Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

And now to wrap up my series on O.R.C.A. (the Ocean Rescue and Conservation Armada), I present:

The Agents of O.R.C.A.!

attachment.php?attachmentid=31670&stc=1&d=1242917128

In order, from least to most dangerous:

Standard Agents: These are the foot soldiers of the organization, the hired guns, the muscle.

Elite Agents: These are the Agent Commanders, as well as specialists for various operations.

Marauder Agents: These agents, the organization's very best, are equipped with high-tech battle armor that's guaranteed to get the job done--even against supers.

Typical weaponry for O.R.C.A. agents includes a titanium or stainless steel knife (corrosion resistant for underwater use), an energy blaster (reserved for topside operations, as heat dissipation makes it effectively useless underwater), and a spear gun. Agents also have experimental SCUBA systems that allow them to stay underwater for hours without recharging, as well as protective and insulated wet suits. Marauder agents have powered armor that includes life support and weapons capability.

It should be noted that all agents of O.R.C.A. are excellent swimmers, are capable SCUBA operators, and are extensively trained in underwater movement (including combat techniques).

Cascadia

Background

Francis "Frankie" Leithauser enjoyed the outdoors. Growing up in a town right up against the Cascade Mountains allowed her to experience the outdoors to the fullest. In the winter she liked to go skiing, which she was quite good at, and in the summer, she liked to go hiking on the many trails in the mountains.

When Frankie was thirteen she was out hiking deep into the Three Sisters Mountain range, when she heard the unmistakable sound of a rattlesnake. Looking around quickly, she spotted the snake. However, she was too late as the snake latched it teeth into her leg. Poison coursed through her veins and she fell down; tears streaming from her eyes. Frankie had been foolish, nobody was with her on this trip.

Using her canteen, Frankie washed the wound as best she could. The pain became unbearable, and she passed out. When Frankie woke up, she felt strange. She was sure that she must be hallucinating. Looking at her hand it looked as big as a tree. Frankie faded back into unconsciousness again.

When Frankie awoke again, a smiling handsome man was standing over him. Frankie banged her head against a log backing away from him.

"Whoa, whoa, little lady," said the man, "I am like Captain California. So you like have nothing to fear."

Frankie still wasn't sure of the man, but he never stopped smiling. With a wave of his hand, his surfboard flew out of woods landing nearby. Captain California held out his suntanned hand to Frankie.

"Like I was saying..umm...what's you name? I am like Captain California," the captain said.

"Frankie," said Frankie, "I got bit by a rattlesnake, I need to get to a hospital."

"Oh," said Captain California looking a little confused. However, he stilled helped Frankie onto his surfboard.

"Now, don't be scared little girl," said Captain California, "you'll be perfectly safe on my board. I've flown across the universe on this board and have never crashed and burned."

Unleashed the Kosmic power within him, Captain California soared up into the sky like a blazing comet. They were half way to Los Angeles before Captain California realized how far he had gone.

"Are you sure you were bitten by a snake?" asked Captain California, "because I was surfing the jet stream over the Cascades when I saw you, but you were like at least forty feet tall."

Frankie almost fell off the surfboard. She hadn't been hallucinating. The snakebite must have awaken her latent Ubergene.

"Hey," said Captain California, "I know this dude who might be able to help you with, you know, like, how to deal with your powers an such. You know, were, um..., like almost there anyway would you like to meet him?"

Personality

Frankie is a real go getter. Once she sets her mind to something, nothing is going to slow her down. To her nothing is beyond her capabilities so long as she tries. At times when she fails she does get depressed, but later picks herself up and tries again. Frankie likes to encourage others to do their best.

Frankie is very interested in the world around her. She's a natural explorer, often times exploring by herself, which can get her into trouble. Her curiousity about the nature of things seems to constantly leading her on.

Quote

"You made a mistake mister. I'm going to come down on you like a mountain."

Powers

Cascadia is a typical growth brick. She's able to grow up to thirteen meters in height. While growing, Cascadia grows super-humanly strong, her ability to resist damage increases, and her ability to take a hit increases as well. When Cascadia grows, she's able to move over great distances with ease. Also when she's grown her eyes become huge and she can see better than before.

Appearance

Cascadia wears a specially made costume that expands when she grows. It's a skintight light green leotard, with dark green leggings, gloves, and boots. On her chest is an emblem of three mountains. To hide her identity, Cascadia wears a small domino mask. Outside of her Cascadia identity, Frankie likes to wear blue jeans, hiking boots, and a woolen shirt.

lumiere.png

Lumiere

Background

Jean-Pierre is the only son of the Minister of Finance to the Principality of Monaco. As such, Jean-Pierre grew up in the lap of luxury. His greatest pleasure in life was to surf the waves of the Mediterranean Sea. Jean-Pierre had no worries in life. Every day was a party for him and his friends. When Jean-Pierre was old enough, he was introduced to the casino. Jean-Pierre proved to be a natural gambler, but gambling never was as fun as surfing.

When Jean-Pierre turned sixteen his Uber abilities emerged. Fortunately, he was out surfing when the light burst from his eyes. He was looking out to sea and the burst of light energy vaporized a wave. Jean-Pierre was so shocked that he almost fell off of his surfboard. In a panic, Jean-Pierre snapped his eyes shut and tried to think. Jean-Pierre had heard about Ubers before; Armstrong in France, Steppenwolf in Germany, and Solaris in Italy. Princess Susan, herself, was an Uber. So Jean-Pierre guessed that he must be one too.

Very carefully, with his eyes closed, Jean-Pierre paddled back to shore. He was limp from exhaustion and fear. Jean-Pierre was afraid that if he opened his eyes again the beams of light would shoot out from his eyes. Walking up off the beach, Jean-Pierre came to the notice of a gendarme because he was walking with his eyes closed and both hands clamped tight over his face.

"Boy?" asked the gendarme,"are you alright? Were you stung by a jellyfish?" the man had his hand on his radio to call for backup.

"No sir," replied a nervous Jean-Pierre, and in a stumbling voice explained what had happened. At first the gendarme thought the boy might be on drugs, but after Jean-Pierre accidentally vaporized a parked car by opening his eyes, the gendarmes opinion quickly changed. Quickly, he radioed for backup and an ambulance was summoned.

