Re: Characters Losing Their Souls - How To Handle It? In my mind the creature would take possesion of the deal breakers soul at the time of the characters death. The problem is that heros have annoying tendancies to somehow wiggle out of these deals. what you have to ask yourself is dose the creature want the souls more than the services. If he is eager to collect the soul he could always force some other debtor to kill or arrange an Accident for the offending character, to insure collection of said debt. Now if the creature can take the soul of a living character without killing them I would suggest 2 things. 1 minium of 2d6 unluck, the character nolonger has a higher power looking out for them- they have no soul. 2 look at some disadds for free willed undead and apply those that seem approate to a creature without a soul, at the very least I would make the character a passionless husk of his former self. oh and 3 I would give them a physical disadd - can't dance, cause they got no soul (okay it was a bad pun)

Re: Critique of my villain? I like it but, IMHO you should just give it generic martial arts rather than Akido, as any human stlye martial art is based on human kenistics and physiology. it is missing the automation powers and I think (not 100%) that it's defenses should cost tripple.

Re: Peter Petrelli - How can it be done? We have not yet learned if Peter can only use one power at a time or not. He may not be definable in a point based system. Indications are that he dose take on some limitations of those powers he duplicates. Issac didn't need to do drugs to pant the future, but he had no control over what he painted and appearently neither did Peter the time he finished Issac's painting for exsample. In the dream Peter had about blowing up New York he couldn't stop the radation power that he absorbed just like the Orginal Radioactive Guy had problems controling his power.

Re: Peter Petrelli - How can it be done? I think Peter is poetentially more powerful than Sylar,but Sylar has much better control over his powers. Needless to say if Slyar got Peter's power it would be game over execpt for perhaps Hiro.

Re: Balancing Magic Use In a game where you have good synergy bettewn the players each character depends on the party, if your magic users can defeat the entire party single handedly the you have a game balance issue. If the mage is very powerful but needs the cleric to heal him and the warrior to watch his back in a fight and the scout to keep him from getting ambushed then your headed down the right path.

Re: Drain with Limitation It depends on the prevlence of life support in your campaign, keeping in mind targets still get to use their power defense even if they don't have life support I would say it should be bettewn -1/2 and -1.

Re: Moving out of combat IMHO the genre would also be a factor, in comic books you see stuff like that all the time, the flash,and other speedsters are easily able to disengage from melee, but in a campaign of normal heros it could pose some big issues and make it impossable to things like hold a battle line.

Re: Build your Super Self Mega scale teleport with lots of extra mass and a few floating locations, maga scaled senses, full life support, Instictive astrogation, and reasonable offensive and defensive capablities. I'd start by helping NASA get some things done and the go off exsploring the cosmos

Re: Idea - Hero Points Techically once you buy a power its on your character sheet, you could use ep to buy up the number of charges and hero points would become very cheap do to the doubling of charges. Sure they would be expended but you could by alot of them fairly cheap. I did use a kind of expendable luck in my Star Wars campaign to simulate force points, and it worked well.

Re: Blowing up your own power armor Try an Expendable focus limit on you self-destruct killing attack, the Expendable focus being your End reserve. You might want to buy your killing attack so that it dose damage based on how much end is currently in you End Reserve.

Re: Slow recharge rate? If the recharge rate is more than 1 turn just use charges. Hero systems combats rarely go longer than 2 or 3 turns. Simply buy 1 charge and specify a recovery of that charge taking say a minute or more,if you want to make the power cost end then take the limit costs end. it isn't brain surgery.
