  1. Re: SPells The problem is that the active cost can't go over 20 points. If your running a low powered magic campaign it could work. But if a mage wants any kind of advantages added it really causes a problem at the 20point limit. No you could of course special rule something that could work out for a mage as well. Like the final cost can't exceed 20 or something similar
  2. It's really no different than a fighter or thief buying numerous skills. If really seems to balance out. It's still in the starting process so it could change as well.
  3. The system I'm working on at the moment requires a Mage/Cleris to purchase a Talent (5-10pts) and then purchase Spell Skills. The minus to the spell roll will be based on the final cost of the spell, no the active cost. Although so limitations will not be allowed to count for theroll modifier such as charges. There will also be a spell requirement. That is your required to have x amount of points in spells before you allowed to take certain spells. I am also allowing Mages/Clerics to take a skill based on a set type of spell if they wish. Healing, Wild Magic, Fire, Water etc. IF they choose to take this roll they can gain pluses to their spell roll. Something along +1 if roll is made +1 for every addition 2 points the roll is made by. This can then be used to offset the minus to their spell roll They will be allowed to start the game with up to 10 spells if they wish. Gaining new spells will take XP & they will have to locate either a scroll, book, or mage/cleric with the spell. If debated on allowing a Mage/cleric to buy familiar with a spell. Then they can buy the full spell later. Still working on everything though
  4. I think it's make a nice book together. Get the bad guys of the town along with other NPCs. Make for a very useful book I'm looking forward to it all myself. I like having several city settings to use in a campaign
  5. True, but then you have a screaming crying 5 year old to deal with. The cheering will stop quick
  6. I'd like to see some write-ups of the following: 1)a few "D&D" type critters. Not to many but some of the monsters people have come to expect in a fantasy setting 2)Either a rewrite of the Dragon or a list of option to add to the Dragon in HSB for making multiple types of dragons. 3)Demons, Undead & Devils 4)Unusual critters. Maneating trees or fungus, Vorpal bunnies . Just thing noone really expects to run into.
  7. The big purple dino walks through town singing & Smashing. The heroes of course have to stop it. When the first hero hits the purple pal all the kids on the street watching start crying, "He's hurting him" So the problem, Stop the purple dino without causing a major image problem!
  8. Will you be redoing and rereleasing the first 3 books of the series?
  9. My plan at the moment, not having FH still using the PDF, is to have mages and clerics buy a perk for their magic use. Then buy spells as a skill. I thinking of having the minus to the magic roll use the final cost instead of the active cost. The reason is if you use the skill theroy and only use the active cost, what's the point of limitations on spells at all. Figure I'll start with this and through trail and play see where it leads us.
  10. He's very comic book. Doc. Doom can take on the FF or Avengers single handedly or stay behind the scenes and cause problems. This is what DR. D can do as well, while he can stand toe-to-toe with the best of them he tends to let others do his work for him. While would a man who can make awesome suits for others not make one for himself Besides you can always tone him down to match your campaign
  11. I'd like to see a more indeapth look at a setting for any game. Terran Empire, while being well writen and awesome, is still a bit fague about a lot. I hope some of the setting will go more into the cities, people and such.
  12. Ok, after reading the FAQ now I'm wondering if I'm doing it right so.. If hero a receives 10 inches of knockback. He goes 2 inches into the a wall that has 4 Def 3 Body then travels 1 more inch. Is the damage Method A Inches traveled and then the wall = 1Dd(3"/2) + 7D6(Def+Bod)=8D6 or Method B Inches of KB + damge of wall 5d6(10"/2) + 7D6 (Def+Bod) = 12D6 I've been doing B but now I'm thinking it's A
  13. Re: Re: Nonsensical and out-of-genre results in HERO fantasy. He'd get is normal PD against a killing attack? Did they change a rule I missed?
  14. I can't find in FRED where it explains my answer, although I'd bet it's there somewhere. IF a person buys lightning reflexes for all actions, lets say +5 and has a 20 dex. Does this mean for who attacks first he always is concidered to have a 25 dex? Assuming the character chooses to use it fo course.
  15. I have a mentallist that does images. She also has powers that are used to "simulate" the attacks of the images. So if I create a image of a gunman. After the breakout roll for the image, would attacks hits him from the images, bought as a EB or ego attack, cause further breakout rolls?

    DR. D's Warbots

Re: i am also a fan No the cardboard figures are in the free section. Ben posted the following for the write ups Page 153 of Champions Universe tells you to use the following characters from Champions for the Wardroids stats. Type A - Pulsar Type B - Devastator Type C - Tachyon (Increase STR to 60 and replace all Teleportation powers with one MegaScaled Teleportation) Also, give all of them Life Support (Total). I modified them to have the usuall automation abilities. I also made two different types for each model. 1 lower powered, 1 higher powered.

    DR. D's Warbots

I always like Dr. Doom, which is most likely why I like Dr. Destroyer so much. They are much alike in powers and phlisophy on things.

    DR. D's Warbots

I have CKC they actually arn't in that one.

    DR. D's Warbots

I assume we add in the automation abilities as well
  20. Is there stats for the Dr. Destroyer Warbots in the Cardboard character PDF? I found the Destroids, but not the warbots that I can find.
  21. I have a question about breakout rolls against mental powers. Is there modifiers against them. I've found modifiers to help the rolls but none against. If we're doing it right, after being effected the effected target can ignore/breakout/be uneffected by making a ego roll. A normal starting character's chance is 11-less. Seems a bit easy to ignore a mental attack, if we're doing it right. I have a problem spending large amounts of character points for a power that can be ignored on a 11-less roll by a normal
  22. I was thinking of a low level cat buglar type. Not entirely sure yet
  23. There are drawbacks to beating up on normals, criminal or otherwise. First is them getting back at you. Now of course thug 1 and 2 aren't a problem but after the knock over a few shops or banks they have maney to buy weapons or hire a villain or two. second, the police tend to frown on such action. While they may over look the costume nut when he's saving the city. They most like will not have this attitude when it's just thugs. Also, remember thugs have lawyers and lawyers can file law suits. May not sound like a big threat but if they file, and win the case someone is going to have to go after the would be heroes. In a supers setting this would be SAT, Primus, Shield whomever. So if heroes getting to kicking the crap out of your normal with to little regards, sick Quido the killer lawyer on them