It was in a hospital room with his eye wrapped in gauze that Jean-Pierre first met Princess Susan. When he was told whom his visitor was Jean-Pierre tried to bow, but only ended up falling on his face. Jean-Pierre was embarrassed, but it was Princess Susan who helped him up from the floor.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Jean-Pierre," said Princess Susan.

Jean-Pierre mumbled some sort of reply his ears burning red.

"Monaco rejoices that another Uber graces the principality," said Princess Susan.

"I cannot control my powers," said Jean-Pierre recovering some of his lost boldness.

"That may be," said Princess Susan, "but I know someone in Austria who might be able to help you with that. His name is Doctor Saul Numan, an expert on Ubers. I'm sure that he can help you."

A few days later, Jean-Pierre found himself on a royal jet flying to Vienna to meet this expert. Princess Susan assured him that Doctor Numan could help him and not to worry.

In Vienna, Jean-Pierre met with the doctor and his colleague, Doctor Kanemaru. Together the two doctors worked with Jean-Pierre until he was actually able to open his eyes without firing beams of light. The two doctors were intrigued by his abilities.

Personality

Jean-Pierre is a happy go lucky boy. He isn't very serious about anything. Jean-Pierre is enjoying life too much to let things weigh him down. He can be quite immature at times and has an eye for the girls. Jean-Pierre strives to be a good student, but not for himself. He studies hard for Princess Susan, whom he has a soft spot for.

Quote

"I see London, I see France...I see WOW!"

Powers

Jean-Pierre is an Uber who can project concussive blasts of light energy from his eyes. By focusing the beams, Jean-Pierre can throught streel, or he can broaden the focus of the light blasts to strike multiple opponents. However, Jean-Pierre is still learning to control his powers, and sometimes he looses control. Another side effect of his powers is that he can see through almost any substance, except for lead.

Appearance

Jean-Pierre wears a costume that is skintight and covers his entire body. The upper half of the costume is red, while the lower half is white. These two colors making up the flag of Monaco. When not in costume, Jean-Pierre likes to wear a tank top, shorts, and flip flops. Jean-Pierre is a handsome youth with bronzed skin from a life on the French Riviera. To hide his glowing eyes from the world, Jean-Pierre wears fashionable sunglasses.

marigold-1.png

Marigold

Background

Marigold is the daughter of the retired British super-heroine Daisy. Her mother was active during the '60s fighting crime as a member of the Empire Club. Daisy retired from the super-hero business after she met Marigold's father, who as a bass player. Marigold was their only child.

As Marigold grew older, her parents changed from the free spirited hippies that they were into yuppies. Her father no longer plays in a band, but manages a company that builds guitars from all natural materials. Her mother was well owns a string of nurseries across the Midlands. Growing up Marigold shared her mothers' interests in plant, eventually developing powers similar to her mothers as well.

When Marigold was ten she was sent to the Foxwood Academy for Girls in Manchester. Foxwood Academy was a prestigious boarding school. While Marigold missed her parents, she made a lot of new friends. Marigold excelled in the academies choir. However there was one girl at the academy that took an instant dislike in Marigold.

Ainsely Sinclair was a rebel and a bully. To her Marigold looked weak, someone who was just begging to be picked on. Marigold did her best to deal with Ainsely, because she was somewhat of a pacifist. However, Marigolds' smiles and concerns about the environment just irritated Ainsely. Ainsely played a number of pranks on Marigold trying to make her look bad; setting her books on fire, giving Marigold a hot foot, torching her posters about environmental issues that Marigold put up around the academy, etc...

However, no matter what Ainsely did to her, it didn't seem to have an effect. It did, but Marigold hid it well. On a visit with her mother, Marigold asked her about transferring to a different academy. Daisy said she'd think about it. However, it was another two months before her mother told her about a school in Los Angeles. A close friend of Daisies was opening an academy for exceptional students and after Daisy had talked to Doctor Numan, Marigold had been accepted to join. Marigold was ecstatic.

When Marigold returned to Foxwood Academy to pack her things, Ainsely heard that she was to be leaving. On the day that Marigold left for good, Ainsely was in a rage. She wasn't in complete control of her powers at the time and accidentally burnt Foxwood Academy to the ground. However, by that time, Marigold was on a trans-Atlantic flight to America. For Ainsely her victim had escaped. However, Ainsely knew that one day their paths would cross again and Ainsely would get back at the smug girl with the sunny disposition.

Personality

Marigold is a bright sunny girl. She's young and she sees the world as a growing place, full of life. While not always bubbly, Marigold usually has a ready smile for those in need. Her true passion lies in saving the environment. While at Foxwood Academy she was always encouraging her fellow classmates to recycle. However, Marigold isn't a radical and thinks poorly of those with environmental powers who use their powers to sow destruction like the Elementals or Ruin.

Quote

"I don't understand. Don't you want to save the planet?"

Powers

Marigold is a phytokenetic, or in other words, she is a mentalist whose powers deal with plants. She's able to communicate with intelligent plants and even take control of them for a while. In addition, Marigold can animate plants causing them to grow at an accelerated pace. She can have a branch of a tree reach out and smack someone, or cause a tangle to grow up around a foe entrapping him or her. Her more unusual power is the ability to animate a plant to the degree that it becomes able to move on it own. This power is still weak, but as Marigold grows older she'll probably be able to animate larger plants.

Appearance

Marigold is a cute girl with luxurious long blond hair. Her costume consists of a living dress that she had animated with her powers. Her dress is always green, regardless of the season. On her feet she wears sensible shoes.

Zi'ma

Background

About twenty years ago, right after Prachvost (Blackguard) had prevented a super-villain from causing a lot of damage to Moscow, he was grazed by a bullet. The shot caused Prachvost to black out. Luckily for him the other members of Oktober found him before the super-villain did. When Prachvost recovered he found that he had lost his memories of being a super-hero and with the loss he lost the ability to use his ice powers. The other members of Oktober were unable to help him recover his powers or his memory, so Prachvost left the group and started to wander all over Russia eventually settling down in Vladivostok as a fisherman. It was in Vladivostok that he met a local woman and eventually they were married.

