They always say that you know a news story has run its course when the reporters start doing stories on how they're reporting it.  This reminds me of that.

I posted a FB comment on a CBR thread, something about, "Save the spoilers, I'd actually like to see something new when I see it in the theater."   I was excoriated for it.  Guess I'm old but I don't understand wanting to be spoon-fed tidbits like a slavering dog.  Official trailers are enough, I can keep myself occupied with something else until the movie comes out.

I know this will probably get me banned, but I have to say it.

The Dark Knight trilogy is overrated.

The Dark Knight was a great movie if overly violent, and seemed to be more a James Bond movie at times.

Batman Begins was too slow in the set up, and was redeemed by Batman's last line to Ras.

The Dark Knight Rises has Catwoman, some impressive special effects, but has enough plot holes to fly the Batplane through.

I think the biggest issue is the versions of the Heroes they are portraying.

All of them, well most of them, are greater than life HEROES.  They never were intended to be "relatable to the average person" or "a reflection of real life".  And yes there are many half-assed attempts to destroy the character concepts in the 90s/00s.  But overall the core concept was always "greater than life" both physically and ethically/morally.

Cavill was a great choice for Superman.  Unfortunately the script and visuals of Man of Steel were not about Superman.

Wonder Woman was awesome because even though they changed time period and tweeked characters, they kept the substance, personality and concept of the Heroine intact.

Suicide Squad flopped because they turned Harley Quinn from the extremely popular and recognizable quasi-villainess into a grunge reject.  They may have kept a portion of the video game croed, but they drove away the far larger older crowd that know HQ from the original show.

For me statements by various people from the studio as well as directors about how dumb and outdated superheroes are, indicates they have no idea of what they are in the first place or why they are popular.

I don't watch a super movie or TV series for a lesson in ethics or a directors' opinion on current affairs.
    I watch it for fun.

Superman was always a beacon of light that always acted "right" with a priority to protect.  Not a brooding whiner that gets pissed, brawls and can casually kill enemies.

Spence reacted to Simon in HD6 Issues Under Windows High Resolution Screens
For those having issues with HD appearing too small under high resolution screens (when running Windows), an update has been posted which enables command-line flags to set the default font size throughout the application.  To use, you need to launch HD from the command line (or create a batch script) with the following:
javaw -jar HD6.jar [font size] for example, the following would set the default font size throughout the application to 18pt:
javaw -jar HD6.jar 18 Windows does not appear to pass font scaling along to Java, hence the issue under high resolution screens.  Moreover, there are known issues within Java in attempting to change the font size once the UI has been rendered.  This is the reason that the command line flags are needed rather than a new application preferences setting.

Perhaps you fine folks here haven't heard about it, but the tiny football club Östersund beat Arsenal on Arsenal's home turf. 1-2 in the second match in R32 in the Europa League. Too bad Östersund lost 4-2 on aggregate, but one can't have everything.

A quick check shows that 1st edition is mum on whether the minimum STUN multiplier is 0 or 1, while 2nd ed. specifies that the minimum is 1.

Haha...well, you're like 5 minutes too late because I just made the setting to select 5th edition or 6th edition rules.

I'll see if I can get support for stun ranges as you suggest in a future release.

Well the app is more of a doing rather than making.

You input items created rather than create them.

I'd like to see a GM tool like a  minon control sheet.  Enter the base data and then track the stun/body/end of multiple minons.  You can already import characters.

How about and initiative control sheet?

A big one for me is the damage roller doesn't have the ability to apply the random stun multiplier for KAs

The only request I would make is either a - and + button at the ends of the slides or the ability to tap the value and direct enter the value.

Or you couid say it is just what normally happens when you have a good cast with a good script and director that had a familiarity with the source material while still understanding a movie isn't a comic.  Oh and not needlessly pandering.  Black Panther was a great movie because it was well made.  The Superman movies sucked because they didn't portray the Superman we knew.

Spence reacted to knasser2 in Why Does the Monk Class Work in DnD
It's popular because a lot of immature players think "ninjas are cool" and have no regard whatsoever for general atmosphere or whether their personal power trip makes my setting all loopy. Also, in most versions of D&D the monk class is easily exploited to create game-breaking combos like stun-locking a dragon round after round.

Why yes, I am harsh and judgemental and wildly opionated. Why do you ask?

wow.... Battlefield Press is going to be printing new versions of the old Terran Trade Authority books, with the original art, later this year or early 2019.. I remember reading these when I was a lot younger... they are really hard to find at a reasonable price these days. some great source and inspirational material in them, sadly I only have Space Wars, Worlds, and Weapons on my shelf still

Based on what others have said, I'll disagree a bit. Ultimately though, it depends on the players and GM as Christopher said. In my campaign, supers use them alot. Quite frankly, many episodes could not be done without alot of skills - makes the players think, too.
