ghost-angel
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Oh I have no doubts they would not actually lower the price of the book. They want to take students for as much money as absolutely possible because our Edication should obviously only be reserved for the rich. Mentor
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Indeed. I would not insult cocaine-smuggling underage-white-slave-taking pirates by comparing them to college textbook publishers' date=' because the pirates are more ethical and don't gouge their customers anywhere near as badly.[/quote']I would also include in the scum category the professors who made it part of the curriculum because they or their buddy wrote it and then announce at midterm that it was for background reading but the tests will only be from the lectures. Hang 'em. Hang 'em high.

Mantis
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Well, author Colin Thiele died the same day as Irwin. He's well-known as a children's book author within Australia, but he wasn't as famous as either Irwin or Brock. We were speculating in the office whether he was well-known enough to be #3, or whether the fact he died from natural causes (he was 85) as distinct from an accident ruled him out of the trinity. Cancer
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Intentional, freudian, or merely a simple mistake, Susan's expression "feint of heart" is an interesting concept I have to think about. AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER What, at Dragon*Con? Have you looked at the rest of the pictures? There was one girl there Friday night dressed as Mystique (from the movies), I think. And I use the term "dressed" very loosely, here. Unless "busted" was meant to be a pun. In which case:

AliceTheOwl
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I give up. Who is she supposed to be dressed as? If anyone? What Bazza said. A lot of them aren't costumes OF anything, just a random sexy assortment. And why not? They get just as much attention as the young women who decided to go with the theme . . .
