  1. Climbing back to the original topic.... I’ve always found the book Farnham’s Freehold very useful for the sequence detailing the contents of the fallout shelter. It is a very well thought out list of supplies needed for any long term quarantine. While I myself love the works of Robert Heinlein, I realize the book in total is not one of his best and that some parts are very problematic by today’s standards.
  2. A cool cry, but even though they’ve been in comics and movies, the Transformers are primarily known as an animated series.
  3. While both of these calls to battle strike fear in the hearts of evildoers, they are not rallying cries to a team, but to a single member. Others may occasionally use it but it is attached to a particular character. Do you often see a pic of Reed Richards yelling that? If you have a problem with the requirements you should take it up with the one who started the thread.
  4. Just for the record. Other than “Avenger’s Assemble!” and maybe “Titan’s Together!” Has there ever been a good team rallying cry in comics? “Spoon!” Doesn’t count, it only rallied the guy who shouted it.

While I am that old, I think it’s more the cheesecake pics of She-Hulk from John Byrne and George Perez that warped my tiny impressionable little brain.
  6. Personally, as much as I love the movie I sometimes like to call it Buckaroo Bonsai. The mental image of a small tree with a big cowboy hat makes me smile.
  7. Well, if you’re not lucky enough to be surrounded by family and friends when the time comes, it’s at least nice to know he was surrounded by people who thought he was wonderful and hung on his every word.

That answers the first part......but it’s the second part that’s keeping me awake and concerned at 2:30 in the morning.
  9. I’m currently watching The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension. ‘cause it takes the darkness away for a little while.
  10. No there is no shortage of condoms. But when people realize at the last second that they ran out they may be a little more likely to skip it “ just this once”. Do you know what you call people who do that? Parents.
  11. It must be wonderful to live in a world where people behave in a rational and thoughtful manner. You must tell us all about it. If you think not having contraceptives available is going to stop people from having sex...

I thought that was the She-Grond. P.S. Why is She-Grond hot?
  13. Yes, but there are a lot of couples locked up together with nothing better to do and running out of condoms.
  14. I was just going to bring up this topic. Will there be a baby boom starting in about nine months?
  15. This same actor played Rorschach in Watchmen and Kelly Leak in the original Bad News Bears. Among many other roles.
  16. Once upon a time I had the absolute joy (literal, not sarcastic) of running a team of maniacs who were noted for causing more property destruction than the bad guys. (May the Gods bless you and keep you, Hollywood Knights.) They also had more character on character mayhem than a Three Stooges marathon. Only in game of course, the players were all having a blast. All this lead up to the team adopting as a battle cry “ First we’re taking care of THEM!!! (pointing at the villains arrayed against them) Then I’m taking care of YOU!!!” (Pointing of course at each other) And woe be to the wicked.
  17. I’m just curious, at what age was this foundling taken in? I started flashing on diaper duties for and teaching to walk someone a large percentage of your own size. Good parents. Tough parents.
  18. What I need now is a pic of the Golden Age Sandman.
  19. Props to you for your actions, but it would have been worth bonus points if you used canned goods or a jar of pickles. (Pickles because of the weight and the brine gets a nice burn going in the cuts.)
  20. “Hey, this is one of those guys taking our jobs!!” “Get ‘em boys!!!”
  21. After this commercial!! Member of the Guardians of the Galaxy stalked by paparazzi!!!!
  22. Granted, he did it mostly with Wolvie, but from time to time he’d chuck somebody else. He threw Kitty one time so she could phase into a Sentinel’s head and disrupt the circuitry. For the rules conscious among us call it, “Throw vs. willing participant.”
  23. A great job, but you forgot the special skill level for throwing teammates. Or is that something you pick up with experience points?
  24. Point one; This is not new behavior. I worked at Toys R Us during the dark days of the Cabbage Patch Kids. I saw a little old lady drive the point of her umbrella under the ribs of an Asst. Manager in a two handed quarter staff cross body move I’d never seen outside of a Robin Hood film. An inch and a half deep puncture wound. We let her take the doll...nobody liked Fred anyway. Point two; At times like this I always go back to the line from Men in Black. “A person can be smart, people are dumb, panicky animals and you know it.” Watch yourselves out there, the virus is the least dangerous thing in the supermarket.
  25. I just got back from the grocery store. I counted 8 people in masks, and four others in gloves, but no masks. No one had both. I had a mask in my pocket but between the oxygen hose and my normal breathing problems it wasn’t feasible. If I don’t have it now, I never will. I AM THE OMEGA MAN!!!! Anybody got a German Shepard to sell? I won’t pay you, but I’ll make sure you get buried before the vampires come.
