Max Brooks did explain a lot

the virus was deadly to everything(even bacteria)

so rotting took 3 to 5 yrs ,longer if they stayed in near freezing conditions
the zombie virus's motivation was to spread to as many as possible, so unless there where other targets to infect the virus just let them feed
also the zombie's digestive system was shut down
food would just pass through the bowels unless there was a blockage then blow up like blimp

The zombies were driven to feed even if they didn't have to.  Which begs the question do they take a few bites from a victim and then move on to look for others, or consume the victim and then move on?

And i maintain that Zombie movies take place where there are no zombie movies.

depends on how much stimuli there is

1 feed till target is still

2 keep feeding unless there is stimuli to go chase new prey( moving shadows not shambling, fresh meat, etc)

this allows those still not dead and struggling to kept being fed upon

The thing is, with zombies is that you can come up with all kinds of theories as to why they behave like they do in films, but not for why they would logically.  In other words you can retrofit their irrational, ridiculous movie actions because that's what happens, sure.  They do it in the movie so uh, (scrambling) they only like fresh brains, yeah that's it!

But the way they are set up and described, they wouldn't act that way.  They just do because its a movie and behaving reasonably and consistently would make them boring, less of a threat, and for a short film.  There's a reason Zombies are the weakest and least feared of the undead in RPGs.

It's never been stated on the TV series, but the writers of the Walking Dead comic book have mentioned in interviews that there are no zombie stories in that world.  No Night of the Living Dead, no Vodoun folklore, nothing that ever conceived of the idea of the dead reanimating.

Yeah, that doesn't work. It either takes millennia to get to another star system or whatever sci fi super-drive's time frame.  Maneuver drives take a while to move around within a system, then its hundreds of light years to the next one.  Its hyperdrive or you just don't get there.

When I built the Millennium Falcon in Hero, I gave it 3 types of propulsion.  Basic flight, conventional FTL, and then an XDM "hyperdrive" that crosses the galaxy almost instantly.

Or you could just assume that in Star Wars, their stars are closer together than ours.

Or you could simply remember that Star Wars is not science fiction. It's space fantasy. It uses the jargon but not the physics or mechanics.

Mm-Hmm.  I remember the scene in Attack Of The Clones where Obi-Wan gets help from Yoda and his class of younglings to find the Kamino system.  They study the movement of the other systems through space and determine that something like a star system is affecting them--therefore, there must be a star system where the database says is empty space.

And I remember thinking, "Wow.  That was almost something dangerously close to actual science."

Honestly, you could have written the same scene as an episode of Star Trek--

SPOCK: "I have conducted a gravimetric study of the region.  The behavior of the other systems as they move through space is consistent with the presence of a star system at the location where our navigational database indicates no planet exists."

KIRK:  "So we have a choice.  We can either believe the navigational database--or the laws of physics."

SPOCK:  "The laws of physics do not lie, Captain."

KIRK:  "Agreed.  Mr. Chekov, lay in a course for--that blank spot on the star map.  Mr. Sulu, engage at Warp Four once the course is laid in."

CHEKOV:  "Aye, Sir."

SULU:    "Aye, Sir."

KIRK:  "All right--let's see what it is we're not supposed to find."

...and we never would have seen a Dr. Strange movie since he was one of their targets.

Depends on the MCU timeline and whether he was being targeted as a hotshot opinionated neurosurgeon or as a mystic who'd shown evidence of superhuman powers. I suspect the results of shelling Strange's high rise condo might be very different from doing so to the New York Sanctum Sanctorum.