Oksana was the result of their marriage. She was to be their only child as when Oksana was three her father regained his memories and the powers that came with them, after he was lost at sea for a week. They never saw Prachvost again. Her mother told her that her father died at sea. Occasionally they would hear about Prachvost, but neither her mother or Oksana knew that her father was the super-hero Prachvost.

When Oksana reached puberty, she started to develop Uber abilities similar to the ones possessed by her lost father Prachvost. Saul Numan learned about Oksana's powers and took her in. When wearing a costume Oksana uses the code name: Z'ima or Winter. She's still unaware that her father is Prachvost. So far Prachvost, who has since became a super-villain is unaware of his daughters existence.

Personality

Oksana is a typical teenage girl who has Uber abilities. As such, she is rarely serious. Some might even characterize her as being flighty. However, Oksana does have a serious side. While she's not aware of it, she thinks of herself as Prachvost's daughter and strives to become a great hero like him was, especially now that he has become a super-villain.

Quote

"Is this too cold for you?"

Powers

Z'ima is an Uber girl with powers similar to her fathers. Her body naturally produces a cold energy, which she's totally immune to. On the pathway she can move at super-human speeds. Offensively Z'ima can project the cold from her hands causing a varities of effects from causing her foes to freeze, or event to entrap a foe in a block of ice.

Oksana is a pretty teenage girl. She has curly blond hair which she likes to keep fairly short and dazzling green eyes. For a costume, she wears a dark blue skin-tight body suit that covers her entire body except for her head. On her face she wears a half-mask to hide her identity. The eye slits of her mask are covered with a white material that makes her eyes appear to be white. When not wearing her costume, Oksana likes to wear clothing typical to a teenage girl.

tiki-1.png

Tiki

Background

Koroki was born with dwarfism. He never reached what would be considered a full height. However, he never let his height be a deterrent for what he wanted in life. Koroki built his body up, starting with body building and later got into wrestling.

It was while he was on a trip to Christchurch that he met Lance Westin in a most unusual fashion. Koroki saved the mans life. Lance had gotten himself completely turned around. That was when he ran into trouble. A bunch of drunk Australians had cornered him outside a bar. It sounded like New Zealand had trounced Australia in football, and the drunks were looking for a fight. Koroki couldn't help interfering.

The drunks were a little taken a back to seeing a Maori, and a midget no less telling them to bugger off. They completely forgot about Lance. They were going to teach this lippy boy some manners. One up the drunks picked up a board and broke it across Koroki's head. The board broke, Koroki's head didn't. With a grim smile Koroki proceeded to trounce the drunks.

Lance had watched the whole fight in amazement. He had never seen a dwarf move so fast, nor had he'd seen one so strong. The drunks had no chance. When the fight was over, Koroki came over to Lance to see if he was alright. Lance was amazed again. The boy didn't look hurt at all.

"What's your name son?" asked Lance

"It's Koroki, sir," answered Koroki

"What you did was amazing Koroki. Thank you for helping me. You've got the makings of a hero," said Lance, "and I just now the proper gentlemen to help you. Have you ever heard of Doctor Saul Numan?"

Personality

Koroki has always been a competive person. He has never let his height become an obsticule to him. He really likes sports, especially wrestling. It's rare when Koroki passes up a chance to compete against anyone. Koroki chalks his competiveness up to his Moari warrior ancestry.

Since leaving his large family in New Zealand, Koroki has found that he's somewhat homesick. While he thinks it's important to learn as much as he can at the Angelus Academy, he still misses his family a lot. Given the oppurtunity for a holiday that takes him back to New Zealand Koroki will leap at the chance.

Quote

"Turn your face to the Sun and the shadows fall behind you."

Powers

Tiki as no real super powers per se. However, he's stronger and definately more agile than a dwarf could possiblely be. Tiki is also able to take a lot of damage, that a normal person never could. His short legs make fast running difficult, but Tiki makes up for this by intense training and a combat routine that involves a lot of tumbling and leaps.

Tiki is an accomplished wrestler able grapple with foes a lot larger than he is. He blends his wrestling skills with his tumbling and leaping manuevers.

Appearance

Tiki was born a dwarf. He's a lot shorter than an average person, but unlike most dwarves, his musculature is extremely dense. His arms and legs are as thick as a body builders. Like most Maori, Koroki has massive traditional tattoos on his arms. He has thought about expanding his tattoos, but is waiting until he graduates. For a costume, Koroki wears a traditional Maori loinclothe, and to hide his identity, he wears a tiki mask made from wood. When not in his Tiki guise, Koroki wears jeans, and t-shirts. Of course to due to his size and stature, all of his clothes and shoes must be customed made.

goatboy.jpg

Goatboy

Background

Damien found Goat Boy in a far off tunnel next to a defunct portal. The creature was unconscious, and had burns across his body. At first Damien thought that the creature that he dubbed Goat Boy was a demon, but after being around Goat Boy for awhile changed his mind. Goat Boy is actually a Therian, a race of extra-dimensional creatures. Damien still isn't sure what Goat Boy is, because his mind control doesn't work on the creature. However, Goat Boy has shown that he's able to follow Damien's commands, so he has been allowed to remain with the 666 Gang. Goat Boy acts as the resident brick for the gang. He remains with the 666 Gang because he can't remember his past and has nowhere else to go.

Personality

Goat Boy is suffering from anmesia. He knows that he comes from another dimension, but doesn't remember how he ended up in the tunnels under Seattle. This not knowing aggrivates Goat Boy to no end. However, Goat Boy sees himself about the humans that he has fallen in with. He rarely talks to them, partly because he can barely make words in English, but that he knows that he's superior than them. Goat Boy keeps his thoughts to himself. To others he comes off as simple minded, but it fact, he's fairly intelligent.

Quote

"Snap, crackle, pop!" The sounds of his victims joints after Goat Boy gets ahold of them. Goat Boy isn't much of a talker.

Powers

Goat Boy is a typical Therian warrior. He's stronger than a normal human, and is able to withstand wounds that would kill a human. His flesh is denser than a humans, and Goat Boy heals quickly from any wound. Goat Boy is armed with razor sharp claws, which he knows how to use to deadly effect. Like most Therians Goat Boy see into the infrared spectrum. However, unlike other Therian, Goat Boy has the ability to move through objects by becoming immaterial. He calls this ability "Tweening".

