  1. Re: WWYD - Marvel's Civil War Not having any desire to play in the Porcelain age of Comics, I'd take the first dimension hop out. But, back to the original question: The SRA comes up (insert your own joke here). Get a copy of the law, read it through first. I gotta know what I'm gonna be fighting, after all...Get with the creative non-resistance. Embarassing questions to the enforcers when they show up, plus full spotlights on who's being hired. Calling out exact quotes from the law itself during debates and fights. Constitutional challenges and class action suits. Make sure there's a news team within a 5 minute reach from my patrol routes. In other words, make a lot of noise. And if things get bad, yell for UNTIL.
  2. Re: Whould you buy...CHAMPIONS SOUTH OF THE BORDER and CHAMPIONS OF THE RISING SUN. Part of me would like to see a Japan sourcebook too, but I do agree it's been covered a lot. I would certainly go for a Mexico/South & Central America sourcebook though. And there's stuff in Australia. They're just being awfully quiet about it, I'm sure
  3. Re: Your PC's might be underpowered if... If your... -powered armour is made out of Mega Bloks(1)... -Flash attack is hitting someone with a flashlight... -You take 2x STUN and BODY from paper cuts -Flight is bought as an IIF: Plane Ticket, with one non-recoverable charge You might be a tad underpowered (1) And you believe LEGO would be an improvement
  4. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Outside my skull: Aunt on the phone, fridge running in the background. In my head: 'Legend of Steel' by Luca Turilli.
  5. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Okay, so we need a team lawyer now, too. And, as Blitz pointed out, the door was open. What, the Warlord's going to say 'No! Those punks broke into my concealed illegal arms shipment, stopped a nuclear blast, and put an end to my 'arm the street thugs with blasters' plan'? Shall we then discuss the assault charges against Blitz re: slamming one thug's head into a steering wheel?
  6. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver What wasn't to like? We actually did something loosely resembling investigative work, and we actually had, to the shock and horror of all, A PLAN! Okay, it involved hiding in the back of a semi truck and riding along until we got to the bad guy's hideout (Actually one of the Warlord's Shadow Army bases in the state of Washington), but it was still a plan. And, for one, brief shining moment, Lucky had a kick (BLEEP) Battlesuit. I saved the life of the base commander, or someone near that rung, who was able to stop the manditory base self-destruct. Which I like to think I had some help in pointing out. It was fun :-) But we really need to work on our investigtive skills. A lot. Plus a team technician would be nice. So Lucky could maybe keep said suit. Or have a somewhat cut-down version built. I smell a tryouts episode coming up. (Okay, everyone...make the dumbest superheroes you can think of and have them apply...I call the Waffler!)
  7. Re: WWYCD: Whoa! Ninjas! Pyre Archer : Tag a few with his EB, then do some interrogatin'. Or step back and let Lucky smack a few around, then do the same. Either way, he'd be annoyed. Everyone knows that the plural of 'Ninja' is 'Ninja'. It says so, right in his copy of 'Ninja Burger'.... Like I said, beat up a few of these so-called shinobi and get the truth out of them. Then hunt up their boss and have a few words about historical accuracy with him.
  8. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver A relatively short game, a nice, light re-introduction to the story. So, as I'm charging heroically to fight VIPER, we abruptly Fade to QM ... Anyway; all's calm and quiet, I'm happily chipping away at my civillian job, Blitz is doing the business thing, and Lucky is plying his trade as a massage therapist. It just hit me that I never did a comparison of him and the Blind Swordsman Zato-Ichi; wasn't he a masseuse as well? And Lucky's not blind, nor does he use a sword. Never mind, I'm digressing... So, Lucky's rubbing down some rich guy when the very expensive cars in the lot next door start floating off of the showroom floor and onto the street. Which the rich guy owns, kicking off a screaming fit and Lucky's mad dash outside, to find punks with blaster rifles shooting up the place and apparently levitating cars through some unknown means. Wisely, Lucky calls Blitz, backup against heavily armed foes, from the looks of it. He arives, and promptly takes out, what, eight of the attackers in two phases? Mind, he is a speedster, they were fairly low powered, and they were in nice lines for him to make sweeps at. I arrive, take out one more, Blitz smashes another's face into a steering column (not fun at superspeed), and Lucky proceeds to beat the tar out of one or two more. The rest surrender, the lot owner has a breakdown from the rather nice cars that got trashed (but we weren't at fault, really!), and we later learne that the whole thing might have been a distraction while three banks were robbed by what appear to have been trained attackers. So, like I said, a nice, light return to days of yore, when flame-wielding librarians can hook up with speedsters, telekinetics, and guys named Lucky who plummet a lot. It was fun!
  9. Re: Offical Seal Generator Great link! Thanks for posting it!
  10. Re: Teen superteam Looks pretty good (I'm lacking a copy of Vibora Bay and the 4th ed stuff)! And having a 'legacy' hero sounds like a neat take on the mentor idea.
  11. Re: Teen superteam It's not a teen group/comic, but you might want to check out PS 238 by Aaron Williams. The group's a bit younger than the one you're describing (it's an elementary school), but there might be some ideas you can 'borrow'. Actually, the current arc might be worth checking out; school bully discovers he's got superpowers, and doesn't know about the hidden superhero school under Excelsior high... Most adult mentors have horrible times relating to their younger charges. Maybe try someone totally unsuited to the role (say, Nighthawk), and have the players RP how they dodge around the old geezer. And Seattle's got a good transit system, from what I hear, so getting around for non-drivers shouldn't be a problem. Hmm...that could be a problem, young speedsters trying to street race each other. All I have for now, sad to say.
