  2. Re: Help me make a Casino based Super Villain group That Blackjack based character sounds far too meta-gamey. The characters don't know the # of body they do. Just relative terms. However using that name: Blackjack: Creates 20 duplicates of herself. ( 21 total ) Jacqueline Noir was a high-class call girl in the city of lights, but she got hooked on heroin and eventually fell to street-walking. She was with when tracked him down. She was caught in the crossfire, and the stress, radiation, and the chemical cocktail already in her system combined to give her the power to, amongst other things, create duplicates of herself. After the fight, introduced her to who employed her. Amongst the powers she gained are immunity to toxins ( like the ones she had been addicted to ), slightly enhanced strength, speed, and toughness, and an odd form of nightvision, seeing in UV. might or might not still be working for , but Jacqueline has grown quite fond of her sugardaddy, and he does pay her well.
  3. Re: Favorite Green Lantern Favorite Green Lantern: Alan Scott. Favorite member of the Green Lantern Corps: Mogo, the planet.
  4. Re: Munchkin powers on legal active point costs I don't think this one does what you think it does. A 'Self Only' Change Environment means it only affects you. And as you didn't buy personal immunity, you've just given yourself -X OCV with no other effect. Now a -X OCV, change environment, Usable As Attack, Personal Immunity would keep your whole team from a single target. But negative combat skill levels would do the same thing with less effort in the writeup.
  5. Re: Shrinking and Growth: Comics vs. HERO System. I think it really depends on the Age of the game you're running. A bronze or iron age game could certainly require such limitations on normal uses of shrinking. But in a golden/silver age game, having a 1/2" tall person pick up a normal size person and carry them around would fully fit the source material, at least as much as Mighty Mouse, Atom Ant, or Superman can pick up an oil tanker by one end and carry it around. It also would depend greatly on special effect. I don't recall the Atom ever having issues getting around, you just see him in different places from panel to panel, though I must admit I have only a few appearances of him from the silver age to judge by. But a FF/Challengers of the Unknown type team, where someone builds a Shrinking Ray for either nefarious, or experimental purposes, then the limits of small size become the whole point of the adventure.
  6. Re: Another Brick in the Wall (Tell me about your Brick!) Always the GM, almost never the player... Most of these will be will be about bricks played by the players, or NPC bricks. What was your favorite Brick? Holocaust - an 80 STR brick, elemental of hate and burning winds, with a 'Searing Winds of Fire and Despair' power, penetrating RKA, suppress running, leaping, gliding, flight simultaneous, and an 'Aura of Oppression' which drains PRE and EGO both with massive 16" radii. He's a minion of the Martian 3rd Reich, and married to another supervillain Lady Lava. They have one kid. What was your most fun brick and why? Landshark. He's a former 'supervillain', trying to recover. Currently employed as a UPS driver, formerly in pizza delivery, and other similar jobs. ( Anything that lets me go, "*knockknockknock* Landshark!" ) He saw a movie and was overcome with guilt, so now he tries to remind himself that "People are Friends, Not Food." What was your most powerful Brick? The Golem. A PC someone played in the first Hero game I ran, a rather Cosmic powered game. The finest Israeli super-technology combined with a bit of the divine. He was the victim of a martial throw at megascale speeds. He used his non-megascale flight to control his movement enough to aim at a small uninhabited planet, but instead of crash-landing, he cracked the planet in half. But at least he slowed his movement enough for the other PCs to get to him before he left the solar system.... What is the most unusual Brick you have played or seen played? Patches. A 75 STR Zombie in a mystic themed game. He has Knockback Resistance defined as losing a random body party instead of taking knockback. He also has healing/regrow limbs defined as finding and sewing back on either his own limb, or a replacement that isn't currently in use.
  7. Re: How to kill characters? Have a nuke with all the characters in range of it. Then allow the character least qualified a chance to disarm it. They say, "Trust me. I know what I'm doing." Then everyone dies.
