Re: Book suggestions? Robert Buettner's "Orphanage" (ISBN 0446614297) and "Orphan's Destiny" (ISBN 0446614300) are near future, alien invasion, non-powered armor infantry based stories. I really liked them.

Re: Website Aims To Archive EVERY Starship Design. i found these for a firefly class ship, they're completely unofficial of course. and i believe the Serenity RPG will have official ones. aaaarrrgghhhhh !!!!!! i tried to DL them and the computer told me that the document(s) have no data. check back on Mon or Tue. I'll see if they'll print, then scan them. can't do it now, have to get ready to go to work.

Re: Book recommendation for guns? Sorry it took three days, not two:celebrate 3G3 doesn't have a list of pre-made guns. It has construction/conversion rules and a chart of real world ammunition types/calibers and a handy-dandy conversion chart from their system to/from 12 other systems. More Guns has the pre-made weapons (21 pages of stuff...14 of which are weapon tables). Which is only available as a book from BTRC. It's not available as a PDF because he (Greg Porter) doesn't have the data files anymore. He doesn't want to scan the book because he's working on a "successor system" at the moment (for EABA). Hope this answered your questions about these products.

Re: Overwhelming PRE attacks actually, i really like some of these really Evil ideas other people are coming up with. man do i miss actually being able to play !!! i'm about as rusty as a piece of cheap steel thrown in the ocean two years ago.

Re: Overwhelming PRE attacks i like the 5D6 penetrating, no range modifier RKA idea. but, try talking to them first. then after they refuse to follow your capaign guidelines hit them in the head with a 10D6 AP, Pen, NRM, +10 OCV, effects desolid and whatever other advantages you need to get them out of your game. 'cause if they won't follow campaign limits, why should you ?????

Re: Book recommendation for guns? 3G3 has made up guns if i remember right, i'll see if i can find mine in the next day or two to confirm that though. http://www.btrc.net the company's website, it lists both 3G3 and More Guns. but i didn't see them as PDF's there. drive thru and rpg now both have the pdf for 3G3.

Re: Personal Super-Vehicles played a 4th ed. cyberhero "driver" character that was a VTOL pilot (the vectored thrust kind, not the helicopter kind). i believe it was a 75+75 game and to build the "standard" VTOL "van" that could haul the party cost the character between 30 and 35 character points......it was built to match the sample vehicle in the rulebook....no weapons, very low armor, same speed, etc. it got shot down at the start of the first game with it by a punk with an SMG that barely hit. the character was badly wounded in the crash and abandoned by the rest of the party (he got gakked by the punks). so i rewrote the character as the first characters "successful" cousin (ie: wealthy, with several custom vehicles) that came looking for the people that had killed his cousin. made for some fun roleplaying and made the streets safer i talked the gm's into letting me build vehicles on 10 to 1, not 5 to 1. and used a multipower to represent the garage o'coolness. made it much better. then the predators and aliens started showing up.

Re: Question for you Traveller fans. yeah, i goota second the GURPS Traveller aliens books as being really good. there are four of them if i remember right. and you might be able to find them on sale cause they were written for 3rd edition.
