  1. Re: Villain Group! As a transformer geek as a little kid. I must point out that transformers could combine to form giant robot. The Constructicons come to mind first. It has been over 15 years since I have watched transformers, so the memories are fuzzy, but there were other groups who could.
  2. Re: Are you Judge, Jury, and Executioner? Actually had clashes like that in games I played (thanks in part to me) Actually in one of 2 campaigns I have played my namesake, we were all pretty much reformed criminals so killing was always a possibility for me and the 3 other main characters. I recycled that character in another campaign as his reformed criminal self with mostly do-gooders as teammates. Made it real fun for me. My character had to fight the temptation to kill more than the others. Because if I did then as a reformed killer the public backlash would be worse on me than what it would have been if it was one of the others. Would occasionally nearly come to blows with the resident boy scout of the team. Basically the first I mentioned was more fun because the people I played with were good friends of mine. But the second one was more interesting to the "angst" if you will.
  3. Re: What would your character do? #71 Badger (actually referred to as Superbadger by the public) was pretty much a hermit and suvivalist before he developed his powers, so he'd do alright. With his powers. He could be a "god" if he wanted (though he doesnt care to rule and such). He is a reformed criminal, so a "lapse" could be expected. i could see him leading one tribe into battle against the other locals and taking over (though again not because he wants to rule but because war is all he knows and believes it is the only thing he is good at.) As far as the ladies (I'm assuming homo sapien has developed). Well he didnt have hardly any luck with women of the 21st century, so he couldnt be worse off in the romance dept. than before. As far as changing the timeline, he aint likely to stop and care. For 3 other main characters in this particular group from a few years ago with mine. Weasel- scientist and mathmetician. His power armor quite possibly would have caused the whole time rift. Would get himself back most likely. (and bore the rest of us with his adventure) Bumblefly(dont ask about the name, long story)- kind of a jack of all trades- would be ruling the place within a week, would probably get bored however and make a time machine. Frosty Bob- former elite forces turned mercenary. Probably check out the local village maidens. He's rumored to have been granted immoratlity so he might make it back the long way. As long as he has concubines and upcoming battles he aint going to care.
  4. Re: Worm in your head? Just curious what kind of campaign this is for? This is kind of an evil character as it essentially kills sentients to keep going essentially. Hard to see it playing out as a good guy is all. Now if you playing some kind of villain type campaign this is truly perfect. Also how would it move from one host to another. Does this thing have to crawl out of the former host and go looking for a new one (leaving itself extremely vulnerable) or through skin contact, etc.
  5. Re: Got an idea at work today. Some good ideas. Right now I am leaning towards Dust Raven's Unluck with electronic devices. And rolling x amount of dice. My idea of it is I dont want something bad to happen all the time. But I would want something unpredictable to happen often enough that it would cause him and his allies some trouble. Some second guessing when it comes to letting him use the electronic devices of the group Leader: Hey Joe could you go fix the TV dinners in the microwave.....on second thought seeing what happened last time lets just eat them cold. To be exact I guess I am looking more at it just malfunctioning or short-circuiting while the character is within a certain vicinity (but not 100% of the time, and a bit randomly) He could watch TV for hours w-o trouble then goes into the kitchen to fix microwave popcorn and the thing blows a fuse for no apparent reason kind of thing. So if my thinking is right, the unluck might work best in this case. Thnaks for all the ideas.
  6. Re: Suggestions? Telepathic PCs just captured VIPER agent Breaking up like Chuckg did. Basically, I would let the mentalist know before hand that invading one's mind is going to be considered highly immoral in this setting without the consent of the one whose mind is being invaded. So if they are law abiders this will be difficult. Because essentially if I am GM the search warrant would not be granted for the search of one's mind and even if it is an emergency situation he'll have to expect brutality lawsuits on him afterwards from the lawyers (hey you know a defense lawyer would argue it that way) and it would be doubtful the suspect will give him consent. Course if they be vigilantes "The ends justify the means
  7. Well, today at work i had a bad day. Basically, everytime I touched anything electronic it seemed to break down. After I got home I got to thinking this might be an interesting quirk for an RPG character. So I was wondering how I could create this quirk. Basically a bad luck with mechanical and electronic equipment.
