  2. Re: Teleportation, useable as an attack... True, but you still have to hit with the Teleport attack vs. their DCV. Plus when has wall strength really been a deterence to good knockback? If you are going through the wall...you are going through the wall. But like I said it is a STOP power to me. I would watch each application carefully. Throughout the game! Hawksmoor

I am not particularly worried about passing this portion, 30-40 thousand people take it annually, but it is a pass/fail curve. I do want to pass and take the Orals in Aug-Oct. Those are difficult. But if I pass I can get out of the NGO biz and into something with benefits, like say retirement. Hawksmoor
  4. Re: Teleportation, useable as an attack... This just makes it a STOP power for me. It means that I am going to have to police the ability a bit more. As to 'Porting people into objects and vice versa that is a separate power, remember that damage is when something goes wrong, it should not be used offensively. Buy a Killing attack or NND EB for that. Why? Because that is what Hero is about, you spend points to get an effect. The effect here is teleporting people into objects and hurting them. That sounds like a mechanic of Killing attack perhaps double knockback with the SFX you 'ported them over there. Anyway what I am saying is you shouldn't give a teleporter any more ability than you would a telepath or telekinetic. In a Superhero game we all need to spend points or use Power skill to pull off tricks. Most of us jiust spend the points. Hawksmoor

  6. Re: Psi Amplification Collar Well I am not certain if it is offical. In the BBB Characteristics were Special powers and could only be placed in a Framework on express GM approval. Strange statement since *everything* has to have GM approval but I digress. In general though think about it. DEX 14 Super has a magic belt granting +9 DEX as part of an overal enhancement effect. The now DEX 23 Super has a MP with +10 DEX defined as a spell of Cat's grace. The later in the Turn he shifts his VPP to gain +5 DEX through another spell this time defined as shifting into a form that is more Dexterous such as an Elf. The Supermage now has a 38 DEX (10 BASE +4 Norm Characteristic +9 Magic Belt +10 Spell +5 Shapeshift Note that HERO does not work on the principle of only one type of enhancement, that is a D20 thing. In general all things stack as far as it goes with Characteristics. The only No -No is in building Attack powers or Movement Powers from different places and trying to stack them. Defenses STACK and Characteristics Stack, it only makes sense. Hawksmoor
  7. Re: Psi Amplification Collar I always thought that rule applied to things like 10d6 EB in a MP and 5d6 EB in an EC and then saying they "worked together" to create a 15d6 EB. That is a no-no. But DR is right you can create as a compound power as long as it is a single slot. Characteristics are immune to this rule, you can purchase them whereever and however, and however many times as you like. They all add together. Hawksmoor

  13. Re: Extra Limbs and Characteristics I am going to agree with Blue here. The limitation should go on the Extra limbs power. The problem is HERO makes limbs a little too cheap. Perhaps changing Extra Limbs to a cost more in line with Clinging. Where you get a say STR 10 DEX 10 limbs and have to up the STR or DEX. The Char cost would be less say 2 STR for 3 points and 2 DEX for 5 Points. Constructed with the Restainable limitation inherent in the build. Doc Ock one offs are going to pop outta woodwork for months now. Hawksmoor
  14. Re: Force Wall Uncontrolled is a little too much, as I would like to be able to drop the Force Walls erected on command. How about this option Force Walls based on an END reserve. I take continuous and set it up to power off an END reserve with the power cancellation being knock out or stun the PC or wait until the END reserve runs out. Hawksmoor
  15. I am wondering if I am totally mistaken. Force Wall is a constant power, lasting for as long as you pay END to maintain it. Given that what are the answers to the following questions. Now can you erect multiple force walls at once? If you can can you then shift your MP away from the FW bearing slot and continue to pay end to maintain it? If no, then what if you bought the FW Persistent (+1/2) Only costs END to ACTIVATE (+1/4)? Am I totally smoking bad stuff on this? Hawksmoor

  17. Re: Sand Powers I wouldn't go with the EB powers, you are right Stretching is the way to go, although you will want to purchase the reduced endurance advantage. Although people tend to frown a MP + MP + EC combo is often the best mechanic for getting these types down. In the 1st MP I would want a few naked advantage slots on my STR AOE (1 HEX), and a few others. Plus I would lobby the GM to allow Damage Reduction in an MP 75% Physical Damage reduction is appropriate. The other slot could be Desolid with the limitation you mentioned. I could think of a few others as well For the EC Running, Stretching 0-END, Growth (No STR increase), Density Increase 0-END and a few other knack powers. All in all the Sandman is a very good character, NPC or PC. Hawksmoor -Tell us how you finally decide to write it up.

I ran a very short lived GI Joe scenario where I did this. 200 points + 100 disadvantages It works out well, especially for weapon pools that can only change in an armory or if you pry a weapon from someone elses fingers.   19. Re: Warning silly question, serious players beware For me it is because this power would not be EDM *exactly* It would be based on EDM mechanics however. The Locations would be events you can set to return to. In our games (perhaps a little to inspired by Sliders) Dimension Hopping was always a tricky thing, sometimes you just didn't quite get where you were intending to go. WE required a EDM roll to target a location. Floating and Fixed Locations gets you *exactly* where you wanted. Does that answer your question? And given the SAVE game nature of your proposed power it works! Hawksmoor

She calls it living out all possible outcomes of a decision. She then chooses the one timeline she *likes* the best based upon her choices. I would build her power as Clairsentience [Precog] 10d6 Luck EDM [For when the universe gets really bad] 10 fixed locations for the EDM 10 floating locations for the EDM This is just the power for an upcoming Galactic Champions game.
