Re: Variable Power Pools Also have him come up with several power sets before play. This will help with what abilities he has. This has great RolePlaying fodder as well. I would have him base each power set around 1 specific God or Goddess. I.e. he is channeling the power of a specific Diety. For example, he cannot channel Isis while Channeling Horus. Also a shapeshift side effectthat he takes on the appearance of the god he is channeling. He also takes on some of their personalityand is drivenn to follow that diety's focus of power. Alll power of this sort comes with a price. He may be called upon to fulfill a quest to be able to continue to channel a speceific diety's power. Or other missions. And what happens when 2 of the dieties want him to complete a quest for them that are contradictory? Which one does he complete? Do mummies or cultists seek him out?Or what if one the dieties wants him to 'kill' someone? And do other pantheons have someone like him?

Re: Main Skills of a enery blaster? I would also recommend a high REC. Nothing beats being able to push your powers to get that big blast to stop the big bad after fighting for several turns while flying and having your forcefield up.

On the subject of disbelieving an illusion, I have a story to give you about a dog I had a few years ago and a couch. The dog had been marking his territory on a couch we had in our living room. We couldn't get the smell out. So one night, when the dog was out back, I took the couch out the front. I then went out back and got the dog. When the dog came in and saw the couch was GONE, he looked at us. Then, disbelieving the couch was really gone, he backed up and took a running leap onto the couch. Which was GONE! Hit the window, slid down and landed in his doggie bed, which had been put in when I removed the couch. Where am I going with this, you ask? If a player is going to disbelieve something is real, he has to do something that shows he believes what he is seeing is an illusion. Like jumping on a couch that isn't there.

We have had a topic about what characters can't be built on 350 and what concepts were killed by 350 points. This one asks the question: What characters were made possible on 350 points that you couldn't build on 250 points? Give examples. express your creativity. Explain why you now can make the character.:celebrate

Re: "Agents of ILM" campaign idea: Help me flesh it out? Large fire devours movie sets at Universal Studios I guess ILM decided that the Back to the Future set was dangerous. I think there was a temporal rift there that allowed travel to the future. Fortunately, the videos and movie reels were saved, allowing ILM to send the characters back to their movies and TV shows. Or, was there a more insidous reason? A recent escape by a major Villian who wanted to make sure there would be no way to send him back to his movie.

Re: Time travel in the Marvel Universe Actually, Rachel Summers has the power to travel in time. Even when she doesn't have the Phoenix Force enhancing her powers. It is her 'mutant' power.

Re: Only In Heroic Identity I think Multiform would be better for a hulk like character. one form smart and skillful can't take a punch. 2nd form big strong really tough few skills not the smartest brick in the wall.

MTV was ruined when the videos they were showing started to affect reality. Hence all the 'reality' shows on it now instead of VIDEOS!

Re: Mirror Images w/ Teleport ... also, Teleport w/ Martial Arts I would say buy Clairvoyance, must have duplicate who can see target. This would dovetail right into the Teleport power set. I.e, he looks thru his duplicates eyes finds the one that can 'see' the target and attacks from their location. EB with Indirect, only from a duplicate, must be able to 'see' target from attacking duplicate.

I ran across this recently . Erasable paper A paper that erases itself. I could use this at work. It would be perfect for those files that no one is supposed to see but the characters get their hands on somehow.

After a major battle, while signing autographs from the grateful public, a man wearing what looks like a suit from the Victorian era asks for your autograph. After getting it back from you, he says "I will miss you after Power-down Day." When you ask him what he means by that, he says "You know, the day all superpowers quit working." He then disappears into the crowd. You can not find him anywhere. In talking to other Superheroes around the world, they also have similar stories. Right down to how the guy was dressed. However, some of them say the guy told them they would survive Power-down day, just no powers. What would your character do?

This is a companion thread to the best Super in comics. Who do you think is the worst Super in comics? In storyline, plot, back-story and ongoing story and character concept? And I mean a regular ongoing character. Not someone who showed up for a few issues and was never seen again.

Re: So, what don't you like about HERO 5th? The Rules Lawyers are rampant! You will run into more of them in this than in D20! They will ruin a great scene with a quoting of a rule that disallows KEWLNESS!

In the Gestalt Universe How would describe what people believe to be the embodiment of the true superhero? What powers would he have? What would he look like?

This topic asks the following question: Who do you think is the best character in comics, period? I am not asking best in terms of powers or kewlness. I am asking which is the best thoughtout, with a good storyline and balanced powers.
