  1. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Caught a showing of the Oscar-nominated animated shorts. Four of the five, anyway, with some bonus "considered" shorts tacked on at the end. All of them were interesting at the least, but for my money "The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore" was the clear standout.
  2. Re: Skyrealms of Jorune Conversion to HERO 6E. Wow. I've never played in the setting; I've never even seen a copy of the setting. But I remember on the Usenet gaming forums (back when they mattered) how a select number of gamers simply raved about the setting. In other words, I probably wouldn't be much help, but you've got at least one sale here. Best of luck with the project!
  3. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Ozzy Osbourne and Harriet Abbot and Elvis Costello Iggy Pop and The Three Stooges
  4. Re: PMCs--Private(and Public) Metahuman Contractors They've had corporate-backed superhero teams like the Conglomerate and the Power Company, but I think Hero Hotline was the only one to really specialize in "smaller" jobs. I think Damage Control was the Marvel equivalent. The current (and soon to be cancelled) DC comic Men of War's most recent storyline deals with super-powered military contractors.

    Argent

Re: Argent I see what you did there, but then I've always been a music Zombie.
  6. Re: Foods for those that just don't care anymore My workplace cafeteria recently contracted out for some sushi guys, and they've totally improved their pizzas. I am so happy. Evidently Subway and Dunkin Donuts are going to show up as well. This also works for me.
  7. Re: reference material for Street Heroes Probably too different from the original to catch on with its fans, and too different in general to catch on with a mainstream audience.
  8. Re: Time Bomb Blast Effect I quit the X-books a long time ago but loved Nextwave. Jubilee isn't too far removed from what the OP was talking about though, hence the guess.
  9. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Dust Bowl by Joe Bonamassa.
  10. Re: Time Bomb Blast Effect Happens to everybody. Certainly Hero has so many options it's easy to forget some. Would the character you were referencing above be Jubilee of X-Men fame?
  11. Re: Marvel Super Friends
  12. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Waiting for a Miracle by The Comsat Angels
  13. Re: MYTHIC HERO Kickstarter I see that I was right in that I would want to pledge more than I initially considered on the "how much" thread elsewhere. Shouldn't be a problem, though.
  14. Re: Guide to Street Supers While there were some powered super-villains and cosmic threats running around, most of the bad guys of the pre-Silver Age period seemed to be either gangsters or just guys in costumes with a few gimmicks.

  17. Re: Guide to Street Supers Seems like a solid team to me. Batmanesque teams certainly aren't bad things at all, and definitely something you would want as a test. I'm curious as to why the lack of "powered" characters concerns you. Are you planning on throwing powered villains at them soon?
  18. Re: Sci-Fi Melee Weapons: Bat'leth, Lirpas, Lightsabres, Rykk Blades, Koltari, Denn'B A character from the Young Jedi Knights book series, IIRC. So if the off-shoot novels are being included as examples, there may well be one or more where Han Solo uses a lightsaber.
  19. Re: Justice League Detroit
  20. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Or some 2000 AD action: Strontium Dog Day Afternoon Nemesis the War Horse Ghost Ro-Busters
  21. Re: How do you interrogate thugs and villains? It does seem ridiculous but it also seems to be the norm in pop culture these days. The skills other folks have mentioned seem right to me. If I were GMing, I'd certainly see it as an opportunity for some good role-playing by the characters. If I needed examples, I'd get episodes of some of the better cop shows, like Homicide: Life on the Street. Loved seeing Andre Braugher conduct "interviews" in the Box.