Appearance

Goat Boy is vaguely humanoid. He has the head of something that looks like goat with golden horns that are straight. His eyes are limpid pools of red. Goat Boys body is covered by a shaggy coat of green hair. His hands are ended with razor sharp claws, and hooves complete the picture. Goat Boy doesn't wear any clothing either.

inferno.jpg

Inferno

Background

A strong breeze blew off the bay blowing Fire-in-the-Sky’s hair back off of his neck. The sad shaman of a lost people turned to face the city of San Francisco. Even from the island that he stood on he could clearly see the city with its towering buildings and rumbling trolleys. Fire-in-the-Sky was the one of the last of his people. The white man had seen to that. His wounded heart cried out for vengeance against the whites, and this city of hills on the bay would bleed like the way his people had.

It had taken Fire-in-the-Sky several months to gather the components for the ritual he was going to perform. A feather of the firebird was the hardest to come by, the blacked tips of the fingers of his left hand standing out as testament of his conviction. Now he had found the place to perform the summoning and the binding.

Moving purposely Fire-in-the-Sky came to the circle. He had spent twelve hours straight creating the circle. Tied in the center of the circle was a young boy; a boy that Fire-in-the-Sky had taken from the city, for this ritual. It would be a white that brought doom to the city of San Francisco. The sun was just cresting in the east as the shaman started the chant. Up came the feather of the firebird. In an intricate pattern the shaman performed the magic. The feather burst into flames in Fire-in-the Sky’s hand. The pain was excruciating but the old man persisted. Fire leaped from the feather to the boy in the circle, and a gate opened as well. Out came a ball of pure fire before the gate slammed shut.

When the ball of fire touched the boy, it transformed him. In the boys place now stood a creature of flames. A happy smile made entirely of flames crossed his face. Fire-in-the-Sky smiled as well and pointed towards San Francisco. The fiery boy turned to look as well, a look of delight on his face. In a burst of flames the boy flew towards the city, and the second part of the ritual went into effect. The ground started shaking and before he died from the exertion of the ritual Fire-in-the-Sky watched San Francisco be struck with worst earthquake the city had ever seen, and his Inferno would cause even more destruction.

Personality

Inferno had been on Earth for well over a hundred years. He’s still very much a juvenile. He has traveled all over North America, causing fires wherever he goes. Inferno takes great delight in causing fires, and after a fire is going Inferno likes to make it even bigger. However, like the fire that he is, Inferno looses interest and wanders away, until the next fire. His attention span isn’t very long. While not cruel, Inferno has no problem with using his fire on humans, because he really doesn’t understand what a human is.

Quote

"Can I burn it? Can I? Huh? Huh?"

Powers

Inferno is a minor fire elemental who has bonded with a human. He never ages, nor is affected by fire or flames. When showing off his abilities, Inferno can cause a lot of fiery destruction. His most devistating attacks are his firestorm, which throws out flames in all directions, and his heatwave attack which drains a foe of all moisture. Inferno can also ignite flammables with just a touch. Naturally being made out of flames, Inferno is painful to touch. Those touching Inferno will be burned. Furthermore fire based attacks aren't as effective against Inferno.

Appearance

Inferno looks like he's a smiling kid, a smiling kid made entirely out of flames. For a costume, Inferno wears a yellow bodysuit with matching gloves and boots in red. On the chest of his bodysuit is a ball of fire. His hair naturally is a cone of fire, while his eyes look like yellow flames. Inferno even has freckles. He can also disguise his supernatural nature by assuming a more human appearance. While looking similiar his hair becomes red and his eyes become a light blue. In his disguised form Inferno dresses like a young punk, but a quirky smile is always on his lips.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

mentello.png

Mentello

Background

Joseph "Joe" Ross was born with a powerful meta-gene. His meta-gene expressed itself by granting him powerful mental abilities. However, Joseph generally didn't use his powers as a teenagers. Joseph was the son of cop in Montreal and he aspired to become one himself. With much study and effort, Joseph became one as well.

When Joseph was in his thirties; already a police detective by this time, he was involved in a case of police corruption. One of his superiors was taking bribes from underworld figures, but the police had no evidence to link the two. As time went by Joseph became more and more desperate. It was also at this time in his life when he really started dreaming. Dreams of him actually using his mental powers for his own gain. Eventually it just became too much for him.

The very next day, Joseph's superiors gave a lengthy confession to his crime, and then went into a catatonic state. Similarly a notorious gangster gave himself up to the police and sang a similar tune. Like the policeman, the gangster too was admitted to a psychiatric ward. It was all too much for Joseph. By using his powers; he felt that he violated his job. He soon retired.

However, retirement was no escape from his dreams. Night after night they became more and more vivid. Soon his dreams were more like reality than reality itself to Joseph. Once again Joseph became desperate. His mental powers were starting to take over his waking thoughts. Then Joseph heard about Doctor Paul DuMonde, a famous Canadian psychologist who was now

practicing in San Diego. It didn't take much for Joseph to get an appointment with the good doctor.

A quick flight to San Diego was the next step for Joseph. In the offices of Doctor DuMonde, the doctor tried several methods to deal with Joseph's condition. However, Doctor DuMonde had no real knowledge of the meta-gene or it's affects on the human psyche. As a last resort, Doctor DuMonde proposed using hypnosis on Joseph to find a way to a cure. Oddly enough, Joseph seemed greatly interested in the procedure.

That night in Doctor DuMondes office they tried hypnosis. Things went terribly wrong. An alternate personality calling itself Joe emerged, and Joe was in total control of his psychic abilities. Unlike Joseph, Joe reveled in the use of his abilities. For a while Joe considered killing Doctor DuMonde, but something inside him stayed his hand. Instead of killing him Joe made Doctor DuMonde forget about him. Stepping out of the office, Joe saw a world that could be his for the taking. It wasn't to long after that night that a new super-villain was walking the streets of San Diego, and this villain was calling himself Mentello.

Personality

Joseph/Joe Ross is a man with a fractured mind. On one hand is Joseph Ross a kindly police officer who holds the letter of the law. On the other hand is Joe Ross, who's now the dominate personality. Joe Ross is also the one who controls the psychic powers of the two minds. Joseph Ross is aware of his mental powers but will not use them. On rare occasions Joseph Ross can reemerge and take control, but eventually the darker Joe Ross will reclaim his mastery of the body.

