  1. Re: Titles for your character Wow, that's cool... I'm going to have to look up some more on this guy... Thank you! *repped*
  2. Re: Titles for your character Senor Mysterio, The Master of the Mexican Mystic Arts. and Bingo the Clowno, Master of Clown-fu, The World's Funniest Detective. And then there's the Javaman and Fidget, the Dynamic Dudes. ( It is only a self-proclaimed title though, nothing the Narrator has used... )
  3. Re: Titles for your character I'm sure that makes him popular with the ladies... :-D
  4. Re: Fun Character concepts There have been a couple very entertaining ones... Unfortunately I've only gotten to play them at Cons. I think I hurt several people's brains with Bingo though... Senor Mysterio, the Luchador, and Master of the Ancient Mystic Arts of Mexico. He had spells based on famous Luchadores, like the 'Scintilating Spheres of El Santo', or 'El Dandy's Defensive Disks'. Bingo the Clowno, Master of Clown-Fu and Circus Detective. He inherited the mystic Clown's Collar, a ruffled clown collar that bestows upon its wearer the powers of Bingo! Amongst his tricks was an inflatable head for flight, inflatable clown shoes for some Leaping usable by others, Jumbo-sized growth, Micro-clown shrinking, Accordian arms, a bellybutton rocket, and a Circus in his pants. ( An actual circus, in miniature, would come out of his pants to disrupt everything around. A Circus in my Pants: Change Environment 4" radius, -2 OCV, -3 Int Roll and all Skill Rolls based on Int, -3" Running, Multiple Combat Effects, Personal Immunity (+1/4) (60 Active Points) )
  5. Re: The Godfather and sticky wood Well, for the first part of the question, that is pretty much the definition of Entangle with a Set Effect ( hand )...
  6. Re: Final Fantasy potions and items and Monsters I am putting together a FF themed Hero game and did a bunch of conversions. I went down the list of combat usable items from FF7 and wrote up pretty much everything. The way I am going to run things, once you are dead, you are dead. No coming back. Phoenix Downs will be the only way to get those who are in GM's Discretion Land back on their feet. Currently there is some overlap as I have both potions and Phoenix Downs usable on those between -1 and -29 stun, I haven't decided whether to keep that or make the potions only usable on those with at least 1 stun. For the purpose of the game, 'Healing' is going to totally ignore the 'once per wound per day' rule. I'm going to be using Jobs, and each character will have to pay points for their weapon and armor's base abilities which will not change throughout the game without spending more points. But as each character finds a new armor or weapon, it will have special abilities that they don't have to pay points for. It is ending up as some bizarre conglomeration of Heroic and Superheroic regarding mechanics. http://arkham.genesismuds.com/hero/ff/Equipment.html The section on here for 'Memory Gems' is a varient on Materia I'll be using. Each gem can be socketed into the characters accessories which will probably have from 0 to 3 sockets available. They will be acquired by encountering the dead and remembering them as they would wish to be remembered. An example being 'The hero walks to to the makeshift grave of a great knight who died saving his village from a horde of Catoblepii, he pauses a moment to read an inscription on the heroic death of the knight, and has the Warrior Gem bestowed upon him.' So... This is pretty much just a brain dump, hope it is helpful, request for ideas, suggestions, opinions, or screams of rage kind of post. Enjoy. Edit: Oh, and I am so glad I'm not using an active point limit, or making people pay points for these... The 'Cauldron' item is 1209 Active Points by itself...
  7. Re: Name Help: Eyptian Sorceress villian Hate me now... Mummy Dearest. You may begin the hate. :-D
  8. Re: What I Learned from "What I Learned" threads Yes... Yes there is... *shudder*
  9. Re: What I Learned from "What I Learned" threads I learned that there are people who rep people who post about getting or not getting rep. /* waiting for rep :-D */
  10. Re: What's your team missing? We have no speedster, though we are about to gain one. The Energy Projector has missed a number of games, and usually puts his gravity powers on Density Increse anyway, so there's another thing we're missing. No Patriots at all. Nor any leadership either. Perhaps those are related... At least they are finally learning some restraint. The Martial Artist/Weapon Master remembered that he had a bo staff in addition to his katana. Those darn Samurai, they're wacky!
  11. Re: If You Had To Play a Marvel Character… Dr. Strange, for pretty much everything. The 'Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth', the kick-butt cloak, the tea with extra-dimensional entities... Silver Surfer, for the ex-Herald angst. Cloak, for the powers, the angst, the super-hot partner.
