Clonus
Re: Pulparize It! James and Victor Logan are brothers both of whom served in World War I. Victor inhaled mustard gas, while James lost an arm and a leg to artillery and both of them are indigent when they are approached by a mysterious scientist who offers to treat them with a serum he has developed. They take the offer and both find themselves healing miraculously, with James's flesh regrowing around metal substitute bones. At first it seems like a miracle, but it comes with side effects, dark homicidal urges. James discovers to his horror that the scientist is using a version of Doctor Jekyll's serum, and the mental changes are their dark sides being brought out. He runs off into the wilderness to protect humanity from his rage, but encounters and falls in love with a woman with hypnotic powers who teaches him how to control his dark side. But when his murderous brother comes after him...

SKJAM!
Re: Pulparize It! Alverant
Re: Pulparize It! In decades past people thought radiation or whatever could do anything too. One day grey goo will be along side of atomic death rays in the Museum of Bad Science Weapons. GIJoe would have been better if it didn't have the Science! = Evil meme.
SKJAM!
Re: Pulparize It! Astro Fighter Sunred A few years ago, the evil alien Florsheim Empire invaded Earth, starting with Kansas City. Fortunately, the space hero "Ace" Sunred was there to stop them. The Florsheim leader, Lord Vamp, launched attack plan after attack plan, and Sunred bravely stopped them all. And they're still at it. Kind of. Sunred got kind of bored with the whole "space hero" thing after a couple of years. He hasn't worn his flight suit in months (though he still wears his helmet at all times), his jetpack and raygun are in a box in the closet, and he's looking for a decent offer on his rocketship. He moved in with his sweetheart and spends most of his time goofing off. Meanwhile, the monsters and minions of the Florsheim Empire have moved into a small house across town, with a sign out in the lawn declaring it their secret hideout. Officially, they're still working towards world domination, but at a much more relaxed pace. To be honest, Lord Vamp turns out to be a polite, considerate fellow who has a gift for cooking, and he and his lot are pretty much pillars of the community. They just launch attacks on Sunred so they can report back to the homeworld that progress is still being made. Sunred is strong, tough, and good enough with his fists that he doesn't actually need any weapons or gimmicks to defeat the Florsheim monsters (most of which have only physical powers.) You could probably write everyone in the series up with the Lucha Libre handbook--twisting the good/evil axis, a bit though.
SKJAM!
Re: Pulparize It! Daughterof Twenty Faces This series starts off with a young heiress being "kidnapped" (actually, she nearly ran him over on her way to his airship) by a flamboyant gentleman thief, who as his name implies is a master of disguise. She takes to the life, being trained by Twenty Faces and his merry band of honorable bandits. But then disaster strikes... At first glance, all you'd need to do is transfer the time period from the Fifties to the Thirties, with appropriate adjustments to the technology. But in the last half of the series, it becomes clear that the motivations of several characters stem from Japan's involvement in WWII and how the loss affected them. You might move it to post-WWI Germany, but the political situation becomes more complicated to deal with...
