  1. Re: Art for your WWII game More well timed coolness (particularly that Third Reich Ruins site).
  2. Re: Art for your WWII game Sweet. I'm getting ready to start up a WWII-based game.
  3. Re: Western / Steampunk Hero Idea Bouncing: "Bone Falls" OOP? When did that happen?
  4. Re: Slade, time management, and you.... One possible method. Buy a bunch of the character's abilities with the "Delayed Affect" advantage. Then, you just have to be ready.
  5. Re: Alternate Fantasy "Earth" I assume you want a "flat" picture. Try this google search: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&q=mercator
  6. Re: Attacks of Opportunity (d20) in Hero It's not something I've ever given a whole lot of thought, but what you could do is create a new combat option - something like "Abort for Attack of Opportunity" - Allows a character to burn his next phase out of turn to make an attack against a target that has just placed itself in jeopardy. Probably not too much of balance issue. Alternatively, you could create a talent that gives someone the ability to make an attack of opportunity. +1 Speed, only to make an attack of opportunity.

  8. Re: Hieroglyphics... Are you looking to make a character who reads and writes it like a literate native, or like an archeologist? Native: Language Skill + Literate Archeologist: Knowledge Skill
  9. Re: Lookin' for Darkseid in all the wrong places I haven't really given him much thought since I did that write-up (I used him once for a game many years ago and then just posted him). Looks like several folks here though have ideas on how to write up the the Omega Beams.
  10. Re: Lookin' for Darkseid in all the wrong places Yeesh, how cheesy sounding. Unrelenting - I can't believe I gave it that name.
  11. Re: Two Game Master's I wouldn't recommend it every week - but we only did it for the occassionaly "special" Champions game weekend. (We concentrated on a small number of really tough villains - or LOTS of agents).
  12. Re: Two Game Master's With the one truly successful co-GMed game I ever did one of us ran the plot and NPCs, the other ran the numbers - in other words, one was the storyteller and one was the referee. It worked very well, and the game had 12 players.

  15. Re: Astronaut Package Deal Not bad - a little pricy, but astronaut is one of those professions that basically takes over your life. If it were me I'd probably drop the characteristic mods - but only because there is something about characteristic mods in packages that bugs me.
  16. Re: Pulp Reading And, unlike 'A Feast Unknown', these two won't bother the squeemish nearly as much.
  17. Re: New FH GM looking for advice A fixed gaming schedule is good - this makes it a predictable event that players can work into their schedule. When I was gaming heavily I typically gamed with more players than most people would consider optimum, with the idea that so long as most of the players showed up we would have enough for a good game. (All of the people who rotated GM duties were experienced enough to handle a large group every once and while when every did show up). Personally, I have found that as I get older (and the folks I game with get older) real life gets in the way more and more often. (We all have real jobs, are married, have families, etc, etc). What we have done recently to compensate for this is started hosting gamine weekends every few months. Me and a bunch of the folks I used to game with when I was younger will schedule a weekend to get together and game - playing multiple sessions over the weekend (getting in about as much "game time" as we used to be able to get in in a month of weekly games). It's not an ideal situaton, but it's easier for us older folks to manange.
  18. Re: Space Opera To Hero As of a 2003, Fantasy Games Unlimited (FGU) was once again an active company. Unfortunately, I can find no up to date contact info. This address might be correct: P.O. Box 1082-D Gilbert, AZ 85234, UNITED STATES
  19. Re: Fantasy Hero combat slower? I have found, im my games, that powers introduce enough time draining options to more than offset the fact that I use hit locations and a few other "gritty" options at Heroic levels.
  20. Re: YOUR FRIENDS: Cost You Points, or Get You Points? Chuck: Persistant, Area Efect, SPD Suppress. Technically, points had to be paid for this, but it hardly seems like a gain. Egyptoid: Pysch Lim: He's not real, just a figment of my imagination.
