I was wondering if anybody has written up Baron Samedi? I've been thinking the last couple of weeks how he could be a perfect villain behind the scenes guy. I just dont have any ideas how to write him up. Even ideas on what powers he could have would help and greatly appreciated.

I'll have to check that out. I've been toying with an idea of PC armies that fight it out or something. Maybe not a mian campaign mind you. But maybe an "extra" idea to toy with when we want to try something new.

Yeah I was thinking about it later in the day during a slow period at work (shh-nobody has to know i was daydreamiong at work;) ) And you're right the DEX or SPD or Lighning Reflex thing would be preferable. The suit thing would make it a bit too random for my taste.

In he event I do use the system. My simpler version would scrap the jokers, and go with 12 cards (to represent our Segment-12). Plus one card (probably the Queen) as a wildcard which can be played as needed. And would play from lowest to highest with Ace being one, Jack 11, and King 12. And also order of Spade, Heart, Club, Diamond, for tie breaker of course. In the event of same card, same suit, high SPD seems worthy. But the SPD chart definitely aint broken this would just spice things up. It definitely sometimes gets monotonous with ok SPD 4 guys play an action here, etc. But I do thank you Mr. R. Logue for this idea to kick around.

Havent read all of it. But I like this idea (though I might alter it for a bit simpler use). But I was wondering (forgive me if I overlooked it). But in the case if 2 players throw down a king for example. But of different suits (hearts, diamonds, etc.) could suits play tie-breaker? And in what order?

Although I liked the Stargate movie. I have to say I couldnt stand the series. Basically for the same reasons the US military would be as you say if there really was a stargate..

I liked the episodes that I watched. But it got confusing with the continuity. Though I have to admit during the first episode i watched that I couldnt help but think about the anime shows Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star. (2 of my favorite animes by the way). Talking about how it relates to the west. The way they talked about some of the character getting displaced after losing the war made me think of how some of the rebels felt when they came home after the Civil War. (I am a little bit fuzzy on memory as this was a while ago when this was on). But Sci-fi not liking "outer space" sci-fi? They just cut out half their subject potential right there.

I am wondering where is this from as I have never heard of them?

Sorry, really it is just a matter of interest as I always like to hear stories of the "lesser" known bad guys in epics (I especially liked the Star Wars: Tales from Jabba's Palace, Mos Esley Cantina, and Bounty Hunters). Though I have been thinking about using them in a campaign (though not necessarily Lord of the Rings). Actually I was thinking along the lines as mentioned earlier just changing their becakgrounds slightly for a Champions game and making chi-using MAs (you stole my idea Tk guy , but I guess great minds think a like:D ). Basically I kind of didnt want to spend all those hours thinking of names and backgrounds from scratch. (kind of tedious right now with my 2nd shift hours and with more owrk coming in of late). I am thankful for all info. And I am sorry if it had been brought up earlier. I wasnt really a regular visitor till about 3 or 4 months ago. So I might have missed something like that.

Yeah I didnt think that Tolkien went into detail particualrly. But I thought some of the supplements had though. Just didnt know much about those.

i dont think I do anything in particular necessarily. I usually try to form a group that all have a unifying hatred of the hero team (whether the whole team or just a parcticular member, as long as they hate something about those do-gooders, it works for me). Usually I like a good, strong, intelligent leader who can keep any bickering to a minimum. I also like to have characters whose strengths offset another's weakness. Say a wizard and technological genius, or a strong offensive guy and a defensive guy. The only thing I do in particular is try to make a 7 (if the opposing hero squad is small) or 13 (if the hero group is larger, any NPC heros included). I am a bit guilty of liking 13 because I was a fan of the Legion of Doom (I kept hoping they would win). If it wasnt for the evil Hanna-Barbera "kidyfying" of it. They would have rocked. Though I also like keeping that mastermind/leader guy I mentioned in the first paragraph hidden from all but me for a while. HAHAHA (still working on evil laugh;) )

i was wondering about the 9 Nazgul. I was wondering what were their names or background. The only one I know much about is the Witch-King. I was wondering if any of the diehard Lord of the Ring fans knew anything about them (or steer me in the right direction)? Thanks for any help.

Monolith I think you meant sane person instead od same person;) But who said Steve Long was sane LOL. Anyway on a serious note I gravitated to HERO because of the flexibility of creating "my own genre" so to speak. When you look at other games like D&D and Star Wars it is fairly genre-specific IMO. With HERO it is a do-all system to me and where I could create and mold my own world to the game I want. Course I guess to some that would be the reason to not like but for me...... And I actually like creating a new monster or type of energy blast or spell, etc. Course 500 new monsters as you said might be a bit much. For me it would be boring and unimaginitive to go completely on the supplements material. And finally I liked math in school (at least until I got to algebra and geometry) so that makes even more fun.

Thanks! The only thing else I can think of is Is there any special circumstances that previously have happened (like in life or something) that caused him to become a liche?

Forgive my ignorance as I am not as informed with the fantasy genre as I am with other genres but...... What is a liche? I have seen that word lately on the boards and is driving me crazy not knowing.

I know those "cant seem to find it in the book" days. Happens to me a lot. Funny thing is I usually find it 3 days later when I am looking for something else.......which I cant find.
