I'd love to see something along the lines of Neil Gaimen's American Gods, where the gods and monsters of old live among us -- some run-down and decaying from lack of worship, others who've found new wellsprings of magical "belief" power. Maybe some package deals on how to create and play the old/new gods -- where to find power, what divine niches must be filled, fending off the modern usurpers (or the old decrepit ones)...

Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I went to a friend's wedding this weekend. Saw an old buddy who I haven't seen in probably 10+ years there. Seems he's teaching down at my old Junior High these days. Small world. He also told me that I'm a legend among northern Colorado gamers, still talked about in many circles.

Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I'm almost done with one of the two MLP conversions I'm bringing to Gencon. She looks really good, in my biased opinion. The second one is about half done -- now I just need to work on her head. I may post piccies if I remember to take some.

Re: The Olympics Arachne would almost certainly be able to medal in the Gymnastics competition (and she'd fit right in, since she's still a teenager!), if they allowed her to go. Batroc would love to go -- she's a huge spotlight hound, and the Olympics would put her in front of millions of viewers! She'd be torn between representing her native France and her adopted United States. She could kick serious tail in the martial arts competition (though I don't think Savate is an approved Olympic sport). OTOH, she'd be competing against the Iron Fists and whatnot, so it wouldn't be an easy competition for anyone. Adamant wouldn't bother. He isn't interested in mere sport.

Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread I've killed 6 wasp/yellowjacket nests this year around my house. One of them was huge. It was in the downspout on the corner of my house. I kept spraying it, and more and more kept flying out. I think I counted 21 dead bodies after it was over, plus all the larvae in the nest. I dunno why I don't like 'em, I just don't. Bees, on the other hand, I loves to pieces. We got a friggin' swarm of them around our blue spireas last year. It was nice to see them all humming around, working. And they were really friendly, too. When I needed to adjust the sprinkler I'd just move the bush aside with my hand. The bees would buzz around me, not bothered at all.
