  1. Re: Sun Koh, the Nazi Doc Savage. Character and links.
  2. Re: Who would play your hero(ine) in a movie? I've never actually used actors or musicians as a basis for the look of a character. My group did, however, use them outright. There was a Call of Cthulhu one-off where we all took the roles of prog-rock guitarists. I was Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd, someone else was Steve (The Pumpkin King) Howe of Yes, another guy was King Crimson's Robert Fripp, etc.
  3. Re: Best Headquaters/Base Site in Seattle? Underneath the Experience Music Project. But I'm a music geek, so...
  4. Re: Sun Koh, the Nazi Doc Savage. Character and links. Still very much an extended work in progress, but I like this site for comics: http://internationalhero.co.uk/ As for pulp, the best I could get was a list of certain mags on Wikipedia after a search for "German pulp" failed to turn up anything specific. Jess Nevins' pulp and comics sites are great, but not very active currently.
  5. Re: Beware of late night commercials..... Given the amount of manga and anime devoted to fighting and sports, I would have thought we'd have been something MMA themed by now.
  6. Re: Allen Thomas projects? Hadn't paid that much attention to who was doing the writing before I came here, to be honest. But now that I have, count me in as a fan as well.
  7. Re: What "Pulp" have you read lately ? There's almost no buzz anywhere for that film that I've seen. Which is just odd. Back to the topic, I think I'm finally going to get around to reading that Avenger short-story collection I picked up last year.
  8. Re: Bas-Lag setting That's definitely the correct spelling. A quick search of the name dug up a few things, like Curufea's old website on the topic. Which I hesitate to link to because I don't know the situation. But it's out there.
  9. Re: Second Best Game System ? Perhaps. But those same universally-loved characters are going to be licensed for all sorts of other things that compete, like computer games.
  10. Re: Bas-Lag setting There's been at least one attempt at a Bas-Lag RPG that I'm aware of. Last I'd heard, a company called Adamant had the rights and were still working on it.
  11. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Going the artist route: Iron Man Ray BatManet Renoir and Stimpy The Stainless Steel Seurat Vincent van Gogh-bot

  13. Re: Guide to Street Supers I know this is a typo, but you should consider going with it instead. I really like how it sounds.
  14. Re: What "Pulp" have you read lately ? H Rider Haggard, and yes.
  15. Re: Support HERO Indirectly... Don't give up. It's like what a musician friend once told me about songwriting: He had to write 10 bad ones before he could get anything good.
  16. Re: Catch Me If You Can: A Champions Adventure Thanks much, bunneh!
  17. Re: CotN Outtakes Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Scott for posting these here. Oh, and that I just got the 5th ed VIPER supplement in the mail today and am enjoying it a lot so far.
  18. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The Iron Lady - Margaret Thatcher invents a suit of armor to protect her heart and help with union busting. Soylent Green Lantern Along Comes A Spider-Man
  19. Re: Rings of Power Some intro research to get you started. Links from there might go in depth on types and possible abilities. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_dragon
  20. Re: Reason for creating team. They're asked to band together by UNTIL or whoever as a distraction/cannon fodder for the Big Bad while the so-called (and doomed to fail) *real* strike is organized behind the scenes? (Of course, that's not how it's sold to the PCs.)
  21. Re: What "Pulp" have you read lately ? I just finished re-reading the 7th and 6th volumes of the Tales of The Shadowmen series. These are pulp tales teaming-up various old (and sometimes new) characters. Many of the older characters come from French pulp fiction.
  22. Re: In Progress From Blackwyrm Games: Mythic America If the Wikipedia article on Janet Reno is correct, than her father came over from Denmark and had the original surname of Rasmussen, so I'd be inclined to say no.