Joe Ross, as Mentello is a brash villain who thinks that he's unbeatable. His plans always work, and if for some reason something doesn't work they way he planned it; it's someone who's to blame. This overconfidence in his abilities usually lead to Joseph Ross coming back to the fore. Mentello is known to be a mentalist with a high opinion of himself.

Another odd quirk to Joe Ross's personality is his obsession with wealth. As Mentello, Joe Ross just can't seem to have enough of it. This maybe a reaction to the poor life that Joseph had growing up or a reaction to the vast amounts of money that was involved in the last case he was on before he retired.

Quote

"With a mere thought, I could turn your brain to jelly."

Powers

Mentello is possibly one of the most versatile mentalist in the world. With his psychic power pool Mentello is able to create almost any mental power in the book; be it mind control or even telekinesis. And did doesn't take him much effort to rearrange his powers to suit the situation. Naturally, like most mentalists, Mentello is highly resistant to mental attacks. His mental meta-gene also makes him aware when mental powers are in use around him.

How Mentello divides his powers depends greatly on his foes. However, Mentello generally pools his powers into mental powers of devastating effect. Even without his power pool, Mentello still retains the skills he learned as a police officer.

Appearance

Mentello wears a black skin-tight suit of body armor along with matching gloves and boots for a costume. Over all of this Mentello wears a flowing black cloak with a red lining. Mentello maintains his secret identity by wearing a semi hood which covers the upper part of his face and head leaving the lower half exposed. The eye slits of his hood are covered with a film that makes the eyes look like yellow slits. However they don't provide any protection from flash attacks. Mentello likes to look menacing in his costume.

Joseph/Joe Ross has short curly brown hair and eyes. He also has a goatee as well which he keeps meticulously trimmed. When not in his Mentello guise, Joseph likes to wear casual clothing usually in black.

Once again at the end of World War II, Moon Spider was once again without his cult of followers, thanks to the allies dropping an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. For a long time Moon Spider chose not to rebuild his cult, but sat back and mere watched as Japan rebuilt itself from the ashes of the war. Certainly thought Moon Spider, he had done it enough time over the centuries.

When Bushido started to gain power in Japan; Moon Spider saw its chance. Using its powers Moon Spider introduced itself to Kiku the new head of Bushido. While Moon Spider didn’t actually reveal its true form, Moon Spider did show the leader of Bushido how Moon Spider could create completely loyal soldiers for Bushido. However, Moon Spider didn’t tell Kiku that the new members of Bushido would actually be only loyal to Moon Spider.

Moon Spider maintains the identity of a flashy super-villain with desoldification powers. However, the truth about Moon Spider is even more frightening.

Personality

Moon Spider has lived for a long long time. During its’ life it has learned that not being human means that it’ll always be a target by the humans. Therefore Moon Spider has learned to be sly and manipulative. Moon Spider greatly desire to control everyone around it. Also Moon Spider knows that it can be defeated and tries to be very secretive about its true form. Only those who become followers of Moon Spider learn the truth about it. Moon Spider can be very spiteful. Many times over the centuries Moon Spiders cult has been destroyed. Moon Spider will go to great lengths to get revenge on those who wrong it.

Quote

“Yess, you would make a fine addition to my followers.”

Powers

Moon Spider is an immortal spirit creature. As a spirit creature is normally invisible to mortals. Moon Spider is able to project images to assist it in getting close enough to its victims so that Moon Spider can bite them. Normally Moon Spider creates an image of a super-villain wearing a silvery jumpsuit. This super-villain who calls himself Moon Spider, isn’t the actual Moon Spider. Attacks against it just pass harmlessly right through it. While its foes are distracted Moon Spider can leap onto them delivering a painful bite. Fomr the bite Moon Spider injects its victim with a powerful poison that makes them one of Moon Spiders mind slaves. The poison will eventually wear off, unless Moon Spider rebites its victim. While a mind slave the victim will do anything Moon Spider commands.

Moon Spider likes to be sneaky when it comes to fighting. Most vicitms won’t realize the truth about Moon Spider until it’s too late. Moon Spider will use its invisiblity to cover any retreat. Also Moon Spider is not above sacrificing one of its mind slaves to save its own skin. As an evil spirit creature Moon Spider has a weakness to full sunlight. Moon Spider prefers to attack from the shadows or in the dark of night.

Appearance

In its natural shape Moon Spider is quite horrifying to look at. Moon Spider is a large black hairy spider about the size of a pony. On its abdomen is a crescent moon mark, similar to a mon. However, the true form of Moon Spider is usually invisible. Moon Spider normally projects the image of a young handsome Japanese Man who wears a silvery jumpsuit with a bared chest. Tattooed on the chest of the image is a crescent moon. When not gathering new mind slaves, Moon Spider stays in hiding attended by his cultists.

centipede.png

Centipede

Background

Maxwell Claussen is actually the second Centipede. His uncle Eugene was a tinkerer who built a suit of armor and committed crimes in San Diego. He was eventually defeated by Surf and Turf and sent to prison. The original armor was confiscated by Surf and Turf who turned it over to their friend the Chairman.

The armor was sent to a subsidiary of TL Cybernetics for examination. This company was Geo-Tex, a geological research facility. Unknown to everyone was that Max Claussen worked there. Max was secretly able to get the armor to his laboratory where it worked on it for years. No one thought about a possible connection.

However, hard times fell on Geo-Tex, and Max was downsized. Out of a job, and not done with the armor, Max was beside himself. Geo-Tex still had the armor. This is when Max had a plan. He would break into Geo-Tex and steal the armor. Breaking into Geo-Tex was easy for the genius of Max Claussen. He would've gotten away Scott free if it wasn't for the interference of Surf and Turf. So like his uncle. Max went to jail as well. He would've stayed there if the mentalist Mentello hadn't heard about him. It was easy for Mentello to calmly walk into the jail and free him.

Once free Max using his incredible genius rebuilt the centipede armor from memory. Max swore revenge on Surf and Turf, but Mentello urged caution, as he had tangled with the duo and had come out the worse for wear. Mentello instead suggested (possibly using his mental powers on Max), that they should instead travel to Atlantic City were a major boxing match was going to be held. Surely a lot of money would be on hand, and they could get some of it for themselves.

