One of the better campaigns is Allstate's "Mayhem" campaign, where comedian Dean Winters in badly damaged clothing illustrates all sorts of bizarre things that can go wrong with your home, your car, and -- in one memorable Super Bowl commercial -- the entire history of the human race. In Spanish-speaking countries where Allstate operates, they use a variation of that campaign featuring a very different villain. Mala Suerte ("bad luck") is very different from the American Mayhem. Where Mayhem is rough around the edges, Mala Suerte is suave, composed, well-dressed, and an utter sadist. He doesn't always directly create catastrophes, but he does take a subtle delight in them. Both are evil, but in very different ways.
