  1. My #1 takeaway is that Denver was lucky to escape the Lakers, who just don't have enough depth/balance/cohesion...pick as many as you like.
  2. That's still a several thousand dollar a day *view*, if nothing else. Jubal Harshaw: You have to give an editor something to change, or he gets frustrated. After he pees in it himself, he likes the flavor much better, so he buys it. Now, I'll grant what you're describing is somewhat different, but mostly in degree.
  3. I can't find it anywhere BUT TikTok or FB, either. If this was legit, SOME of the bloviators would pick up on it...Perkins railed against NBA divas and called many 'stars' uncoachable, for example.
  4. Is there a legitimate source for this quote? I can see a video clip, but it's on TikTok...which is, to say the least, unreliable. I'm seriously thinking this is AI BS, because if Ham really said those things, in that manner, he'd be incinerating his NBA future.
  5. And don't forget there was Captain Mar-vell, the Kree supersoldier (initially) and his convoluted story. And Wikipedia's article identifies Carol Danvers as the *7th* Marvel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Marvel_(Marvel_Comics) Yeah, I'd say that's a character that's never had much traction with the fans.
  6. Well, he already knows watching baseball is a lost cause.... I hear ya tho. Football supersaturation is real. And the WORST time for it is preseason, when there's nothing real to talk about...but the bloviators are in overdrive! Because there's no hype like preseason hype. After a few weeks, reality has started to seep in. Unless, of course, you're a Cowboy fan. Then every regular-season win exaggerates your Jonesian-induced dementia, and it'll only get punctured in the playoffs.
  7. Clearly, the NFL needs to figure out something to occupy the attention of football fans for the period between the draft and the start of training camps, as this proves Mr. P is suffering from Football Withdrawal Syndrome....
  8. First, check you've got Java installed...at least Java 8. It should be part of the Linux install in most cases. The OpenJDK version or the Oracle version should be fine. Then download and unzip HD. The HD6.jar file now has to be made executable. On my Mint install, there's a Properties item on the popup menu...I expect it's there on MX, too. Just click on the Properties. Now you should be able to right-click on the HD6.jar file, and Open with Other Application. That was it...just downloaded and did it on my Mint box. You can also set up a script file, something like this... java -Xmx256m -cp .\HD6.jar com.hero.HeroDesigner Should do it.
  9. Isn't half the fun of Doctor Who how campy it is, cuz it's no-budget? I'm cringing at the thought, but I'm not a big Who fan...wonder what you diehards think....
  10. Bruins get it in OT. Hockey is unique here...and it's where playoff hockey can be compelling drama. Goals, so often, just come out of the blue...and to have a series go to the 7th, then go to OT, to be decided in sudden death, is great drama. I watch almost no regular season hockey, but I'll probably catch a few playoff games here and there.
  11. OK, I think the misunderstanding is, this thread's talking the NET damage you get to do. Yeah, if you can just lift it, then you're not adding anything. So in the example, Grond picks up a bus...a truck's 35 STR, let's just use that. What you're saying is, he'd be hitting with (90 - 35) == 55 STR, or 11d6...when the example says it's 19...18 from STR, plus a bit more because the bus has so much structure. The point is, it's still full STR...thrown, or slammed, or used as a club...as long as the object being used can handle it.
  12. Not even sure I buy that. Page cite please? The objects as weapons section doesn't appear to support this. It actually goes the other way. If I can pick up a particularly solid object...say, 1 inch thick solid steel rod stock...with my casual STR, then I get full STR, plus probably a few more for using such a durable object. And it's nonsensical to say you can throw it for more damage than you can get by using it as a club.
  13. The objection to them is they're packaged VERY much like cigarettes, altho they're not allowed to use "cigarettes" on the package. Wal Mart has moved away from selling tobacco in some stores, dropped e-cigs a couple years ago. Target stopped selling tobacco in '96, so it's not surprising these, which are pretty much trying to foster a cig or e-cig association, aren't offered. But they're not illegal, so of course there are sellers. I also think the bigger retail outlets focus on the major candy/snack companies. That's what moves, especially on a national scale.
  14. Not surprising, Darvin Ham is out. Somewhat surprising...I missed this one, but as the Bucks were about to be eliminated, Patrick Beverly lost it. Badly. We don't know what the fans said, but...he fired a ball, at fairly short range, at fans. One person was hit pretty cleanly in the face. Someone else tossed the ball back...and Beverly did it to ANOTHER fan. Clearly caught on film. Fans go overboard at times; they're tossed out *occasionally* but not nearly as often as I think they should be. But the player CANNOT be goaded. Since this just happened last night, the NBA hasn't laid down the law yet, but figure at least a 1/2 season suspension, quite possibly the entire 24-25 season. I say it's only somewhat surprising because PBev has a history of...not this, per se, but of being an agitator, at least. This may end up meaning his career's over, tho. He turns 36 this summer, and his minutes per game went from 27 in 22-23 to 20 this year. He's a free agent, too. At this point, I'd feel that I could find a kid 15 years younger to play the aggressive defensive role...they're out there...and the kid has upsides. Then a suspension?
  15. Makes sense, plus, it's the first available airport in US territory. Good food and reasonable prices? That MUST be a low-traffic airport! Not enough traffic to monetize it.
