HeroGM reacted to Simon in Skills - Divination
Sorry...wasn't paying attention. You can likely get what you need with just a template addition. Use the generic SKILL container and make two "required" adders for the primary and secondary methods of divination. Non-required adders should be used as normal to represent the additional primary and secondary methods of divination, though that 1/2 point for additional secondary methods may need some tweaking...
Something like the following should get you started -- no need to make any code changes or custom dialogs.
<SKILL XMLID="Divination" DISPLAY="Divination" MINCOST="1" FAMILIARITYROLL="8" FAMILIARITYCOST="1" EXCLUSIVE="NO"> <CHARACTERISTIC_CHOICE> <ITEM CHARACTERISTIC="INT" BASECOST="3" LVLCOST="2" LVLVAL="1" /> </CHARACTERISTIC_CHOICE> <ADDER XMLID="PRIMARYMETHOD" DISPLAY="Primary Method" BASECOST="0" MINCOST="0" MAXCOST="0" REQUIRED="Yes"> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD1" DISPLAY="Method 1" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD2" DISPLAY="Method 2" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD3" DISPLAY="Method 3" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> </ADDER> <ADDER XMLID="SECONDARYMETHOD" DISPLAY="Secondary Method" BASECOST="0" MINCOST="0" MAXCOST="0" REQUIRED="Yes"> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD1" DISPLAY="Method 1" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD2" DISPLAY="Method 2" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD3" DISPLAY="Method 3" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> </ADDER> <ADDER XMLID="SECONDARYMETHOD2" DISPLAY="Secondary Method 2" BASECOST="0" MINCOST="0" MAXCOST="0" REQUIRED="Yes"> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD1" DISPLAY="Method 1" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD2" DISPLAY="Method 2" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> <OPTION XMLID="METHOD3" DISPLAY="Method 3" BASECOST="0"> </OPTION> </ADDER> </SKILL>

HeroGM got a reaction from Phantomxistance in Hero Games 2022 Update
IMHO 90% would be a rehash of 5th with the changes for 6th, maybe some updates to new tech. I'd rather see something like Long has done for Dark Champions packages/templates and Gun Fu, just the facts and no filler
I would support Kickstarter's for Hero books, provided budget concerns, even if they were just at a PDF level.
As long as it doesn't end up like Fuzion. Great effort by all concerned, just...fizzled and misunderstood.

HeroGM reacted to Theala_Sildorian in RIP Scott Bennie
OH my god. I logged in to try and look Scott up to see this.
Oh this is awful. He was such a wonderful guy. My heart is aching.

HeroGM reacted to Simon in How to recreate the Super Tough Body power from the Champions 6E Brick Defense power set?
You're not dealing with Characteristic Powers since you're not looking to apply Resistant to the entirety of the base Characteristic(s) -- use a Naked Advantage.

HeroGM reacted to Steve Long in RIP Scott Bennie
We here at Hero Games are deeply saddened to announce that long-time HERO System writer and support Scott Bennie passed away earlier this week. Please see the thread in Company Questions for more information or to post your own memories of Scott.

HeroGM got a reaction from GoldenAge in How do I add a Computer (AI) to an existing character (6e)?????
Take a look at Mechanon. What you're doing isn't going to go into one .hdc because it's TWO characters.
Try a robotic character that has brought it's AI parts through a focus if need be.

HeroGM got a reaction from Steve in TSR Book Design
This is a free pdf on drivethrurpg. The author basically reversed engineered the books from the ODD (Little Brown Books), D&D B/X, BECMI and AD&D 1st. Margins, table strokes, layout, etc along with what fonts were originally used as well as alternatives. Included is the PDF of his findings as well as InDesign files setting up Master Pages for the different layouts.

HeroGM got a reaction from BigJackBrass in HERO System Skills
A bit thin, no less than books from Paizo though.

It's a great analysis. And he definitely should be heeded when he warns about using some of the fonts for nostalgia's sake. (I'd add a lot more to that list than just Souvenir, but, welp…)

HeroGM reacted to Christopher R Taylor in TSR Book Design
Some of the fonts are worth preserving but yeah many don't hold up well. And there is a tendency to clutter pages up too much and make them nearly unreadable with background art, etc
