it to be able to buy other things. So I dropped Shape Shift iirc 49 pts. Snip, easy peasy.

I can be interesting though with rules how some rules can certain people pick up but others take awhile to grok. I was playing with my boys and nephew Battletech. My boys have picked up on it and my nephew never really played it. My oldest though couldn’t grasp the Minimum Range Modifier to save his life. Certain weapons you are in Short Range so no Range Modifier but if you’re the weapons minimum you gain a +1 per hex of the minimum.

Well, inspired by this thread, I pulled the trigger on this book.
I am _hoping_ that it is what I _thought_ the Creation Cards were going to be, but I am preparing for the same level of disappointment.
😕
Duke it’s not 2nd Ed. so of course you’re going to be disappointed! 😜

I can't win, can I.
Oh please don’t take as an attack. Just trying to let you know things are a little different since 4th. Carry on good sir! 😁

@Tech, if this is for Champions, I would think that a tree falling could be considered broken. So if you can “break” it then it’s fallen.
-
Oh and one more minor point. 4th Ed 250 pt was considered a starting level character. 400 pt 6 ED is considered a more experienced character. Someone who’s been around a bit.

I'm so use to how things were done during the Big Blue Book where the Complication points actually mattered that I kept that "starting points + complications" formula. Just assume that when everyone appears they have about 75 points of spent experience. Or feal free to bump powers down by 75 points. I mean once published on the site it is all yours to modify as you wish.
No problem. When they switched to Matching Complications, that confused a lot of people. The idea is (in brief) that instead of loading up characters with a bunch of Disadvantages to make the Point Total, (I’m guilty of that!) take less Disadvantages but take more meaningful ones. Think of it like this. Now the Base Free Points have been increased so as to take less Disadvantages. Now some people say that they had no problem coming up with 150 pts in Disadvantages. And I applaud and are envious of them.

I'm glad to be an inspiration. My goal with the project is to keep the villains close to 475 as possible (400 base points + 75 Complication Points). I did have to go off book for a few things (it just wasn't right not to give Winterblade some form of tempture based life support, for example), but I did try to use as much of the book as possible.
You do know that the the 75 Matching Complications are for 400 Point Characters. (It’s a little confusing.) But if you WAN them to be 475 pts then by all means do so. Also my wife bought me the book awhile back as a surprise. I should get some use out of it.

Inspired by @Stanley Teriaca, Heroes in a Hurry, I created a Stretching character named. Mr. Malleable. (Though I kept him at 300 pts.) I just ran a starting adventure where two Robbers try to rob the Andromeda Bar (map from 5th Ed Resource kit).
Question, does it seem cheesy that I declared that when he went to Martial Grab the robber, I stated that Extra Limbs would cancel out the need to use his other arm? The SFX is that he’s hand Stretched big enough to wrap around the robber.
I still took an OCV penalty because of the maneuver.

Not sure but that tree should have Clinging! Or just KB Resistance.

@Stanley Teriaca, I wondered when I posted about Hideous if you were using Tiger’s material. Nothing wrong with that!

I can't seem to find the place where I downloaded the sheet. I suspect it was a single character sheet that was shrunk down to a quarter size in order to fit a party of 4 in a single sheet, possibly for solo play. I can find similar sheets in the Basic Fantasy forums. If it's not against the rules, I can post a blank sheet of the one I used, but remember that I am not the creator, and I will take it down if asked.
It’s no big deal. I just wondered. No use getting in trouble for it. Oh and is there a particular reason why you’re doing a four man party? Besides perhaps that is all that fits on the sheet? I know that it’s assume that that’s the idea party size but really more is better! KotB suggests a minimum of a 6 member party.

How about Doom Patrol? Since they’re seeking their Doom? Btw, murderhobos just like fingernail on a chalk board.
Btw, where did you get that sheet from?

I’m not sure how much Hideous has. I didn’t think he survived to get a 6th edition write up. Yeah I’d say 6 levels safely.
-
His Intimidation being 26- with Interrogation is a bit excessive I think.
-
Well @Steverhat clarifies things. That description would have been a little more helpful. 😉 Then go with Lonewolf though a few dice in Aid still won’t hurt imho.

I'd be happy to run HERO again, assuming my players aren't expecting a superhero game. I'll do fantasy or scifi instead.
Burnt out on Supers? I might run a Solo game for myself at some point. Just to see if a Sandbox would work in a Supers game.

The problem is that cutting a tree (tree trunk more than 20 cm) with a single sword stroke is not a heroic feat, is a super-heroic feat.
The thing is dealing with the martial arts world, heroic and super heroic is muddled.

@Old Man, If I remember correctly, STR was suggested to be 2pt per 1 STR in Fantasy 4th Ed. I wonder if anybody used the Linear STR progression that is mentioned in Hero 6th?
