So I have recently completed a move, to a place largr enough to not need storage. So I have bern unpacking many boxes of books. Along with finding all of my old gaming books, I found my character binder.  Inside was the original Hero flyer announcing Champions, and also the character handed to me by either Bruce or Ray, for a game GMed by Steve Peterson an that convention back in 1981. I present it to you in the interests of the historical record.

This is a welcome return. My West Coast Metropolis & Gotham were San Angelo and Night City respectively.

Enthusiastic fan quotes for some of the San Angelo sports teams and events, especially super sports would be a great addition. How about Super Major League Baseball or Super Rugby Union? Super Soccer (Football), Super National Football League, Super NBA.... Maybe some non-realworld sports specifically for superheroes: Furious Psionic Fights, or Eldritch Arcane Duels, Around the Moon NASCAR...

There are many ways to incorporate radio stations into your superhero game. Characters can receive foreshadowing or news reports after the fact, they can be questioned by reporters after an incident, or interviewed in-studio. Now, for the first time, we share the unique logos for the radio stations in San Angelo: City of Heroes!
    Enjoy!

At the moment, me. A bit of the material originally written by Patrick Sweeney is being recycled (the non-specific descriptive text), though a good portion is being updated and all-new material is being added, as well.

I'm doing most of the writing at present, though Patrick has expressed an interest in contributing new material, as well.

One of the things we're going to be doing is creating a lot more eye candy to help create an immersive experience, as well as to create a sort of guide for artists. Here's one example: the branding for the various television stations in the Golden City. Please share your feedback below.

Every superhero game needs bad guys... even non-super ones. Here's some more eye candy for you fans, old and new!

A few criminal motorcycle gangs are active in San Angelo. Outlaw bikers are known for their beloved motorcycles, often outlandish clothing and anarchic, violent behavior. Some motorcycle gangs are national organizations with chapters in various cities. A few travel the country, and others are purely local. Every outlaw biker gang has a set of “colors,” ragged jackets emblazoned with a patch, logo or other distinctive mark. Next to his motorcycle, his colors are an outlaw biker’s proudest possession. (Source: San Angelo: City of Heroes, 1998)

Pat and I ran a campaign for many years in a world based on our own city but with supers. It ended up being the basis of a setting book we published a long time ago.

I find peoples adaption of their own superhero universes an intriguing and fascinating subject. Whats your universe like? who are the movers and shakers? is more a DC like place or Marvel? What elements of the official champions universe do you use? or have you eliminated or changed? do you use other games characters such as Mutants & Masterminds or Villains and Vigilantes or Heroes Unlimited? or is it a universe of characters you have completely created from whole cloth of your own?

Mine is a very heavy homage based combo of DC/Marvel with the serial numbers just barely scrapped off but using game characters whenever I can.

    What about you?

I posted the following to another San Angelo thread on this board:

A good real-world match for San Angelo might be Oroville, California, the county seat of Butte County.  It's close to Lake Oroville and the surrounding recreational area.

Willows, California, the home of Thunderhill Raceway Park, a motorsports facility owned by the San Francisco Region of the Sports Car Club of America, is in the county just west of Butte County.

Here is my very direct and honest reply to the above, with the caveat that funding will dictate the outcome to some degree. With that said, however...

I want damn fine city and area maps for SACoH2. I want maps that are large and detailed enough to print as a poster, because, well... I want to print some as posters! I want the maps designed as vector images to facilitate this. I also want maps that can be used as snazzy-looking, hyperlinked maps on our web site. Linked to what? To our disgustingly huge and detailed Wiki.

Nifty news.  It’s kind of funny though.  I’ve never actually used San Angelo in a game, but i’ve (very often) used it as an example of “here’s how to write up a city for a superhero RPG”.

I think that since those conversion notes are already in the Champions Complete supplements, I don't think Gold Rush Games needs to do anything beyond mentioning to refer to it should the GM wish to use CC as their ruleset. No sense reinventing the wheel. That way HD can be used and make the process that much easier.
