  1. Re: Take a Teammate to a Movie Forgot the "why" part. I just think it's one of the most-life affirming movies ever. From the character description she's already had all the training she needs.

    Time Hero

Re: Time Hero Had a '30s pulp avenger-style character transported to "today" for a mini-campaign, but that was more a plot device than a time-travel adventure. In a Star Trek game, we had the obligatory time travel back to a past Earth. This was to save Zefram Cochrane from being murdered before he makes his famous flight (this was run before the Star Trek movie with a similar plot).
  3. Re: Take a Teammate to a Movie My Neighbor Tortoro.
  4. Re: CHAMPIONS LIVE ACTION Kickstarter from Darren and Silverback Press!
  5. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? VttBotS would definitely seem slow and padded to most folks today, as today's editing techniques are not in evidence and the writers still seem to be approaching episodes as stage plays. Of the anime shows you mention, we only got Speed Racer. That only lasted for one year, probably because somebody freaked. Still one of the more intense things I saw as a kid.
  6. Re: Darren's Golden Age Champions Playtest: the United Sentinels of America
  7. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Thanks. It's helping me get through the 1st season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, which six episodes in does not know if it wants to be a Cold War-themed science adventure or The Outer Limits with a recurring cast. (It will become neither, but that's later.) My local TV never ran Ultraman when I was a kid. Seeing it as an adult, the show still has its own internal logic.
  8. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? It's a children's show, so that makes complete sense. When I worked my way through my set, I never watched more than two eps at a time to avoid the overkill factor. Took a break every couple of days too.
  9. Re: Darren's Golden Age Champions Playtest: the United Sentinels of America Count me in as wanting to see more.
  10. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? It's amazing how surreal some of the later eps are. I beleive they brought in a director known for art films to work on several eps.
  11. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Already got it. Will vouch for its coolness. If that's the word.
  12. Re: Help: Canonical CU references to Lurranga? and some ideas. The only reference I've found so far is a short blurb in 4e CU that desctibes it as an "extremely impoverished and wartorn" nation. EDIT: According to the 5E Until Sourcebook, Lurranga joined the UN in 1993.
  13. Re: Major Champions episodes planned (tentatively) It does indeed sound like fun. Repped for sharing.
  14. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? The first two episodes of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. Bought the first season sets since Best Buy has all of them on sale now.
  15. Re: Restricting/Redefining DNPC I'm not certain it needs one. I'd just let it develop (if it does) through role-playing. Redefining the DNPC makes sense for modern games; as the point totals for beginning characters keep going up in later editions of Champions, the point totals for DNPCs good get a boost as well. If you want to differentiate between types, drop the "D" from the designation for the more capable ones.
  16. Re: Thought Experment: Clasic Enimies 2 Yep. In Central America, according to 4th ed CU.
  17. Re: The Guardians Project - Lets build the original Champions If Dove's the former, than just about any predatory bird or bird-like thing will do. If Dove's the latter, I'd go with something like "Archangel" or "Michael". Still angelic instead of demonic, but playing off the more war-like aspects.
  18. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "Self Made Man" by Howlin' Rain
  19. Re: CHAMPIONS LIVE ACTION Kickstarter from Darren and Silverback Press! It's a fine idea. I fear the price difference between signed and unsigned copies may be too much for folks.
  20. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? War of the Arrows, a South Korean martial arts epic.
  21. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? I had exactly the same reaction, and I know it would be incredibly extravagant. I attended a Japanese culture festival recently, and picked up loads of travel brochures. This has not helped.
  22. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... I didn't expect that.
  23. Re: CHAMPIONS LIVE ACTION Kickstarter from Darren and Silverback Press! Over the halfway mark now, with 16 days to go. This could be a real nailbiter.