Max was really enthusiastic about it, and they both left for Atlantic City, where they met up with Proportions. The trio were to form the Aggressors. Using his new armor, Max goes by the code-name: Centipede just like his uncle did. To Max he's carrying on a family tradition.

Personality

Max has a major chip on his shoulder. Almost everyone, except for his fellow Aggressors, has done him some wrong in the past. He generally takes everything way too personally. Even the other members of the Aggressors know when to walk softly around Max. Because of all the anger in Max's life, it tends to make him a very moody person.

Max is also been known to hold a grudge. He still has a great disliking towards the Chairman, even though the two have never met. When he worked for Geo-Tex they were always playing Frank Sinatra tunes over the public address system. Max hates Frank Sinatra.

Like most scientists, Max is generally distracted by his work. If given the chance to look and some new gadget, Max will stop whatever he's doing and try and examine it. Max thinks that he's the greatest scientist in the world, and will go out of his way to prove it. Max, as Centipede, is always breaking into research facilities to steal the latest technology.

Quote

"Once you mocked my genius, and you shall pay for that insult."

Powers

The Centipede armor provides the wearer with increased strength, stamina, and agility. The defenses of the suit are impressive as well. In addition to the protection the suit provides the wearer, it also protects the wearer from visual and aural flash attacks.

The armor has a number of enhanced sensors, both visual and aural. Built-in camera's in the helmet provide the wearer with 360 degree vision. Furthermore the suit is sealed and has it's own built-in life support system.

Underneath the wearers arms is a similar set of robotic Waldos which act as an extra set of arms. Using the Waldos, the wearer can dig though extremely dense materials. Also the servos in the legs of the armor allow the wearer to run at super- human speeds.

Even without the centipede armor, Max is a mechanical and electrical genius. If it's electrical or mechanical Max can fix it or modify it.

Appearance

The Centipede armored suit is a large metallic suit that looks like the carapace of an insect. The armor has been painted a bright red color. The armor has an extra set of robotic arms that are located under the first pair. These extra limbs are fully functional. The helmet is rounded with a pair of centipede-like antenna sticking out of it. Outside of his suit, Max is a short stocky man who's going bald. Max has red hair and brown eyes. He normally dresses in jeans and long sleeved shirts with the sleeves always rolled up.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

proportions.png

Proportions

Background

Billy Lee Johnson once was a professional boxer from Atlanta who was down on his luck. He was losing fights, even against boxers that he could usually beat. Billy Lee was starting to get worried that his career might be over at the age of twenty. Once after loosing a humiliating fight against an up and coming boxer Billy Lee went on a drinking tour of all the bar in the city.

Dawn found him stumbling down the streets drunk. He knew he must be hallucinating when he walked through a wall, or that for a while he was towering over the city in a drunken haze. Eventually Billy Lee found his way home. Billy remembered the sound of construction workers outside his house the next day. For some reason there was a lot new pot holes in the road around his house. With a yawn, Billy Lee went down to the gym to work out, giving no thought to what had happened last night.

Since that drunken night things for Billy Lee had changed dramatically. His worthless manager finally paid off for him getting him a match with another famous boxer. This was going to be a major fight for Billy Lee. And he won. After that Billy Lee kept on winning. It didn't even seem unusual to Billy Lee that all of his opponents were sent to the hospital after their bouts. One of them even died of massive trauma. Billy Lee was quickly going up the ranks, and was becoming quite famous.

Eventually Billy Lee was given the opportunity to fight against the heavy weight champion in a casino in Atlantic City. Billy Lee was really psyched about the bout. He had his game face on and was really concentrating. Things were going really well, when all hell broke loose. Before he knew what was happened Billy Lee started growing, and growing until he was a giant. The roof of the arena was destroyed by his growth. People started screaming, and the next thing Billy Lee knew he was the size an ant. Billy Lee fearing that he would be stepped on instantly returned to his normal height but was transparent as a ghost. This scared the champ, who took a swing at Billy Lee. Before Billy Lee knew what was happening he was now as a hard as a rock. The champ broke his hand on Bill Lee's face.

The match was over and Billy Lee was disqualified for using his meta-powers. Furthermore the boxing commission banned him from boxing for the rest of his life. People started to turn their backs on Billy Lee. With no where else to turn to, Billy Lee turned to crime.

His first big crime was when he went to rob the cash box at another major boxing match in Atlantic City. Before robbing the cash box, Billy Lee, who was calling himself Proportions, was going to enter the ring and beat both boxers into the ground. They never had a chance against him. Unfortunately for Proportions, Mentello and Centipede were robbing the casino as well.

When Proportions realized what was going on the other two villains had made their getaway. Proportions tracked them down and was going to get revenge on them, when Mentello surprised him by offering him half of the loot and suggested that the three of them might make a great team. It was Proportions who suggested the name of the team; the Aggressors. Since that night, Proportions has gone on to be the strong man for the Aggressors.

Personality

Billy Lee has always been a very aggressive man; this is one of the reasons he became a professional boxer, to deal with his aggressive nature. Nothing has really changed since becoming Proportions. As Proportions, Billy Lee is always looking out for a good fight.

When Billy Lee started winning his boxing matches he really enjoyed all the fame and the money he was getting. It all went straight to his head. Since becoming Proportions, his thirst for wealth and fame has increased dramatically. Proportions thinks that being a member of the Aggressors will get him the things he deserves. Pity the super-hero who gets in way. Now that Billy Lee has super powers; Proportions thinks nothing can harm him. This has been his undoing at times. Proportions likes to showboat his powers, and gloat when his foes are down.

Quote

"So who wants a piece of me?"

Powers

Proportions is a man with the meta-gene that allows him complete control of his size and density. Through unknown means Proportions is able to add a lot of mass to his body or take that same mass away. Also Proportions can increase or decrease his size. Proportions can take so much mass away that he becomes virtually immaterial. When Proportions adds on height or mass, he becomes super-humanly strong, and when shrunk difficult to hit. Proportions is unable to combine his powers, thus he's unable to shrink and add on mass.

