  1. I can see your point there, and since it's actually cheaper to buy up the max # of folowers rather than buying a whole extra set at a lower point base.... Yeah, that makes sense.
  2. I think everyone has got you taken care of, but I just wanted to point out that if you're talking about guys like scientists and doctors, they sound more like DNPCs to me. They would be little use on mission and would actualy get in the way most of the time. I wouldn't buy a seperate DNPC for each guy, just one for all of them.
  3. I was thinking less about every ability you gain and more about the abilities you gain that are almost always used. I mean things that other characters would more than likely buy anyway. I'll start with STR +10 STR gives you +2 PD; 2 points +2 Rec; 4 points +5 stun; 5 points On top of this you get +2d6 attack Why is CON over powered? +10 Con; 20 points +2 ED; 2 points +2 REC; 4 points +5 Stun; 5 points +20 END; 10 points Add to this the fact that CON is what determines whether you get stuned or not. As for DEX Well, first considering almost noone out there plays with less than a 4 SPD, every point of DEX only costs 2 points because you gain 1 point in SPD up to 30 DEX. Then consider that it only costs 1 point more than an overall combat skill level to have +1 OCV AND DCV. Then figure That DEX also determines who gets the first shot. Now some people might say that all of the characteristics give benifits beyond what they cost. This is true, but most people will not buy up thier EGO unless they are a mentalist because it doesn't do enough. The top three are so powerful because they give things that almost everyboby uses anyway. When it's cheaper to make a Brick/Energy Projector than it is to make just an Energy Projector, there's something unballenced.
  4. Yeah, like the new Sinestro figure. Have you seen that one yet?
  5. Well, IMO, STR, DEX, and CON are all overpowered. I would have raised the cost on all three of them. I didn't make the game, so I play it the way it is made and do my best to control the the posible abuse.
  6. Add an advantage to running as aposed to a limitation to flight.. I've actually given it some thought, and I could see a reason why it would be better. Though I still think the best way to do it is through the given method.
  7. If the only thing this device does is make them human size, then it is shrinking. Just figure out how much growth it would take to make a human thier natural size, and then buy that many levels in shrinking. ie. If your guy is normaly 24ft tall, that equates to two full levels of growth. Give him two levels of shrinking and he'll be human size.
  8. Re: Archive Request Why would you want to do that?
  9. I don't like this game Why can't we play something else Maybe Champions
  10. This I also agree with. If you're talking about someone who does this all the time, then he has to do something with the host intelegence. Also, there needs to be at least one way to perminantly kill the character. Something like the same kind of attack he uses on his victoms(BOECV killing attack).
  11. Re: Is Move-Through Abusive Ok. everyone here is talking about how to limit this kind of thing. From what you said, this only happened once. That hardly qualifies as abuse. Is there the potential for abuse? Sure, there is for every power if you're creative on how you use it. I wouldn't do anything unless the player actualy starts to be abusive with it.
  12. Well, he wasn't afraid of Godzilla, so he must be tougher than he looks. "Here lizard, lizard, lizard"
  13. I have never played M&M, so I dont know how much help I'll be, but if I'm hereing correctly, it's a d20 game. That in and of itself would be enough for me to not want to play it. D20 works fine for fantasy games, but every time I've tried playing a d20 based hero game, it doesn't work. Hero works great.
  14. We have a character in our game with a sinilar effect on his invisability, except no ego roll. He didn't take vs ECV. We didn't feel it was nessisary. Requires opposed skill roll imo would only we worth -1/4 since most of the time, this this roll will be lopsided heavily in your favor. I think we gave -1/4 for only vs sentient minds.
  15. Make that charge recoverable, so as soon as you get more components you can do it again. Otherwise, it's once per adventure, that's not good..
  16. sounds to me like and NND Killing attack with explosion or area of effect.
  17. I agree. This sounds more like a plot issue than a power. Just remake the guy a little differently when he's killed, and say that's what happened.
  18. Thanks.. I didn't think I was ever going to figure that out.. It's so simple and I never thought of it. I feel kinda stupid now.
  19. Ok.. I may be an idiot here, but I can't find the ID# of any of my posts. Where do you find it at?
  20. Well, in our games, we use tactics to help 'match up' characters so that if I can't get a feel for who should be fighting who, I can make a skill roll so my character can. It goes along with skills like 'analize combat' and 'leadership' as well. We have even used it as a secondary skill to 'teamwork'.
  21. The LS usable by others sounds like the ticket to me. You would also want to put continuous uncontroled on it, so you can cast something else afterwards without losing the effect. Keep in mind, if you put these "spells" into a power framework, I believe they will stopp working as soon as you put the points into something else, even if it has continuous, uncontroled. I could be wrong on that though.
  22. I agree with this completely. The Champions have been around so long, you'd think they'd be more powerful. I could understand back in the BBB they were a starting level Superhero group. But most of us dont look at them that way anymore. Especialy when you consider they are the team representing Hero in the Hero/SAS showdown. I also remember there was a book that came out that had more powerful versions of the champions during the 4th ed run. I didn't have the book(one of the guys in our group did), so I don't remember the name of it. If I remember correctly though, the Champions were significantly more powerful than the ones listed in the BBB. I see them in the 500+ point area.
  23. It's kinda like a train wreck. The funny thing is, by the time it was over I was actually finding myself enjoying the song. I know, I need help....
  24. Well, if you have a computer, the best thing I can recomend is Hero Designer. Not only does it enforce all the rules from FREd, but it has all the regularly used character sheet designs built in. Make sure you read up on it though, as it has it's own way of exporting. On the whole, I think it's a great program. Also, from what I hear the Character Randomizer in the 'Champions' soursebook is suposed to be pretty cool.
