I tried looking up PP porn on the internet.....you don’t want to do that. I think I ended up on a government list. Steve Long
Jhamin
4 hours ago, Steve Long said: I wish I could have gotten mine for only $15,000. If memory serves, the wood alone for all the shelves (I needed a particularly high quality wood due to the nature of the project) cost more than $15,000. Overall I believe the bookshelves alone were 20-25% of my budget for renovating my entire house. That's why I had to save up so long to do it -- since I intend to live in this house for the rest of my life, I insisted on getting the best materials and craftsmen available to me. Unfortunately I had to sell a kidney, a lung, a leg, and my Red Ryder BB gun -- but at least I had lot to read while I was recuperatin'. Well, now we know *why* Steve was writing a new 5th edition supplement every 6 weeks for a while there..... In all seriousness though, I feel like one of my changes from early to mid adulthood was when I figured out the value of spending more for the better built furniture, home finishes, etc. This room looks like something you will be able to enjoy for decades to come. archer

My brother collected high-end and antique razors for a while. That's when I discovered there's an online community for everything nowadays. Lord Liaden
I'm not a gambling man, but I'd put good money down on that. Steve Long
Matt the Bruins
Very nice chest for displaying your hobbies, Steve! Going fine wooden construction rather than steel gets my stamp of approval. Steve Long

unclevlad
Oh yeah, the FP collector community is quite substantial. You've got be beat on numbers, Steve...I really don't know how many I have, but something over 100. Oh, and this is an example of pen porn...not the best, the OP for this has posted some group shots that make me *drool*....but I don't feel like digging em out. So I'll just post this link: https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/a-platinum-izumo-togi-yakumonuri.4088642/#post-39155346 Watches is an even worse bottomless pit...... If you need to know exactly where the police station is on Gibraltar in 1934, where the short-lived nation of Tannu Tuva was, or where the railroads run in the Pulp Era Belgian Congo, I'm your man. Now that is a collection I'd love to look through. Ever think of publishing a Pulp Atlas?

That would be interesting to thumb through. My grandmother had a globe that was made after WWI but before WWII. I found it endlessly fascinating to look at how much the lines on the map had changed. And they've changed significantly more since those days when I was a kid.

Love running games set in the 1880s to 1940s, pre-ww2. But really good period maps don't grow on trees.
Killer Shrike
Quite impressive. I hope to one day, towards the end of my life once the kids are up and out and so forth, construct for myself a Victorian library within which to while away my twilight years. You, sir, are an inspiration. Bravo! 👏