In addition to his size/mass powers, Proportions has the skills of a professional boxer. Coupled with his met-gene enhanced powers this makes him a deadly foe. In a fight, Proportions likes to make a dramatic entrance. He also likes to primarily fight foes one on one using his boxing skills. However, Proportions has been known to pick up objects and throw then at his foes. Proportions isn't about using his shrinking and desolidification powers to unnerve his foes. To get away from a fight, Proportions will either shrink to his smallest size or become totally immaterial.

Appearance

When Proportions uses his growth powers he grows to the height and weight of a giant, or can shrink down to the size of a gnat; barely noticeable. Or Proportions can add or subtract from his mass becoming infinitely heavy or practically immaterial. At his normal size, Billy Lee is a muscular bald black man. For a costume, Billy Lee wears a pair of red boxing shorts, along with white boots. He also likes to tape up his arms up to his elbows. Proportion doesn't wear boxing gloves. Due to his dramatic change in the boxing ring, it would be difficult for Billy Lee to maintains a secret identity.

Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine

steelwind.png

Steelwind

Background

Samura Maehata is a ninja won once belonged to the same ninja clan as Sleeve and Darkstar. Both Darkstar and Maehata who was known as Steelwind often clashed over their affections for Sleeve. All three were young at the time, and Sleeve seemed to really enjoy playing one ninja off of the other. Usually their duels ended when one or the other was knocked out. The victor of duel was given the honor of a date with Sleeve. To the loser, he got to nurse his own bruises.

However, it was during a particular duel, when Darkstar accidently slipped on the mat that Steelwind in a pique of rage put out Darkstar's left eye with his ninja-to. This incident was immediately brought to the attention of the clan elders, who weren't amused. After a lot of deliberation and debate it was decided that Sleeve must been the cause for the accident. Sleeve of course protested her innocents. To the clan elders this was a sure since of the ninja girl's guilt. As punishment Sleeve was stripped on her clan privileges, and exiled to Hong Kong.

This decision did not sit well with Darkstar. And eventually he left the clan all together. Steelwind was as pleased as could be. His main rival was finally gone; his only regret was the Sleeve was no longer there to bask in his greatness.

Later it was learned that Sleeve had actually betrayed the clan. She had joined with a Chinese woman who was calling herself Dragon Lady. This was an insult the clan elders could not accept. The elders were still angered with Maehata, and as such they sent him to Hong Kong to eliminate the traitorous Sleeve.

It was easy for Maehata to track down the traitor in Hong Kong. Was he not the greatest ninja the world had known? Maehata had the ninja girl cornered, but out of nowhere the other super-powered members of Golden Triangle came pouring out of the woodwork. Femme Fatale and he crossed blades, and while he easily drove her off, a slug from the Commander's pistol certainly got his attention. With a bullet wound in his shoulder, Maehata gave up on capturing Sleeve and returned to Japans.

Needless to say the clan elders weren't happy. First Sleeve caused Maehata to wound Darkstar in the eyes, then Sleeve betrayed the clan, then Darkstar left the clan, and finally Maehata failed. It was all to much for the clan elders. Maehata was exiled from the clan, never to return upon pain of death.

For the next few years, Maehata traveled a lot. Going from place to place. Where ever he went he challenged martial artists to duels. However, none of them seemed to hold the skill of his former rival Darkstar.

It was while Maehata was in San Diego following up on a report about a ninja clan when Maehata ran into Proportions late at night outside of a nightclub. Proportions was spoiling for a fight, and Maehata was glad to give him on. This was the first time Maehata had ever encountered a super-powered opponent. He was greatly impressed with Proportions strength and raw power. And it isn't easy to impress Maehata. Proportions for his side of it was astonished by Maehata's skill and agility. During the entire fight, Proportions was never able to lay a hand on the wily ninja.

Both were greatly exhausted when the fight was over. Maehata and Proportions were both panting from the fight. Sirens were sounding in the background. During the fight both had destroyed several cars, and uprooted many telephone poles. It was Proportions who offered to bring Maehata back to the Aggressors latest hide out to meet the others.

Back at the Aggressors hide out, Maehata met with Mentello and Centipede. While Maehata was not impressed with the mechanical armor of Centipede, he was impressed with Mentello's abilities. Mentello offered Maehata a membership in the Aggressors. Maehata decided that the Aggressors would make a perfect vehicle to find the path of the perfect warrior, so he gladly joined. As for the clan elders, they raged against another betrayal, and placed a sizable bounty on their foolish ninja.

Personality

Maehata is a perfectionist in an almost obsessive way. To him there can be no warrior greater than him. Proportions while is a great fighter, is nothing but a mere brawler according to Maehata. Other so-called martial artist much be challenged to prove once and for all how great Maehata is.

At times Maehata may appear as one who's philosophical, however, this is nothing more than a facade. Against those who don't meet his strict measurements, Maehata holds them with the utmost contempt. The only ones he really respects are his former rival and Sleeve. All other just haven't measured up. Of course the other members of the Aggressors are at least extended a little courtesy from Maehata, but not much. As such Maehata always comes across as a very arrogant man.

Like most ninja, Maehata has little or no respect for live. To him killing is actually an art form, and Maehata is surely an artist of the greatest type. As such Maehata will take down an opponent with his ninja-to and beyond to the next without a backward glance.

Quote

"I know that I am the greatest warrior in the world. However, I don't know about you."

Powers

Maehata has no real super-powers per se. However, his ninja training allows him to move faster than what most would think possible. He naturally can run really fast when he needs to. His training also makes his senses very sharp. Maehata can sense danger around him at times.

Maehata has armed himself with throwing stars, which he can unleash rapidly. But his favorite weapon is his treasured ninja-to. With his ninja-to Maehata can cause horrible wounds. He has even learned a maneuver which he calls his "Death Strike" where he finds a weapon spot in his opponents defenses and plunges his ninja-to to the hilt. To protect himself from super-hero attacks, Maehata has had his ninja night-suit specially treated with chemicals to protect him just like armor, but more flexible.

Even without his throwing stars or his ninja-to, Maehata is a master of ninjutsu. Maehata can easily disable a foe using that alone. Like all ninja's Maehata is a master of stealth, tracking, and disguise. Often times it's hard for heroes to know who exactly Maehata is.

