    5) The new Warden of Stronghold is abusing the prisoners in the name of "keeping them in line".  The Villians actually try to reach out to the Heros for help.  (See the "Lockup" episode from Batman: TAS)

    Here are some adventure ideas.

    1) The King Of Stronghold: A criminal with superpowers is still running his organization from inside Stronghold. Can you find a way to stop it?

    2) The Stronghold Experment: A mad scientist gains access to criminals for inhuman experiments. When supervillains with enhanced powers start being released, can the hero find out who and end the experiments?

    3) The Rat: A hit has been given on the minor villain The Rat. The heroes must protect The Rat from the inside.

    4) The Stronghold-Raser (name pending): A DEMON Morbain uses an religious rite and a strange object to summon his gods to Stronghold.

Another good thing for such adventures to have are villains which can fit into many campaigns. With some text boxes about adapting them to different styles of campaigns.

What if the being once brought together is much worse than who he is supposed to fight? Fight villain with villain (which makes enough sense as Fight Water With Fire...it is doable but strange).

Focus in: Collapsed buildings, whether caused by earthquakes or terrorism.

Mind Scan to search for survivors under rubble.

Desolid or lots of Shrinking to move through the rubble for same purpose. (And a shrinker might be able to bring down an air hose or other items, if they're small or narrow enough.) And Tunneling, of course!

Super-strength or TK to move the rubble, and so get at survivors.

Force constructs to move rubble fall under TK.

Supermages, gedgeteers and other people with VPPs can do, well, whatever they want within point limits. Life Support Use vs. Other? Indirect Teleport vs. Other at Range to pluck survivors out directly? Healing powers for the wounded?

Summoned entities (elementals, robots, whatever) to help with the work.

Repeat exercise for other specific forms of disaster.

    Goldstock

William "Bill" Goldstock was a mutant with some odd abilities. He could transform himself into a man made of organic "living gold". Which pleased him because he is a greedy son of a bastard. He made his living getting into superfights, collecting gorged out pieces of his golden flesh to sell for steep prices (away from his body, the pieces stay in whatever mode he was in). He also wasn't above taking bribes from villains, letting them "just" get away. Another part of his wicked plans involved selling promises of protection to businesses and the city's idol rich. One day he did his pitch to the wrong millionaire (one who is also a superhero detective with a love for justice). Soon it was all over the news, evidence of all his crimes. He had to go underground as he fell from being an eccentric superhero with the regenerating golden skin and super strength into the golden bum who doesn't have a penny to his name and knows no shame. This makes him canceled.

And Tiger use Poignard and Esprit in his books, along with new members.

    The member list:
    (Professor) Muerte,
    Kabuki (new),
    Gigante (formerly mistranslated as Giganto),
    Poignard,
    Sabot (new),
    Espirit,
    Bruja Balam (new),
    Charon (new),
    Equinox (new),
    Perro Muerte (new, agents),
    Agents of Terror (agents),
    Recovery Bot (new, agents, robot),
    Infirmany Bot (new, agents, robot),
    Security Bot (new, agents, robot).

While Tiger's version of Terror Incorporated doesn't need more members per say (nine supervillains and five agent types), Muerte doesn't always want his presence known. This, he has contacts to a few superpowered mercenary groups. I suggest the Assasinos (sp!) because they are mostly Hispanic and live/work in the same area.

You can learn more about them in TPP Villain Compendoum 1, till Tiger makes his book. The Assisanos (sp!) are in another e-book.

By the way, he has Steve Perrin's permission (and I believe he is now the head writer at Heroic Publishing).

    The Orbs of Omnicronous.

Six round orbs made of various materials and colors. There is the Orb Of Muscle, Orb Of Mind, Orb Of Fist (or Flesh), Orb Of Energy, Orb Of Spirit, and Orb Of Command.

Unbenounced to others, there is a counter MacGuffin called The Orb Of Chaos, actually increasing the number to seven. But you only need six of them (all but the Orb Of Chaos). The Orb Of Chaos can substitute for any missing orb if needed.

Note: it is quite likely that at least one was destroyed in 'recent' years. There are ways to recreate it...to have it reform from out of nothingness. One has only to find out where it is written and do the instructions.

