  1. Agreed. Legend of the Galactic Heroes (First version), and Lensman, (books) the preferred melee weapons were single handed axes. Spear, the preferred weapon of infantry in the open would be a liability in tight hallways inside spacegraft, and without gravity, you don't have the base of leverage to take advantage of a spear. If you aren't expecting armored space suits, rock hammers would be a good melee weapo, with the spiked end making nice holes in Vacc suits. (Took Geology in College so we all got Rock hammers and collection bags.)
  2. I'd Like to nominate Chuck Dixon for his work on Batman. He has worked on other titles, But he is best known for his Batman work and the creation of Bane.
  3. In Bob Simpson's campaign, it was [Magic user, I am blanking on her name], Who would take over the minds of Player Characters, and make them willing minions. (What Bob really did was Player characters of Players that had left the game could end up as minions, and that was enough to scare us. We attracted her attention and she abducted one of our team mates (Player went to Michigan for a month on a family matter), We had to rescue them. THis was one of those situation where we used a lot of teamwork just to escape, and Thunderbird used contacts to get weapons that were not available to the public in any form. IT was a Brutal, scary fight, but we got out team mate back before his brain alteration.
  4. Felix 9 would be in an advantageous vantage point with a very high powered sniper rifle, concealed in a fake HVAC housing, following the activities through the optics waiting for the mask to fall. Thunderbird, and the rest of his team would be observing, He would probably be at a fairly high altitude, with his team mates on the ground, in various locations, reporting in. Again, waiting for the subjects to do something criminal. If nothing criminal is done, they will observe them leaving, and then stand down, change into civilian clothes, meet in the back room of a Denny's, and discuss what was observed. Sgt. S.M.A.S.H. {robably watching the parade on Television. He himself is unfamiliar with C.L.O.W.N.
  5. One of the best animated Superhero fights I have seen was in the second episode of the second season of Invincible. It was a fight between Atom Eve, and her "Siblings", on a freeway. both side were being smart, and operating within their limitations. A bit gruesome for some, and definitely not Comics Code Approved, it was just a nice bit of choreography. Also watched a few Episodes of Generation V, and while I like it better than The Boys, it can get a bit intense. At least the plot doesn't feel as bitter as The Boys, and the characters aren't as actively unlikeable. Watch as college students solve the mystery of the secret hospital under the campus buildings, and what the Dean is working on. Both are available on Amazon Prime.

  8. Oh, it's not the system that is complicated, because it's the math, that gets complicated. But once character creation is done, Hero just flows, in combat.
  9. https://scitechdaily.com/spacewalk-snafu-astronauts-lose-tool-bag-in-orbital-oopsy/ Space Plane to be delivered to NASA. https://www.engadget.com/a-commercial-spaceplane-capable-of-orbital-flight-is-ready-for-nasa-testing-185542776.html
  10. Pregens with minimalist character sheets are the way to go. THese are pretty good, though the text is a little bit small. These are good for convention sheets.
  11. Did this ages ago. All the suits were OIF, all the suits were around 275. The limitation on the suit is that only could change the multiform when in the Garage. The basic chassis was similar and in most cases gave me the same speed and dex, with one being faster, and two being slower and more tankie. Some weapons were modular but had the same garage limitations. The suits were built for various environments, from Vacuum and hig radiation, to deep ocean, and places in between. One suit was a sensor suite with only small arms. It worked fine, and lots of fun was had. But then I was always the powered armored suit guy in our gaming group.

  14. In the Traveller games, I tend to portray many Vargr as religious, but their worship is many scattered faiths, based on how charismatic their preacher has been. Solomani Himans carry their faiths with them, predominantly Catholicism, Buddhism, and Judaism. But there are a lot of sects and cults that were early colonists during the Empire of Man, and a lot of those shifted over the past millennium. My aborted new future solar punk gold rush game, it was mostly snooty Atheism, with a few spiritualists that got infected by seeing Earth from space.
  15. San Angelo is California Town. It's in the Sacramento River valley. everything west of the Mississippi spreads out a lot. Streets are wide. The UC San Angelo is comparable to the nearby UC Davis in Davis California, so a UC Campus a mile on a side is not out of the question. because of the earthquake threat, buildings are generally three stories, or less, but there are exceptions.