  8. Re: Two-Weapon Fighting and Double Tap Talent Also, wouldn't you have to have the Rapid Autofire skill to do what is essentially a rapid shot with autofire?
  9. Re: Bricks Get Hosed, Or Not Disagree, totally. With the useful things you can do with just STR as is, allowing the rest of it in an EC would be overkill.
  10. Re: [Help me Build...] Paprika And here I was expecting a write-up for the little spice-jar from Blue's Clues...
  11. Re: Would you allow it?: A FF buster Personally, it sounds like a setting-specific ability. And for that setting all FF and FW should have possibly an opposed skill roll of systems operations : Force Field, vs. Detect Force Field Signature PER roll. If it isn't a setting-specific ability, then I'd go with Find Weakness vs. Force Walls and Force Fields.
  12. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero -- What Do *You* Want To See? A mention of a Six-String Samurai style setting, or standard 80's heavy metal video setting. Guns and circular saw blades built into guitars, etc. I think that would be cool.

    test.

Re: test. Not only do I not have anything witty to say, I'm also coping a poster above by saying I don't have anything witty to say. What a state I'm in! ( And I think I failed the test, anyway... )
  14. Re: Betterman Energy Balst Woah! 4-year Necro... But I have nothing to add...
  15. Re: Toying with new character concepts 1. http://arkham.genesismuds.com/hero/Champions/Mud%20Tracker.HTML 2. How about Pyrokinetics? or Postcognition? The first would be a slightly modified Energy Projector, the second could be an interesting take on a detective type. Especially if it is more like psychometry. 3. Like how? A person who rebuilds things around him as if they were legos? Elemental Transmutation? Or someone who can manipulate all matter as if it were clay...
  16. Re: CHAR: The Hellrider (Witness my unbridled munchkinry) Looks neat. The main issue I noted was that Con, only to avoid being stunned is no where near a -1 1/2. Aside from figured characteristics, that's the only purpose for con. I'd allow -1/2 at most, maybe even -1/4 since you're also getting -1/2 for No Figured.
  17. Re: Japanese Gothic Having the ritual performed every 2 days could count as the required method to prevent the ressurection... Since if it is not performed, he stays dead, right?
  18. Re: CHAR: Doctor Atomic He needs about another 260 STR, only for lifting -2, 1 continuous charge for 1 minute or so. Just enough so that with effort, he can stand between two colliding earth-sized planets and push them apart with pure brute force. One of my favorite Silver-age brick tricks is a rediculous amount of stretching, OIF Building or Mountain of Opportunity representing him picking up a building or mountain, hitting someone with it, then putting it back, unharmed.
  19. Re: Your occupation, please. Bingo : Clown Detective ( don't ask... ) Dr. Damascus : Doctor, not currently practicing though. Paladine : Millionaire Playboy. Satire : Black Ops.
  20. Let us suppose Dr. Halloween has a spell that activates upon a trigger. He, through meditation and incantation AIDs his spell up from 30 AP to 60 AP. And then before the points fade, he sets the trigger. Later that day, long after the points have faded, the trigger is activated. How many APs is the spell hitting with? 30 or 60?
  21. Re: Reducing Movment speed... Drain or Entangle? Change environment. -X" of running, leaping, flight, etc.
  22. Re: Marvel Apocalypse 1,000 Years? Right around time for the Master of Mystic Arts to be passing the torch... So Dr. Strange could definately be around...
  23. Re: Best Mystic comic/character ever?
  24. Re: Music To Raise The Dead Dunno about Feed my Frankenstein... If you listen closely to the lyrics, you'll find that its actually about cunnilingus, not monsters...
  25. Re: Music To Raise The Dead Glenn Danzig's Black Aria is quite good for a necromantic feel. It is Electro-classical, and likely the inspiration for things like Midnight Syndicate and the rest of the synth-gloom genre. Also, track 66, "Invocation" from Danzig's IV album is quite evocative, if more demonic than necromantic.