  12. Re: WWYCD: The Nebula Affair Pyre-Archer would quietly inform her that she is operating on sovereign territory without consent. Therefore, what she is doing could be considered ,at best, kidnapping, and at worst, an act of war, and could she wait there whilst I called up the other Champions of Vancouver, plus any other heroic minded individuals? Not to mention cuing up the 'Missile Deflect' on my Multipower... Richard Chambers, OTOH..."What the (bleep) are you on, you (bleep)? You (bleep) think you can (bleep) come down and grab people? WHERE THE (BLEEP) were you when the WHOLE (BLEEP) WORLD went up? HUH?" In other words...yeah, he'd get beamed right quick. Not a pleasant lad, that, and his absence might be welcomed by some... Pyre Archer 'Nebula beamed me twice last night....It was wonderful...'
  13. Re: Battle of Detroit Dead List? Not to mention all the deceased loved ones and former DNPCs, character backgrounds depending, that one could call up, were they there at the time. A necromancer could make a good trade there, right in the heart of the City. Something about all that death in a single place that'd make it perfect for someone like DEMON to make a play for.
  14. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Somehow, I doubt the base is a TARDIS . But it would be neat, though, if you consider going in for a meeting, then stepping out into 1420's England 'neat'. I would, but only until I needed indoor plumbing... So, sounds like a project over the break. Shame I have no clue about the layout, aside from now empty vault and meeting room. And the big 'Champions of Vancouver Base IN HERE' sign on the side of Mount Garibaldi...
  15. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Just as an aside to all this.... Did we ever make a map of the base? Might be good to know, if DEMON decides to pay a visit or something.
  16. Re: WWYCD for a klondike bar? (humorous please) Hmm... Pyre-Archer: "I'd fight the Legion of Foxbat Clones" (Cue 10,000 Foxbats teleporting in). Eric Chambers (Post Apocalypse) "Gimme the (bleepered) Bar before I...what, I can't use that? Oh, come on...fine. *Sigh* I'd pants Nature Boy over there. One sec while I swap my sword for an axe..."
  17. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Interesting night, lots of investigative work. Didn't get to shoot anyn, but that's easily remedied. And I sense it will be, if the cliffhanger is any indication . What did we learn, boys and girls? Our boy to be recovered, who was supposed to be at a Unity base in scenic NYC, never showed One of the local tabloid rag reporters that, apparently, Blitz knew, had made claims that UNTIL was in fact snagging kids from all over the Lower Mainland. List of names in hand, we set boldly forth. Or forth boldly. Whatever. Whole range of parents for said missing kids; one was hiding something, or was just mentally unstable from the loss. Another set of folx were the hyper-pushy 'hockey as a career' type. Another set was Dursleyesque in its stability. Rest were, to my limited recall, fairly normal, for parents who have just lost children. Found that Our UNTIL friend Lieutenant Gregson(?) was in fact a non-entity; UNTIL Seattle had never -heard- of him. Extra nice touch; Blitz took the Megascale express to NY's Unity training base, on the off chance that this was all a massive computer bungle. It wasn't. So: Our Until guy's a fake, possibly with recovered UNTIL weaponry and equipment taken from what was salvaged from the wrecked UNTIL base. Oh, and Guardian's UNTIL Liason was, apparently, kidnapped. And now COBR^H^H^ VIPER is making a move against CSIS. With heavy artillery. It was fun, bit of a change from the not quite running battle of last session.
  18. Re: [Campaign] Apocalypse Champions Yeah, it was definitely a personal best, as far as damage done gets. And the sea serpent chasing us on land...must have been quite a sight. At least I got to use my Combat Piloting (Bicycle) skill...
  19. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Note to self: When there's a choice between picking up a potential superpowered being with a massive UNTIL convoy and just grabbing him with a speedster... Go with the speedster. We didn't, and we nearly got hammered. Ambushes -suck-, but then, that's the point of an ambush; overwhelm the target with nigh-on stupid levels of firepower, and sift through the wreckage for the target. Points to Blitz for having a better tactical mind that the UNTIL lieutenant. And to new GM Evan for the smackage.
  20. Re: Would you like your character? Pyre-Archer: I'd like him, not a surprise seeing as he's, well, based a lot on me . Knowing me, I'd not be aware of his frequent outings, being a bit of an introvert. Richard Ellison...hate his guts. He's a foul-mouthed, moody whiner. 2 days, I'd be telling him to (bleep) off.
  21. Re: WWYD if you could recieve ONE super power Considered, thought out response: End Aid, only to mechanical devices. And never pay for fuel again...(Or minor Transform: Empy fuel tank to Full fuel tank) Gut response: Telekinesis. Librarians do a -lot- of lifting. not necessarily heavy lifting, but there is a lot of it. And think of the benefits when shelving...
  22. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares The only ones that come to mind are: -The Fisher King of Braves -Robin Hood: Warrior Princess of Thieves -The Faust and the Furious: Tokyo Deal (with the Devil) Just my .02$
  23. Re: Wow....that is a useless power for sure.... Well, the only power I can come up with is 'TK: Only vs ear wax'. As for what I've seen...Way back in the old Wild Cards books, there was a man who could change colour. And that was it.
  24. Re: [Campaign] Apocalypse Champions So that's who/what you fought. Looks rather cool in it's evilness. But that could be the autofire killing attack talking...
  25. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver Yes! (Sings) "Rolling staaaaaaaart!" This should be good....