Appearance

Maehata doesn't look much like a typical super-villian. For a costume, Maehata wears a traditional ninja night-suit which totally hides his face, except for his cold eyes. When not in his Steelwind guise, Maehata typically wears clothing like that of a Japanese businessman along with sunglasses to hide his contempt. Otherwise Maehata goes out of his way to not draw attention to himself, as this would be dangerous.

tiki-1.png

Tiki

Delenev P-1B Battlesuit

Description: The battlesuit stands 7' (2.13 m) tall and weighs in at approximately 375 lbs (171 kg). Outwardly, the Delenev P1-B battlesuit looks very similar to the standard P-1A configuration and usually only an expert can tell the differences without carefully study. The P-1B battlesuit and its sub-assemblies have a dark green finish some were field modified with various camouflage patterns as well as stylized unit insignias. Just as with the P-1A, the combat helmet has a mirrored oval visor and secures to the shoulder and collar assembly. The integrated AZ-7 blaster is housed in the lower right arm with a firing port on the back of the right gauntlet. One of the differences between the P-1A and P-1B is the power and environmental systems hump, both are on the lower back but the P-1A is four to six inches in height where the P-1B is two to four inches in height. Since the P-1B does not have a computer targeting system, it lacks the system's two collar mounted targeting sensors.

Delenev P-1X Battlesuit

Description: The Delenev Type P-1X battlesuit stands 7'2" and weighs approximately 500 pounds. The Delenev P-1X battlesuit and its sub-assemblies have a steel gray finish, but many different camouflage schemes were proposed in the design specifications. The integrated AZ-7 blaster is housed in the lower right arm with a firing port on the back of the right gauntlet. The battlesuit has an armored hump on the lower back about four to six inches in height that houses the suit's power and environmental systems. The main difference between the standard P-1A and the P-1X is the mini-rocket launcher system. It is contained in an armored pack and mounts on top of the power and environmental systems hump on the rear of the suit with a counter weight system projecting under the shoulders and around the waist of the battlesuit. The counter weight system gives the P-1X battlesuit a very distinctive look allowing quick differentiation between it and the P-1A/B.

Jade

Background

Hama Setsuko is a geologist working for the Japanses Gelogical Survey agency. One day while exploring a cave near Tokyo, Setsuko came upon an illegal toxic waste dump. Setsuko was overcome by the fumes from the toxins and passed out. She awoke later a few miles away from the cave without knowing how she had gotten there, and all of her clothing was torn.

Setsuko went home and took a long soak in the bath. While bathing Setsuko hit her head on the rim of the tub. Pain exploded in her head, but that was quickly forgotten because Setsuko watched in amazement as her skin turned from her normal flesh tone into something that looked a lot like jade. Kuei

Background

Once Honda Eiichi was a much feared yakuza. For hears Eiichi terroized businessmen and fellow criminals all over Tokyo. That was until the day that Eiichi was ambushed by a rival gang. After the other yakuza were done with Eiichi there wasn't enough left of him for a proper identifications of his remains. Eiichi was buried in an unmarked shallow grave by his killers. Two months later his kuei, or vengeful spirit, arose from the grave. As a kuei, Eiichi started searching throughout Jpan looking for his killers. This has gone on for the past three years.

Unfortunately for Eiichi, he's starting to forget who his killers were. This has made Eiichi very desperate. After sending another of his killers to Hell, Eiichi was confronted by Octopus. It was Octopus who identified Eiichi as a kuei. Eiichi spent the entire night telling Octopus how he met his end and of his quest to avenge himself on his killers. Octopus offered to make Eiichi a deal. In exchange from Eiichi joing the Eight Headed Monster Gang, Octopus would assist Eiichi in tracking down his killers. Eiich agress to Octopuses request and became member of the gang. Now Eiichi is now known as Kuei by the yakuza.

Octopus was able to track down Kuei after a series of unusual murder that were committed all over Tokyo. All of the victims were yakuza, but none from the Nomura yakuza clan. However, the persons committing the murders had no memory of committing the crimes. Octopus thought athat this was unusual and started to track the murders. His dilligence paid off when Octopus talked to a Shinto priest about spirit creatures, then it was only a matter of time to find out who was really responsible for the murders.

Quote

"I may only rest when all of my killers are in Hell."

Personality

Eiichi was a driven criminal. It was his ambition that done him in. Now as a kuei, Eiichi has become obssessed with getting revenge on his muderers. Eiichi is unable to rest at peace until he kills them all. Unfrotunately, Eiichi has slowly started to forget about his past. Eiichis is no longer sure of the faces of his killers. This often drives Eiichi to distraction at times. Because Eiichi has become a spirit creature, Eiichi has gained an abhorance to bright light. Bright light is painful to Kuei, but really doesn't cause him any actual harm. Eiichi avoid brightly lighted areas whenver possible.

Powers/Tactics

Eiichi has become a kuei or vengeful spirit creature, after he was murdered. As a spirit creatre Eiichi has little actual contact with the physical world. Normally Eiichi is completely immaterial; attacks that aren't magical or mental in nature pass completely through him causing Eiichi no harm at all. Also as kuei, Eiichi is normally invisible to the naked eye, only visible to those who're able to see spirit creatures. His most frightening power is his ability to possess somone. While possesssing his victim, Eiichi actually inhabits the body taking complete control. Eiichi can remain inside his victims so long has his endurance lasts or if a priest were to exocise him. Using his power of possession, Eiichi has taken revenge on a number of yakuza. As a spirit creature Eiichi isn't affected by the physical world around him. Eiichi is effectively immortal until he is laid to rest. Like most spirit creatures Eiichi is able to fly to a degree.

Eiichi isn't much of a fighter. Being a spirit creature, Eiichi can't actually touch anyone, nor can anyone touch him either. Only by possessing someone can Eiichi actually enter a fight. Eiichi works best when he possesses someone like an innocent bystander. He often usis this tactic to help the other members of the EIght Headed Monster Gange make a getaway. It's easy for Eiichi to make an escape; al he has to do is free his victim from his possession.

Appearance

Outside of a physical body, Eiichi is completely invisible and totally immaterial. Those who can actually see him, Eiichi looks like a transparent man with short hair and a look of sheer rage on his face. Eiichi's eyes have a reddis tint to them. When actually possessing someone, Eiichi could be almost anyone, male or female.