(Of course it doesn't have to be six and a spare. It can be as many as you wish, as the GM.)

steriaca reacted to Scott Ruggels in History question: Marksman's Guardians
So, Armadillo, what is your goal?  To nail down the characters for 6e, or produce a history about the beginnings of Champions?  As far as I know, the Guardians were the Playtest group of Heroes, and use of the characters was sporadic after the publication of Champions. I will probably  be going to the "get together" on July 4th Weekend this year, at Steve Petersen's house, with the Heroes, for the 40th Anniversary of the Launch of Champions, and I could ask a few questions. (Unfortunately, there are no conventions in the Bay Area this year, due to California COVID-19 restrictions still in place mostly.)  Other than that, it's up to them if they want to be forthcoming with campaign information or not.

Seems to me that most of his Kickstarter stuff is "help me find a printing of a comic book". Of course neither Marvel or DC ask Kickstarter people to fund the next issue of Superman, Batman, or Spiderman.

As for your vibe, remember that it was originally Dennis' take on those characters, not the original takes on the characters. So your not actually reading a hit by hit game session made into a comic book. In fact, there was a Flair story which told of an Icestar fight which went out of their way to give the middle finger to Hero Games combat (he attacked then move, as opposed to move then attack).

Basically Dennis stated that he could run the characters much better than the original creators, which got a few of them angry enough to request their characters back. This Huntsman instead of Marksman, Psyche instead of Rose, Flying Fox instead of Foxbat, Doctor Death instead of Doctor Destroyer. It also caused Hero Games to cut all ties with Dennis. He already got the rights back for The Great Supervillain Contest and the Conoris Effect, two modules he written. And all his characters from the first three Enimies books and at least two characters from the original Escape From Stronghold (Radar and Sonar).

It should also be noted that the relationship between Heroic Graphics and Hero Games is now better (but not exactly repaired at 100%). It probably helps that Dennis has promoted himself to publisher and left the editor and chief and writer to someone else.

Still don't expect a Guardians Sourcebook anytime soon.

I think it is already too late for that. Most of them are doing their own thing, and you need a soothsayer to contact Gargoyle's player. I don't think Hero has the resources to contact them, let alone information.

As for if they had an official transport device, I would love to say yes, but I suspect otherwise. Ice star has his ice slides. Flair can fly. I think Rose could also fly. Goliath can stride across the city in giant mode. Gargoyle can fly. Marksman can either hitch a ride with one of the others, add a jetpack via his Gadget Pool, or take one of his many civilian cars to a crime scene. Heck, if the crime scene is relatively near by, use his Gadget Pool to build him a Swingline Gun or two.

They might not need one, but it is a good thing to have around.

To have a big villain inhabiting Europe for change of pace stories when the GM decides to temporary change locations.

To have a visiting villain group who strikes.

If your having a hard time warping your head on how to use Eurostar, see the sentence above.

steriaca reacted to Normthebarman in What are Eurostar's strategy, logistics, operations, and tactics?
I picked Russia due to their threat to European unity. Their aggression towards Ukraine, a Euro friendly state, and their overall opposition to the EU and a united Europe would be reason enough, for me, for Eurostar to look east. You could also argue that Eurostar would look at Russia as some kind of unwanted mongrel state due to it spanning the whole of Eurasia.

Regarding Eastern Europe, most of the states are either already members of the EU or are striving to be so I wouldn't see them causing too much damage there unless there was some political opposition in one of them.

Thinking about it more, if Brexit is involved in the game world, then absolutely I would expect attacks on the UK until they applied to rejoin. Since that would be seen as giving in to terrorist demands, I reckon you'd be looking at a long and sustained terrorist campaign against the UK and its assets around the world.

For cash, there's a whole wad of dodgy money in the Cayman Islands for them to steal. Maybe helping a corrupt Argentinian president in taking back the Falklands. Attacking members of the Commonwealth to pressure them to break away.

Regarding them trying to control Europe, I'd have them financing militant, extremist pro EU parties and trying to leverage them in to power, while attacking foreign assets. The end goal being the EU ran by leaders under Eurostar's control, essentially making the EU the political arm of Eurostar.

  25. Thanks
steriaca reacted to Lord Liaden in What are Eurostar's strategy, logistics, operations, and tactics?
I think the key would be to make them, not White supremacists, but European supremacists. I've met no few European snobs who tend to look down on America, Canada, Australia and the like as boorish Johnny-come-latelys without the "rich culture" and "mature civilization" of Europe. In fact I've often heard Europeans lamenting the detrimental effect that cultural "imperialism" by the United States through their mass-market media organizations has had on their native cultures. For such people, whether or not those countries are predominantly white isn't relevant, they're still provincial and parochial. Whiteness and Christianity may be elements of that perceived European superiority, but they're far from defining, and white people from outside the continent are not their brothers, they're barbarians. Take that attitude to an extreme, and you have a motivation for a group to reassert European global dominance.