  12. Re: Playtesting Champions With Cats And that is why man invented squirt bottles... Very helpful for keeping cats off the table. Not helpful in keeping toddlers off of the table. They like it. :-)
  13. Re: Character Curveballs It gets better everytime I read it... Repped!
  14. Re: Help with a mexican masked wressler Just a couple naming suggestions: El Hombre de Ocho Caras! - The Man of Eight Faces Profesor Ocho - Professor Eight
  15. Re: Help with Ram powers for a super villain. Awe, poop. Well, they are related, and in many languages are the same word, so... Ignoring that whole goat vs. sheep thing, LS would work, as well as clinging.
  16. Re: Help with Ram powers for a super villain. A Ram is a male goat... With all the powers of a goat, he can eat anything...
  17. Re: Character Curveballs Here's another one, also not animal related. Helped a friend write it up for a higher powered game set in the 50's... Jedediah "Jed" Smith, aka Farmer Dead. He's the ghost of a Puritan Farmer. His powers revolve around being dead, aside from his Ghostly Pitchfork which unless he spends END to suppress his Desolid and Invis ( 15 End a round ), he can't use except on other ghosts. His ghostly powers however do include Possession, and a small amount of TK Affects Physical. Farmer Dead
  18. Re: Character Curveballs Bingo. Bingo the Clowno Bingo. Bingo the Clowno. A detective for the Institute of Circus Investigations. Bingo is a clown. Bingo is a master of Clown Fu. Bingo can inflate his feet into massive trampolines that others can leap off of. Bingo can inflate his head, have a propeller pop out the back, and float around like a blimp. But a clown. Bingo can grow to be a GIANT CLOWN. Bingo can shrink to be a tiny clown. Sometimes his head explodes with glitter and pinwheels making sight, hearing and even radar impossible. His arms shoot out like party blower things. He can shoot a single rocket out of his belly button. He has a circus in his pants. No, really, an actual Circus. Acrobats, animals, and micro-clowns on bicycles start running around, being entertaining, but really being in the way...
  19. Re: What power would I use to represent this? Sounds like a clear case of Tunnelling, 25 Def ( or more ), extra time, etc...

Merely an toddler by his People's standards, he was upon a ship with his parents out on a site-seeing tour in the backroads of the Galaxy. His parents ship was fired upon by a hidden villain base seeking to drive off any passers-by. The ship was struck, and all critical systems failed. His father attempted an emergency landing upon the nearby planet of Earth, but neither he nor his wife survived the impact. The Stranger has walked the earth in the months since, and his innate desire to help people and intuitive capacity for logic have landed him with the Heros.
  21. Re: The Things I've Learned Playing a Var.Power-Pool User Even if you have a small VPP, your compatriots will expect you to be able to move the Earth. So be ready to do so if necessary. This might help with that: 9 Ritual Magic: Succor Mystic Mastery 3d6+1 (standard effect: 10 points), Continuous (+1) (34 Active Points); OAF (-1), Arrangement (-1/4), Concentration, Must Concentrate throughout use of Constant Power (0 DCV; -1), Extra Time (Full Phase, -1/2) 3
  22. Re: Need help with a Villainous Summoner What style game is this? Is this set in a Final Fantasy style world? If so, then I would just choose a fairly regular person-name. If it is for more of a standard Superhero world, then I would definately change the names of the powers. It is all well and good to base the character type off of FF Summoning, but it ought to have themes based on the world in which it takes place. What is the background behind the character's powers? Does he have a pact with various spirts? Or actual entities he commands to show up just long enough to perform a single deed? Does he require 'gems', 'cards', or anything of the sort? Do they reside inside the horn, or do they just come when called and then depart a moment later? Naming suggestions: Dr. Spirit, Spiritmaster, The Summoner, The High Summoner, Master of Names, Master Blaster (heh), The Invoker, The Trumpeteer, The Petitioner, The Adjuror.
  23. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Sechste Strasse - Cookie Mongoloid
  24. Re: Pesky Vehicles. Indirect attacks. Desolid characters entering the vehicle and going mano-a-mano with the driver. Teleport, same thing. Tunneling... Or that 'Personal Defense' disad... That works too.
  25. Re: Compensating for PC Abilities Only once, from a mystic's VPP. And after thinking about it a moment, decided that it would F*** the universe up too much to have that freely available. So that was the last time. I still allow it in a self-only form, for the wide variety of people who can be mauled and maimed but cannot die, but not in a form that can be used on other living creatures.