  8. Re: Super-strong ear muscles? If you want to hear better just get gene-spliced with some bat DNA
  9. Re: The green alien's burden Ditto to above post by Chuckg. You basically would have to work in the shadows to stop this rather a head-on approach. It also could be potentially interesting to have the powers that be forming an alliance to put down this threat together or alternately actually fighting with each other to keep the other from getting the tech first.
  10. Re: Hunted: Hekate Dont mean to be ignorant but I dont remember Hekate, who exactly is she? Ares (or another civilization's god of war) could still be powerful given the current state of affairs in the world.
  11. Re: Comeliness? When you first start out you kind of feel like you left something off your character whether it be a social limitation or whatever. It can be a perfectionist's nightmare
  12. Re: Write up of Steve Long How about Followers: Army of brainwashed, slavishly loyal RPG players
  13. Re: Nothing personal Ben, but I killed you last night. As far as wierd names on work orders. I too like finding them. I found one last week named Jock Overfelt. No I am not kidding. And yes he probably does hate his parents.
  14. Re: Nothing personal Ben, but I killed you last night. I'd just pull out the local phone book myself. You wont run out for awhile with that.
  15. Re: Killing Charachters/Villians in your games. Do you do it? I've played a reformed villain before. He still had a bit of trouble "understanding" the whole no-killing thing. Especially since "this guy is just going to be back out next Thursday anyway". But he never did get to killing. Though he seriously had to be talked out of it by the resident boy scout superhero one time. It would have been tougher consequences on him given his history.
  16. Re: What do you call this genre? Well if I remember right I think the time where use of steam became widespread was more after 1850 than before. Though between the Revolution and CivilWars isnt my strongpoint.
  17. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen Got admit I wish I had remembered Denzel Washington from the Bone Collector. Being paralyzed does make him seem to fit in with this type of crew, even if he had to stay at base with some small spy-cams he could direct the rest in the mystery at hand. Would give much more flavor.
  18. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen Actually you could explain Indiana Jones in modern times because he did drink from the Grail in The Last Crusade movie. Remember that knight was still alive after hundreds of years. There was no exact mention how long the effects against aging were or whatever. Hannibal could work in a Jekyl/Hyde type role, no he doesnt trasform into a brute. But he definitely has that uncontrollable-ness to him that Hyde had. Not sure what special abilities he adds though. I lkie Willow in there as she was a supporting character instead of the main. MacGuyver definitely has to be in regardless. Technical genius, master of innovation, yadda yadda. You could go with Chuck Norris from Walker, Texas Ranger. Though it was a bit of a bad movie you could add from the movie Congo one of those killer monkeys. They could provide some muscle. Also from Buffy you could add Faith- you know the whole redemption thing. Too bad we cant add sci-fi. I'd love to add that Feral Kid with the boomerang from the second Mad Max movie.
  19. Re: Cyborg entity? Trying to understand this exactly. The impression I am getting is this is basically a human with "computer enhancements" in her brain? Seems to me she would heal like any other (provided it isnt brain injury).
  20. Re: Info wanted on mythic kingdoms? I've been doing a search since I got up this morning (hey it's a holiday and nothing better to do). Yeah I've found Atlantis up the..... Mu has been a problem though which was the one I was more interested. Admittedly I could do an Atlantis just from documentaries and pop culture stuff on the subject. But nothing much on Mu. I really want to make them different (somewhat but not extreme). Well maybe I should that'll probably give me brainstorm. I do thank you all for suggestion as always. Things get much clearer when you have more than one view on a subject.
  21. I was wondering if anyone knew where I might find information about Atlantis and Mu on the net. I particularly want to know about the myths of their culture if possible. Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.
  22. Re: Mad Scientist's Creations Maybe we should have a name that animal contest for these creatures.
  23. I recently got around to seeing the movie. I knew all the characters except for Dorian Gray. Does anyone know what book/story he was from?
  24. Re: Freaky-powerful and complex! I think Mightybec deserves points for being sick enough to think teleporting someone to their mother's shower. Bedrock or deep space is much more merciful.
  25. I was thinking of what if a character had a communication device implanted in his head. Could this be built as telepathy with some limitations (like only to communicate with another with this type of device also implanted in them). Seems like it could be built as telepathy IMO, but I would definitely appreciate opinions.
