Good point. Once you past the teenage angst you do kind of realize how overblown they do it. I've never been a big comic book reader. But I definitely read more DC. It does make you wonder how The Thing is respected despite being a freak but several X-Men if they dont show their powers could pretty much walk around like a normal but they are treated like a medieval plague. And dont get me started on that gutter trash of a station they call MTV. In any case do they even show music videos anymore.

Bubba and Buford? Dont be talking about my relatives. But I do have to say it would make sense that if mutants started popping up people would be afraid. But why they dont have widespread fear and hatred of all supers always had me confused. But then again I never quite understood why people hated in RL others because of skin color. I remember hearing one time that everyone is about 99% identical genetically, what is the big deal about that 1% ? Like you said hatred aint rational.

i remember in an old Star Trek show. Kirk and friends met up with Apollo. He was the last living member of the Olympians. I think it turned out he was some sort of powerful alien or something. I remember him giving Scottie the beat down several times, however.

I thought of two.......... Banshee: named after the wailing foreteller of death in Irish legend (possibly Scottish too but cant remember). A woman who was formerly a heavy metal or goth singer (hey we are going graveyard imagery.) who lost her voice or it mutated somehow. It would basically be another sonic-powered character (you may not want another one after Dirge). But I was thinking the 2 of them if they teamed together during the fight could hit the same object or hero with their sonic blast with especially bone-shattering results (literally). Her background would of course be of a heavy metal/goth singer. She also may have a connection with your Dirge character possibly a sister or wife or something. And it might make sense to make her Irish or Irish descent. After mentioning Vutlures in my earlier post made me think of Vulture: an all-purpose gadgeteer. Named after the scavenging bird. He would be a guy who "scavenged" scrap metal into a power armor. No particular ideas for weaponry and fighting abilties with the armor right now. Given name, some flight abiltiy would be appropriate for starters

I like some of your ideas Crimson Arrow. Especially IVAM and Carrion/Ghoul. Just to point out additional possibilities to those 2 would be Carrion/Ghoul having a multiform of a vulture or buzzard and IVAM could be a cyborg or android. Is it ok if I take those 2 character ideas for possible use for my own game?

I've been involved with a couple Greek gods as NPCs. They were basically just "regular" supers. We decided to make them immortal in the sense they did not age. But could die. As in they took enough body. Though they also had regenertion so you would have to hit'em hard and often to kill. But as a Christian my opinion would be yes maybe have a character with superpowers as a gift from God. But not any direct type stuff. As in God would not be written down as a character or something that would be a little sacreligious (sp?).

My namesake doesnt wear a costume unless blue jeans and a T-shirt count. It really doesnt matter much as he doesnt get out in public except (except to whip some villain @$$). And he doesnt have to worry about family because they were already killed when he was young. Note: A main villain did the killing by the way. He joined in the first place as an enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of way.

Prepare to battle the aliens. He would believe that forcing others into such a subjucation would be in itself evil (regardless of aliens attempt). Basically believing that it is humanity's right to destroy themselves if they wish and no outside alien force has the right to interfere(kind of a Prime Directive if you will). After organizing team (and possible other super teams) for a battle, would then fight (for better or worse). If he dies he at least dies for a good cause (fighting tyranny). Note: As noted before his father was from outer space could make an interesting plot (as in these were the aliens father ran from or to that effect)

My namesakes alien father would prbably have set himself up as a warlord given his superpowers. Though my character may or may not follow in that legacy. It is likely he would become a prodigal son of sorts. He would probably be a warlord of some sort(another territory) or possibly a loner who goes around doing the anti-hero thing. He probably wouldnt be helping those in need. He is a reformed villain in regular timeline.

My namesake would never have existed being half-alien. His father(the alien side) would have been killed as a threat most likely when he came to Earth. If his father would not have been captured at the very least circumstances would have prevented his parents from meeting. Though his father may have used his powers to help the freedom fighters.

Well my guy has the ability to detect ki, magic andmost other supernormals, too. So if he could not find his teammates this means they are likely dead (or definitely off-planet). He can use this ability to find other "recruits" though it might not do any good. Although a good strategist in battle, he is not exactly a good organizer and definitely not good at persuading to his cause. Hopefully he could find a super who would have the talent to persuade others to the cause. Failing that he might go for any local teen metahumans who are outcast and misfits and maybe try to get them to join by "giving them a purpose". He would train them on how to use their powers and abilities to best help out the team. Though he would avoid if possible sending them into a battle for as long as possible. When training completed he would bring them along slowly maybe letting them take on minor threats. He would try to take on threats that he felt they werent ready for early on alone. Course the teen angst of trying to fit in would be lost on him for the most part so some tension would be there.

What is Soul Brother in Egyptian then ? That might be a perfect name.

I prefer the normal getting super via power armor. Occasionally the Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat martial arts route. As for your genetic makeup, I only go that idea with the teen years (when all the other wierd stuff is happening to you.)

I havent read the whole thread yet but the one thing I will point out is that there have been plenty of wars started throughout history in the name of religion. Though I would stick to maybe radical zealots rather than the mainstream if you go this route. Could insult some. Though my mother is worried for my soul just because I play rpgs:rolleyes:

My namesake would never go for it. He's a bit socially inept and especially shy and awkward towards the opposite sex. I mean the guy lives in a network of caves outside the city(his hideout/headquarters/baseof of operations/more or less home?). He also might beat the living hoo-ha out of the teammate who suggested it.

Ghost who walks you forgot the most important part of the ceremony at the end you say the name Steve Long 3 times. Course I have tried the telling the computer I know where the power switch is. Usually doesnt work. It thought I was bluffing. Course it then learned better. The machines are basically just testing our authority to discover our strengths and weaknesses for when they will take over the world.

A mentalist would be a better fit I have to admit for Mr. IL. I also have to admit of all the leaders of the world he also would be the most perfect to draw as a comic. . I mean look at the hair.
